A cultural tour efficiently organised and faultlessly executed

We cruised on the Rhone between Lyon and Avignon, stopping at frequent intervals for guided visits to interesting local sites and buildings and to daily concerts to hear music in authentic surroundings.

Brilliant. Thoughtfully planned & executed in every detail. Excellent hotel, educated, interesting fellow travellers, outstanding lecturer - extremely learned, but with a sense of humour which saved us from preciousness. We enjoyed learning so much. Rating for tour operator:

Offers exactly the sort of holidays we love. Only recently discovered Martin Randall. Everything is planned and executed effectively. We are grateful not to have to work out everything for ourselves any more. Although the cost seems high, in the event it is not because of the careful & rigorous planning, the absence of hidden extras, the lack of time-wasting and the absolute joy of it all!

Morocco, interesting, well paced and varied, brilliantly guided, great food and hotels, excellent company.,

Our small group of 22 started out from Tangier, working our way to the fringe of the Sahara via Fez and ending up in Marrakesh. I cannot praise the people who came with us.Our tour manager was calm, competent and friendly. Our specialist lecturer knowledgeable and entertaining. I cannot praise the people who came with us.Our tour manager was calm, competent and friendly. Our specialist lecturer knowledgeable and entertaining. Our key local guide was outstanding: friendly, pro-active, definitely above-and-beyond. Hotels were all great with the best last: a small hotel made up of several restored town houses. Highlights? too many but loved sunset over the dunes, many of the souks, kasbas and medinas we visited and some spectacular mountain passes. And the other people on the tour were great too - as a singel traveller I really appreciated their company.

Rating for tour operator:

Martin Randal run small specialist tours in a range of categories - mainly within a few hours flying in distance. They clearly research their itineraries very carefully to ensure a well paced and varied experience with everything (and it can be a lot) fitting together seamlessly. they employ excellent people both at the home office and on the tour ( their own tour manager, a specialist lecturer, the local guide who travels with the party and incidentally very good drivers). I have traveled to India and Morocco with them this year (2013) and both trips have been wonderful, hassle free, well paced, just perfect.
