Martin Randall Travels

Having taken a number of trips with MRT, I have always found them to be of a consistently high level - very good standard of hotels, well organised trips and excursions coupled with very knowledgeable art historians. Usually a good mix of fellew travellers.

Fascinating week in a less known part of Italy

Our week based in Trieste explored the region of Italy that prospered for centuries under the Hapsburg empire and included visits to neighbouring Croatia and Slovenia. As always with Martin Randall Travel our tour was curated by knowledgeable leaders well versed in the history of that region. We were based in an excellent hotel and all meals and wines were carefully chosen to reflect the culinary excellence of the region.

This was our third Martin Randall trip and we have another booked. They provide excellence in all departments, from their helpful office staff to their tour manager and expert lecturers who accompany the tour. Nothing is too much trouble and the size of their group is manageable at about 20 participants.

Martin Randall Travel looked after us very well indeed. Beautiful hotel, dinner in excellent local restaurants, time to do a little exploring and to soak up the atmosphere of the towns and villages we visited, including some off the beaten track. If any problems arose - bad weather on one day - they were dealt with immediately, and the tour manager and expert guides were delightful.

Rating for tour operator:

Booking is easy and customer services very helpful, contact is always prompt and with an individual. Tour arrangements are always clear, transport, hotels, visits are well planned. In every tour I have enjoyed, there has never been any problem with timings and logistics. The price of the tour is fixed and what is included is transparent. In my experience and I have travelled widely, the cost of the tour represents excellent value for money. When on tour I have never felt part constrained by being part of a tour group, because tour managers are efficient but unobtrusive, experts tailor their commentary to the interests of the group and respond to their questions. The groups are small enough to get to know everyone and are always people who I have enjoyed meeting and with whom I have enjoyed a convivial dinner.

A cruise down the Rhine with classical music concerts every night

The cruise started in Amsterdam and I joined it with friends I had made during the previous week when we had been together looking at art in The Netherlands. The boat was superb and the meals all excellent. our tour guides were excellent and the lecturer, Dr Katy Hamilton was knowledgeable, engaging and fun. i have run out of superlatives to describe the holiday
