First class admin throughout - prepared to go the extra mile. Excellent and helpful tour leader. Well put together trip, well thought through with some lovely touches which was excellent value.High quality and standards throughout with some top notch included meals.

Two weeks in Japan were executing flawlessly by InsideJapan Tours. We particularly liked our tour leader on the ground -- professional, knowledgeable and easily adapted to challenges presented. We'd use them again in a heartbeat.

IJT made it easy, do your homework up front about where you want to go, how you want to travel and just let the agent know. They drafted a few itineraries, did lots of local research about the things we wanted to do, then when we decided on the final itinerary, they provided us with a holiday info pack which covered EVERYTHING we needed to know and more. Train times, local points of interest, opening times, what to eat and where, how to get there etc..... take it or leave it of course, but whenyou are short on time this stuff is invaluable . Highly recommended. We had a great trip to Japan, and IJT made it Japaneasy (groan!)

Second to none.

Visiting Japan engages with all your senses. The sights, sounds, tastes, smells and even the touches all made for a sensational experience. Inside japan were superb - in tailoring a holiday, providing superb information and offering excellent support. The people are wonderful and helped to make our experience. Our food experiences were excellent. The sights were so varied - from the spiritual to the brash lights, the mountains to the tailored parks, from walking the old highways to riding on the smoothest fast trains. Everything is such good value too - with many entrances fees either free or a couple of pounds. We had a great holiday, would love to come back, and would recommend to anyone who has a sense of adventure.

Myself and a friend travelled to Japan as a (belated) fiftieth birthday treat. Having dreamed of visiting Japan since childhood, we spent a week in Honshu (the Japanese 'mainland') seeing as much as was feasible, without spending all of the available time just moving from place to place. Clearly we could only sample a little of each place and there was never going to be enough time to visit all of the highlights, so we chose one or two particular sites to visit at each day's destination, giving us a taste, so that we could choose where we would like to return to on a later trip. We focused on spiritual sites and gardens. (We were both exhausted from stressful work situations, and, additionally, for my friend, from the recent sad loss of her father.) We were fortunate enough to be able to time our holiday to catch the tail end of the cherry blossom season, and to celebrate my friend's birthday in the peaceful sanctuary of a Shingon Buddhist temple lodging. We flew in to Tokyo and spent two days there, before travelling by bullet train and local trains to Nara. After a day and night enjoying the wonderful historic sights in Nara (and the cheeky deer in the park!), we travelled to Koyasan for another day and night. (This is where we had the privilege of staying in the temple lodging - an unforgettable experience.) We then travelled on to Kyoto for the remainder of our week. We spent the first morning with a private guide in Kyoto to help us to find our way around and to plan the next day's excursions/site seeing, followed by a tea ceremony experience in the afternoon. We spent our final day visiting the bamboo grove at Arashiyama, shopping for traditional Japanese crafts, visiting beautiful gardens and temples, finally wandering home through the darkened backstreets of Gion, hoping for a glimpse of a Geisha before we had to pack to fly home from Osaka early the next morning. Japan will leave a lasting memory of its delightful people, wonderful food, beautiful gardens, fantastic (cheap!) public transport and lovely temples and shrines.

Inside Japan Tours put together the itinerary for our trip, based on our particular requests, booked the flights and accommodation, the rail travel, guiding and tea ceremony and provided rail and subway passes for our city stays. They also provided maps, comprehensive information packs on each destination, and a backup service in Japan should we need it. Their planning and information was so detailed that the backup was entirely unnecessary, but it was nice to know it was there if we needed it. As an entirely independent traveller prior to this trip, I cannot praise their friendly, helpful and professional service enough. Their extensive local knowledge made them the ideal people to help us to arrange our trip. I can't wait now for the next one - I think it might be to Vietnam....

The company took time to understand what I wanted from the trip, the group size was perfect and the itinerary was very varied, but with flexibility built in if you wanted to do something extra. The tour leader was very knowledgeable and went to great lengths to ensure we had a smooth trip and many memorable experiences.
