A unique and memorable experience

Polyphony in Portugal, devised by Martin Randall Travel, was a rich musical experience of the highest quality, and introduced us to an unknown, unspoilt area full of character and historical interest

Fantastic holiday itinerary and experience.

Private Grand Houses of Norfolk. Had five private visits where shown round by owners. (Properties not generally open to the public). Stimulating and rewarding.

In the Lake District we visited specific places connected to the Arts and Craft movement. It was informative in every respect and we had plenty of time to visit at our leisure. The lecturer's input was excellent, knowledgeable without being too academic.

Elegance in Ireland

This was a thoroughly enjoyable and informative visit to the best mansions of the Protestant Irish Ascendancy of the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. The current owners who hosted us at some of the properties told us of the challenges of maintaining these beautiful houses. Coach travel, accommodation and house & garden visits were excellently arranged in nearly every detail and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole trip.

Rating for tour operator:

Booking was straightforward, the tour manager saw to every detail including unforeseen difficulties such as a covid case during the trip; and the lecturer was outstanding, giving us exactly the right amount of information, always absorbing and interesting, on the houses at exactly the right time. He gave two additional evening lectures which were also excellent.

Wonderful itinerary, terrible food and average hotels

The holiday was a tour of the Mediaeval Sites of Central Portugal. The Lecturer - John McNeill was not only extremely knowledgeable and engaging, but also charming. However, the itinerary was rather rushed (six days not enough).

Martin Randall. I felt they were cutting corners with this tour when it came to two of the hotels and the meals, which were substandard for my taste. I was disappointed as I had travelled with the company before and been bowled over by the food and wines on that tour.
