From booking to the last moment of the trip everything was very well planned and executed. The local agent kept in touch with us several times to ensure our well being and satisfaction. Our car was comfortable and spotless. Our driver, Baby, was great and we felt very safe undertaking the challenges of travelling by road in India. Good to excellent hotels throughout. Guides when we needed them and free time to explore on our own. We would not hesitate to recommend Transindus to friends and will use them again to plan a holiday.

Quite simply wonderful. The organisation, hotels, guide and drivers could not have been more perfect.

We travelled for three weeks around Rajasthan, then visited a bird sanctuary and then a tiger reserve. The organisation, hotels, guides and drivers were all excellent. There was absolutely nothing left to chance, everything was covered, and we had a seamless and wonderful trip. Thank you TransIndus, we will definitely recommend you to our friends and travel with you again.

Nothing was too much trouble. Everything had been thought about in advance. The guides and drivers were excellent. Representatives of the company welcomed us in all the main cities and ensured all travel plans went smoothly. We were given a 5 star service from start to finish. A wonderful trip, wonderfully organised.

On to Wayanad to our Treehouse at Tranquil, oh wow! The most amazing place we did not want to leave! We visited caves and saw prehistoric etchings, we took long walks in the plantations own grounds accompanied by their dogs and our local guide there took us on a walk through paddy fields and villages where we met two local tribes who rarely met westerners and were as interested in us as we were in them. Next was one night in a homestay in Tellicherry where our host arranged for us to visit a Handloom weaving factory, a local ‘cigarette’ Beedi rolling unit, Tellicherry Fort and the church next door all because he wanted us to see more of his town. We had a cooking class with his wife who travels India giving demonstrations. Then a train journey to Cochin, our driver went on ahead with our luggage and he was there with a guide to meet us on the platform. Cochin brought us a trip to a local village where they showed us crab farming, coir weaving (the ladies gave us the rope we had watched them make) and loads more. Sunset boat trips to see the Chinese Fishing nets and the most romantic private dinner on Brunton Boatyard’s jetty on Valentines day. Periyar next and our own pool villa. Border trekking just the two of us and 3 guards in the NP there 8 hours that flew by, we sat and watched wild elephants, had breakfast and lunch in the jungle and walked the same track as a Tiger had not long before – amazing and humbling. TransIndus had arranged for us to visit a local family’s spice plantation where we were invited into their home for a cooking demonstration and sat and ate lunch with them. You can’t go to Kerala and not stay on a houseboat and ours was more than stunning we felt like royalty! Lastly a couple of days relaxing by Lake Vembanad, what views and fabulous service. We did not want our trip to end!

Rating for tour operator:

We cannot praise TransIndus enough we have just come back from the most amazing trip around Kerala. From the very beginning I felt that their team had really listened to what we were looking for and tailored a trip around what we would love. That extra attention to detail really came to life while we were away. We met some amazing people from local tribes who very rarely met westerners and who were as interested in us as we were in them, to the most welcoming family who took us on a tour round their family spice plantation and then showed us how to cook a typical Kerala meal and we then had lunch with them in their house. We had the most romantic private dinner arranged for us in Cochin at Brunton Boatyard on Valentines day. Our driver was fabulous and all our guides were all brilliant, we even had a guide meet us at our departure airport and escort us in to check in. We cannot recommend TransIndus enough and will certainly be booking with them again!

Thankyou once again Vasu for organising a truly memorable and thoroughly enjoyable  trip. Right from the onset, you listened intently to us and tailored  our 18day tour of Tamil Nadu, Karnatica and Kerala.Every day brought fresh surprises and delights. There was never a dull moment but at the same time , we were never under pressure and were able to relax. It is difficult to say what  we enjoyed most: the home stays; the safari lodges; the magical tree house;the faded colonial charm of the hill top hotel or the luxurious  and rejuvenating beach resort. Without exception, every thing went according to plan and Shree checked with us regularly to make sure that we were happy. We were blessed with having an excellent driver aptly named Joy, who was unfailingly, yet unobtrusively attentive and helpful. The guides appeared as if from nowhere and were knowledgeable and very clear adding a great deal to our experience.Perhaps one of the highlights was the Fire They Yam, when (Allan, our home stay’s own guide) took us to his village where we were the only non villages and were made very welcome. We will  as we have in the past,  certainly continue to recommend Transindus to anyone who is considering a trip to India and for our fifth journey to India we would not consider going with anyone else. A huge thank you Vasu and Transindus.

We then had a couple of days in the wildlife reserve at Ranthambore before flying home. Accommodation was excellent - hotels were of a high standard and made us feel very welcome. They worked hard to maintain their own style and ambience relevant to Indian culture.

Transindus were excellent. They were very helpful before we went, making sure that we had an itinerary that met our needs and answering all our queries. Organisation was brilliant - we were met by representatives as arranged at each point. The two guides we had were superb and both went that extra mile to make sure we got the most from our experiences.

