A Fabulous Adventure

We spent a week in Sudan combining the archaelogical sites with meeting the wonderful Sudanese people. It was a very special trip - enjoyable and educational.

Wild Frontiers really looked after us very well and everything had been thought out, but I didn't feel over protected. They got the balance just right. I've done a few group tours over the years and this was by far the most impressive

A wonderful tour through some of the most remote areas of NE India and Burma

One of the main draws of the trip was the opportunity to visit the various tribal areas -- where we had an opportunity to experience the colourful traditions that are quickly disappearing. These included the spectacular tattooed ladies and the tribal elders in all their finery. We travelled through spectacular scenery, stopping off at typical villages to see how the locals live. We also had a chance to do some hiking in the mountains -- including the Mt. Victoria area. The trip included some time in beautiful Bagan with its wonderful old temples and a highlight tour of Yangon.

Rating for tour operator:

Wild Frontiers offers small-group tours to a long list of interesting destinations. It specialises in off-the-beaten-track places and real adventure travel. Its prices are all-inclusive (aside from air fare), which makes budgeting easy. Its pre-departure service is excellent with in-house staff always happy and available to provide information about trips on offer and help with visas, etc. The main thing is one always feels safe on WF trips and knows the company will do its upmost to handle any problems that might occur. This is a travel company one can really trust.

India in Slow Motion

We travelled with Wild Frontiers to small villages and towns where we saw no or very few tourists. We felt that we were seeing the real India spending two or three nights at each destination. Our guide Tej and the driver were exceptional. A wonderful experience.

Remarkable tour of Darwin's Ecuador and Galapagos

10 days on mainland Ecuador mostly in the Cloud Forests and Andean communities. Some high altitude trekking. The Humming Birds were magical. Travelled the Avenue of the Volcanoes and visited Quilatoa volcano - a stunning lake in the crater is deep blue. Some of our group did the "Iceman Trek" at Chimborazo - trek from 4200m to 4800m to see the last iceman cutting blocks of ice from at the glacier - load on to donkeys to sell at local market...

Rating for tour operator:

Wild Frontiers are probably the best Operator I have travelled with. They are not the cheapest but they do include so much more than the others. Generally, accommodation and food are top quality, or if in remote locations the best available - you sometimes have to sacrifice some things for an adventure. Their customer service is superb and their knowledgeable people know what they are talking about.

Fabulous India

As a first time solo traveler and a first time visitor to India my experience couldn't have been better. A group of 12 interesting people led by a highly experienced and personable guide. We saw palaces and forts, bazaars and tigers, met and learned about the local people, their beliefs, traditions and beautiful country.

Off the beaten track in Gujarat, India

Two weeks touring Gujarat, India. Highlights included visiting Tribal villages in the north to explore Tribal textiles, visiting Jain temples and one of the oldest civilisations known to man. Accommodation was mainly in Heritage Hotels - i.e. homestays with Maharajas which added a unique dimension. Gujarat is not yet geared up for tourism the way other parts of India is, so now is a great time to visit.

I chose to go with Wild Frontiers from reading the itinerary and understanding the local support in place. Unlike most travel companies, Wild Frontiers has an office in Delhi plus local agents all over the place. This means that should any back up be needed, it is there immediately. Our bus was new and had wifi (!!), our driver and helper were lovely and our guide just terrific. The pre departure info was spot on and all arrangements went well. I can recommend Wild Frontiers and I have made another booking with them.

2 weeks in Castle Bijaipur over christmas and new year with a brilliant group of people and much shared laughter. Sadly my boat didn't really get started for the new year swimming pool boat race but what fun that was. Terrific food and a lesson in how to make it with curry for christmas lunch. Delicious! The staff spent the whole day decorating the castle for the new years eve party and we had such fun buying Sari's and turbans and therefore needing to be dressed for the occasion as we couldn't manage to wrap all that material round properly ourselves but it did still all stay attached as we danced the night away. The food was great and i'm sure the twice a day yoga on the roof was responsible for keeping the thickening of my waist sufficiently well toned that it didn't show. Would i recommend this trip? I would indeed.

Rating for tour operator:

I was impressed by the organisation and information from Wild Frontiers and the attention to detail. Our tour guide was perfect for the job and coped brilliantly with a very varied bunch of people. Coped may be the wrong word as she seemed to have as much fun as we did. I will certainly use this company again.
