The Cave Art of France tour with Martin Randall Travel was led by one of the world experts in his field (Paul Bahn) visiting no less than 9 caves in 6 days and experiencing extraordinary access to fascinating archaeological sites. The whole tour was well planned and organised, a memorable experience.

I have taken 2 tours with Martin Randall Travel this year - 2 of many (perhaps 30) over the last 25 years. What makes MRT stand apart is that they treat travellers as intelligent adults with good general knowledge - and then impart interesting and stimulating additional information from experts in their field, on tours which are very well planned and organised.

This was a very special holiday in that there were13 of us who enjoyed the company of an excellent tour leader and manager who accompanied us to Wright’s beautiful homes, studios, commissioned houses, chapels and other buildings in the states of Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Illinois. The tour began in Pittsburgh and ended in Chicago, both exciting cities architecturally and we were able to focus on other architects apart from Wright and in stunningly beautiful environments both rural and urban. Many of the sites were visited by private arrangement and, certainly, it would have been very difficult to plan and manage such a tour as an individual traveller without the expertise of Martin Randall. The choice of sites, hotels, mode of travel and day to day activity was perfect. We were accompanied by a professional - an architect who was knowledgeable and personable - and this enriched our experience of Frank Lloyd Wright.

Martin Randall specialises in cultural tours, be they historical, artistic, musical. They are tailored with great care and expertise allowing travellers to experience special places and events. Their group numbers are generally smaller than other operators which avoids the feeling of being herded from place to place. Hotels are always of a high standard and the attendance of a tour leader and manager makes for an efficient and professional service.

This was Martin Randall's Cotswolds Choral Music Festival - a series of performances over 5 days by outstanding musicians that were held in large parish churches and other venues in several small to medium sized towns in the Cotswolds. Participants stayed in one location, choosing from 3 towns/villages and 5 hotels. I chose one of the two hotels in Lower Slaughter, a quintessential Cotswolds village and was very happy with my choice.

This was my fourth trip (from Australia) with Martin Randall over some years. Their level of organisation and attention to detail is always excellent. Their speakers are very knowledgeable and approachable. All staff are very helpful and pleasant. I always enjoy the company of the other participants.

This was a short holiday, packed with beautiful visits. We had two visits to Siena, one to San Gimignano and one to Volterra. In each of these we saw wonderful frescoes, fine churches and the magnificent cathedral of Sienna, among other things. We ate at excellent restaurants and we stayed in a very good hotel. The sun shone every day. It was a lovely little holiday.

Michael Douglas Scott is a very knowledgable, amusing and skilful guide. He spoke for the right amount of time: long enough for us to assimilate and remember what he said but not too long which would have meant our concentration would have lapsed. He allowed the right amount of time for refreshment breaks which made it a very pleasant holiday.

I went on Samarkand and Silk Road Cities tour in Uzbekistan in May 2025.

This was my first trip with MRT following a recommendation from friends who did the same tour with MRT. Extremely well organised from start to finish and very informative tour thanks to an excellent expert speaker and guide. I travelled on my own but enjoyed meeting other fellow travellers and 6 months later I am still keeping in touch with many of them. All you need to do is make it to your outbound flight on time - the rest of the time you don't have to think about anything other than soaking up the sights and the information provided. All you accommodation, meals, transport and transfers, entry to sights are taken care of and in case of any mishaps, you have a tour manager travelling with you who is tasked with making sure everyone is looked after and enjoying themselves. Yes, there are chaper tours out there but in my experience you get what you pay for and as a solo traveller I felt completely safe travelling with MRT.

I have had four trips over the past two years, and all were top-notch. All were well designed to see remote or inaccessible places and buildings, or enjoy first class musical concerts. The hotels, meals, transport and administration were all exactly what was needed, and most welcome.The tour specialists have all been the best you could have wanted; helpful, polite, accessible and most important of all, really properly expert. You learn so much from them ! No half measures or "winging it", and all were linguistically gifted. And they welcomed questions, and were most open and tolerant. I cannot imagine better ones for the tours/trips I took. I would do them all again !

Martin Randall is a top level, and top quality operator. They do what they promise, and usually much more. I travel alone, and I note how open, well behaved, and usually interesting the other travellers on the tour are. They add to the enjoyment. The managers and tour specialists are extremely good, well chosen and reliable. They are good value for money in all ways. I recommend them wholeheartedly, and hope they may continue to offer tours for many years to come.
