Civilsations of Sicily

Trip of a lifetime with fantastic tour manager and very well-informed cultural guide. We gained a great understanding of the history of Sicily and what produced its most important cultural icons.

Walking and Art in Umbria

Daily walks along the forest or country footpaths coupled with the art of Piero della Francesco and contemporaries found mostly in churches.

Rating for tour operator:

Extremely efficient, courteous and professional in all the booking and organizing. When challenged with impossible logistics to get back to London due to the Queen's funeral they scrambled to make alternate arrangements for both the group and some individuals.

Tour of Art Caves in France

Our guide was Paul G Bahn the eminent pre historian. From the second day to the seventh we visited various caves in the Dordogne as well as in some cases accompanying museums. The weather was perfect, the mix of fellow group participants really good; Paul’s early evening lectures very informative, food and accommodation at a high standard.

Martin Randall. TBH, my mum did all the booking, but I am now interested in travelling with them myself on future tours. Also, I think pretty well all the other travellers had been on multiple previous Martin Randall tours which speaks very highly to the organisation's merit

Another Wonderful Martin Randall Holiday

I took part in the Martin Randall Music Festival - Music Along the Danube. It was excellent; excellent river cruiser including accommodation, food, services and amenities. The music and the venues were of a very high standard, and the locations were fascinating. The organisation was excellent and the attention to detail of the fist order. A thoroughly professional approach made for another wonderful MRT holiday.

Cultural tour of northern Germany, focusing on the history and legacy of the Hanseatic League

We visited the Hanseatic towns of Lubeck, Rostock and Stralsund, looking at churches, museums and civic architecture, from medieval times to more recent history e.g. the legacy of the GDR period. We stayed in excellent hotels and enjoyed local cuisine.

Opera at Verona and so much more

Fantastic 4 night trip to Verona. 3 nights at the opera and 4 mornings visiting special places in Verona, churches, museums and just strolling through the streets with our expert guide. We also ventured outside Verona to Villa Arvedi for a tour followed by a delicious lunch.

Martin Randall were excellent providing an expert lecturer and also a tour manager. Nothing was too much trouble, including transport just for my husband and myself to Venice when BA cancelled our flights and we rebooked from Venice unlike the rest of the party who flew back from Verona.

Archaeology made accessible and fascinating to amateurs

We went round a variety of sites + St Magnus Cathedral and visit to the Italian chapel (very moving). Got a feeling for life as lived in Orkney

Glutted with Gorgeous Sights

We began with some cultural highlights of Munich and its surroundings, then made our way to Oberammergau via the fascinating castles of Landshut, Neuschwanstein and Linderhof. Rating for tour operator:

Martin Randall always has excellent lecturers and Tom Abbott is possibly the best, at any rate one of the most popular. The nuts-and-bolts side of things is always well done as well (we had a very good tour manager who saw to it that where possible we had refreshment breaks in nice places, etc.). The standard of hotels and restaurants is high and the cultural side is beautifully planned, often with the most impressive events coming at the end. The other people on the tour always seem to be congenial, so meals are a pleasure.