1. The BA flights to Delhi and return were at a convenient time and I thought that the food had improved marginally. 2. The Leela Kempinski was absolutely excellent and if it had been convenient would have enjoyed staying for a few days. 3. The Leela Kempinski was absolutely excellent and if it had been convenient would have enjoyed staying for a few days. 3. As you had warned excess luggage over 15kg was charged and would have amounted to £70, I therefore upgraded to business class for £100, albeit that an excess was payable on return flight due to too much shopping! 4. The Sukoon house boat was excellent and I thoroughly enjoyed the Dal Lake which being a summer visit was quite busy. By comparison the Nagin Lake is deserted apart from the house boats. Mascot showed me their new luxury house boat, accommodation appeared excellent and food is provided by their restaurant supplying their three house boats and again my one meal was excellent. Throughout India the portions are now quite enormous and on many occasions I regretfully left half the main course. 5. I enjoyed the Pahalgam hotel and especially the luxury of the wood-burning stove overnight, there were few guests and it wasn’t without a certain humour that two of the staff were always hovering around my room with hands out and dinner was taken with one to two waiters per table! I met the young owning family who were very charming, their hotel was dry which was of no consequence to myself. 6. I enjoyed The Highlands Park hotel at Gulmarg, the flowers were absolutely delightful. I feel it is more of an area for younger people who can enjoy the walking and horse-riding. The Gondola was an experience with snow at the mountain top. 7. The Lalit Grande Palace hotel was excellent except for some extremely noisy Indian guests who woke everyone up at 6.30am in the morning by standing on their balcony shouting at one another. The forgoing was very noticeable that most Indians can no longer hold a normal conversation but bellow at one another, in ticking them off my door closed and I had to walk a couple of hundred yards in my pyjamas to reception to get a further key, happily they checked out during that morning. There was no drunkenness or bad behaviour but merely thoughtless shouting. The days excursion to Sonamarg was extremely interesting. 8. I enjoyed my couple of nights at the Maidens hotel which suits me well since I have some Indian friends in the area. The buffet dinner is rather poor there albeit A La Carte quite satisfactory. A car with driver facility is available at the Maidens which I found excellent and inexpensive. In summary, I thoroughly enjoyed the visit and your staff, agents, managers and drivers were absolutely excellent and I look forward to many trips with TransIndus and hope the forgoing may be of some use.

Two weeks of our travel were spent in Kashmir where we stayed on Houseboat Mascot 1 on Lake Nageen. From here Mascot Travels,MD Yaseen Tuman, organised our adventures using this luxury boat as our base. We managed to visit so many beautiful and interesting places in Kashmir and have now seen Pahalgam, Baramulla, Gulmarg, the old town of Srinagar my water and land. And had a beautiful and peaceful picnic in Anantag by the river after visiting the Sun Temple at Martand, where Haider was filmed. This is not only a beautiful area but also atmospheric and there is nothing to replace meeting interesting and friendly people on the way. We have used TransIndus for many years now and have full trust in them arranging our holidays.

My wife has always wanted to go to Japan, after being fascinated as a child by an elderly neighbour who had lived there, and whose house was full of Japanese materials, pottery and art. We researched many companies before booking, and sought advice from friends who had lived in Japan. Of all the itineraries, we agreed that the Transindus Japan Experience had all the elements we wanted. There were scheduled visits to the main cultural and historic sights in Tokyo and Kyoto with a private guide for our small group (4 adults). These were outstanding experiences since our guides were knowledgeable, interesting and communicative, while, at the same time, having the flexibility to tailor our visits and modify them if we wanted to stay longer at a particular sight. Other visits to Hakone, Takayama, Shirakawago and Kanazawa were either part of larger guided groups or organised by ourselves during our leisure time. We also wanted to visit different famous gardens and see the cherry blossom. The tour enabled us to see a wide range of Japanese gardens, and we were fortunate to see cherry blossom not only by day but, especially in Kanazawa, illuminated spectacularly by night. Internal travel, pre-booked by Transindus was bt train (including the Bullet Train), coach and chartered taxi. Seats were reserved on the trains. Distances between the main areas visited was such that travel was never too long or stressful. The hotels were of at least 4 star quality, with ample size bedrooms and both Western and Japanese food for the included breakfasts. We spent 2 to 3 nights in all but one hotel, which meant that there was no sense of rush from one centre to another. The one exception was at our request. Transindus was able to modify our itinerary so that we could spend a night in an old, traditional "ryokan", an experience we shall treasure. The room had its own private "onsen" (outside hot pool), traditional tatami mats and sliding wall panels, while the 10-course, beautifully presented Japanese evening meal and breakfast the following morning were served to us in our room. Altogether, we felt that the name of the tour "Japanese Experience" had fully lived up to its name. We would have loved to have stayed longer!

Rating for tour operator:

Transindus is a company with a lot of knowledge and expertise. They specialise in holidays in Asia and, as we discovered, try to tailor their holidays to the wishes of the client. We were very impressed by the way our contact Chinmay Vasavada, Sales Manager for South East Asia and the Far East, engaged in a dialogue with us, by phone and email, about what we wanted to see and do. The final itinerary was perfect for us. All the travel arrangements (reserved seats on trains, hotel rooms, chartered taxis, private guides etc.) worked like clockwork. We would certainly use Transindus again.

A truly fantastic holiday

Keen to get a taste of India we took a golden triangle tour (Delhi, Agra, Jaipur)and then flew to Kerala to stay in Kovolam with a night on a backwater houseboat. We could not have had a more fantastic time, The Taj Mahal is breathtaking, riding an elephant to the Amber Fort, the luxurious and tranquil boat ride in Kerala.....At every stage the food was amazing, the hotels marvellous and everyone we came across was delightful.

Our dealings with TransIndus were a delight from first to last contact and we would have no hesitation with using them again and recommending them to our friends. They listened to all our requirements, made some extremely helpful suggestions and provided us with a first class itinery. At every stage we were looked after and rather spoilt! After doing our research, we do not believe we could have had a holiday of this standard with any other company.

A company with specialised knowledge of India who were able to provide detailed advice on the trip. They also arranged tailor made choices of travel details and hotels. In the end the package was well planned in all the details. During the trip, despite having a local guide, the company checked twice (by a representative and by phone) that we were enjoying the holiday and had no problems. The local guide they chose for the main tour was superb and very knowledgable.
