The opera was disappointing as a musical experience, but entertaining for being spectacular in production. Verona is beautiful, our hotel was luxurious, we did special things like going to lunch in an old villa 12 km from the city

Never having visited Munich before, I was unsure what to expect. We wanted to see the passion play and 4 days in Munich was part of the tour. In the company of a wonderful expert guide and a delightful tour manager we fell in love with Munich- it’s churches, architecture, museums, food and beer halls. It’s a city that is full of history with friendly locals. It’s a perfect place for a city break. The main reason for our trip was Oberammergau. We drove through the beautiful Bavarian countryside, into the Ammer Alps. And like the beauty of the countryside, the wonder and brilliance of the passion play did not disappoint

French Gothic - a small group tour of gothic cathedrals in northern France, expertly led and delivered. Quite a full itinerary, but with some downtime and enough comfort as well as plenty of good food as part of the holiday. An excellent introduction too to this lovely area of rural France!

A guided walking tour to historically important country houses in Derbyshire

The lecturer was enthusiastic and approachable. The walks were graded so participants could assess them against their abilities. The tour manager pre-empted questions and requests as if psychic!

We visited a variety of places from Roman sites to 20th century art galleries, with much emphasis on the Anglo-Saxons and stately homes of later centuries
