India and the Marigold Hotel a wonderful experience!

Informative and supportive guide whose personality just made the whole experience wonderful. Would definitely recommend this holiday to others, but a post tour chill out is required as the pace of the tour is fast. Would recommend Wild Frontiers to other travellers. The group was just a good size to bond, share stories and support each other.

Brilliant introduction to India on 'The Real Exotic Marigold Hotel' tour

This tour covered the main cultural highlights of the 'Golden Triangle' and Rajasthan - the Taj Mahal, the historic bazaars in Jaipur, the Hindu pilgrimage centre of Pushkar and the beautiful lake at Udaipur. It was themed around the movie 'The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel' so it also included stays at Ravla Khempur, AKA 'TBEMH' and Castle Kanota, which was the Viceroy Club in the film. Ravla Khempur is in fact a rural hotel (unlike in the film) from where we visited the local village and learned a lot about rural Indian life.

It was the first time I have travelled with Wild Frontiers and I was very impressed. Their groups are small (maximum 12 people). Everything including all meals and water is included in the price; most meals were at local restaurants rather than at hotels. Their pre-departure information such as the tour dossier and suggested packing list were excellent. I found the office staff very helpful when I had queries.

Real Rajasthan - a life-changing experience.

I've just returned from a whistle-stop tour of Rajasthan with Wild Frontiers - visits to cultural centres, palaces of breath-taking beauty, nights in quirky, sumptious havelli's - all mixed in with chaotic tuk tuk rides, bazaar shopping, Hindu blessings and privileged insights into the daily life of villagers and rural school children. Daily lectures from Ashish, the tour leader, ensured that my travel journal was filled with details about modern Indian life that I would never have gathered on my own. This trip was a privilege and a blessing rolled into one amazing experience.

Rating for tour operator:

Wild Frontiers go the extra mile to ensure that every step - from booking to return flight - is handled in a personal, supportive and extremely efficient manner. The trip itinerary ensured that we had the opportunity to visit the main cultural sights - but more importantly it gave us unique opportunities to sample everyday Indian life. Their ethical approach allowed us to make effective contributions to the communities we visited.

Oman Desert Adventure - superb in every way.

A cleverly planned itinerary enabling us to experience so many aspects of Oman, culminating in the mesmerising Empty Quarter - certainly off the beaten track & camping is definitely the way to do it. Great guides who also managed to rustle up delicious food!

As always with Wild Frontiers, all the planning, thinking and organising before and during the trip is done for you. So, hassle free and great fun. Not my first WF trip and definitely not my last.

Beautiful deserts in Oman

I went on a private group to Oman organised by Wild Frontiers. The itinerary and organisation of the trip was great. We had a really fun guide who showed us how to bash sand dunes. We had 5 nights camping which I was a bit nervous of but as it was the only way to see the desert, I made sure I packed lots of wet wipes. The camping was actually fun and 2 of the nights was by an empty beach stretching for miles. There was a shower bag which allowed us to wash off the salt after swimming in the sea. We also came across an oasis in the desert where I was able to wash my hair. The nights camping in the desert were magical. I never knew sand dunes could be so beautiful. Watching the sunset on top of a sand dune is unforgettable. At night, the sky was full of stars and we even saw shooting stars. Admittedly, camping is not for everyone but if you are ok with going to the loo in the wild and using wet wipes, you will be well rewarded.

Persian Explorer

Wild Frontiers gave us a wonderful experience of both the country , the people , and the culture of this beautiful country . As a single woman tourist , I never felt anxious in any way . All the Iranians I met were friendly and helpful . I have waited over forty years to see the architecture of Esfahan it could have been a bit of an anticlimax , but it was the reverse. !

Thanks to our excellent guides and planning by Wild Frontiers, we travelled in numerous forms of transport [including a flat bed truck] to enable us to experience as much of the country as we could in a short time. Lakes, rivers and countryside. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets, vibrant food markets, fascinating workshops and the general hustle and bustle of everyday life, together made a very memorable trip.

Rating for tour operator:

This was the first time we had traveled with Wild Frontiers. They provided two excellent guides who together made the trip run very smoothly. Booking was easy and straight forward and they were always available to answer any queries. We would be happy to book with them again in the future.

It was made even more pleasurable by our local guide/tour leader, David Reyes, who made every effort to introduce us to the real Guatemala, its people, customs and food. Whole days were spent without seeing another tourist and by interacting with local people off the beaten track. In fact every day had at least one 'wow' factor and we engaged in many different activities, including trekking, coffee picking, chocolate making, boat trips, eating street food, enjoying magnificent sunrises (after trekking up a mountain in the dark!) and sunsets (by a beautiful lake watched by a basking crocodile!)

Rating for tour operator:

I have travelled with Wild Frontiers before this trip and have always appreciated the small group size, the knowledgeable guides, the varied itinerary and their ability to take us off the beaten track and away from other tourists. I will certainly travel with them again in the future.

Christmas on the Nile in Egypt, including a small-boat cruise

One of the attractions of this trip was that, as a group of 6, we were able to visit places off the beaten track e.g. an island community near Fawza, the camel market at Daraw, that larger groups could not. The busy time in Luxor and surrounds was compensated for by the relaxing time on our dahabiya. The itinerary was otherwise quite full, but well planned to enable us to see all the relevant sights and sites. I would recommend this to anyone ...

The busy time in Luxor and surrounds was compensated for by the relaxing time on our dahabiya. I would recommend this to anyone interested in Ancient Egypt who doesn't want to be part of a large crowd of tourists.

Gorillas (and a volcano) in Africa's midst

The trip was definitely one of the best I have been on, in part because it was so well planned. The itinerary gave us something enjoyable every day, which is no mean feat when the highlights of the gorillas and the volcano are so spectacular. The accommodation far exceeded my expectations and the fact that everything including border crossing went to smoothly is little short of astonishing. The itinerary gave us something enjoyable every day, which is no mean feat when the highlights of the gorillas and the volcano are so spectacular. The accommodation far exceeded my expectations and the fact that everything including border crossing went to smoothly is little short of astonishing. I know that this is almost entirely due to the enormous amount of work put in by yourself and Yvan's team, which is very much appreciated. Yvan was the perfect guide, calm, knowledgeable, unflappable and unfailingly helpful (especially after the flight cancellation).
