Our tour operator took the time to visit us in our hotel twice joining us in our evening meal.Nothing was too much bother for her and she arranged a small reception( providing a cake) when she became aware that we were celebrating a special event

Rating for tour operator:

The flights and hotels were all good, although on the return trip BA from Heathrow to Glasgow was over an hour late. Tangney Tours were efficient and helpful. Some of the luggage was badly delayed on the outward flight and it took too long to sort this out, although it eventually arrived. The Spiritual Director - Fr John Farrell - was excellent. The local tour guide was patchy.

Many thanks for your comments. We investigated the baggage issue and it was due to the delayed flight from Scotland to Heathrow. BA did delay their flight to Tel Aviv for you, but could not guarantee that the baggage would make it, which unfortunately, it didn’t. We are glad you enjoyed the trip overall and hope to welcome you again soon.

The Perfect Spiritual Renewal

It was perfectly planned and executed by St Bernadette's Trust and Tangney Tours. The flights were comfortable and well managed, the hotel was superb and the activities in and around Lourdes were excellent.

It was good to see the personal involvement of the Tangney Tours Staff at all stages, even the welcome aboard the aeroplane! It was clear to the pilgrims that the copany reps were tohand and they were frequently liaising with our organisers.

Exceptional experience. It was my first pilgrimage and I would certainly be interested in future pilgrimages.

We visited almost all the most important Christian sites in the Holy Land. It was a profoundly moving spiritual experience. There were places that were so crowded that the atmosphere was anything but spiritual but Galilee in particular lived up to expectations.

Out tour guide was very knowledgable and recounted the history of the Holy Land in an absorbing way. He maintained good time keeping within the group. He gave advice on our personal safety when we were walking, and overall took good care of the pilgrims.

John Tangney had organised several weekend breaks on the Continent in recent years but April's effort was longer in time and distance.

The pilgrimage was tailor made to suit our requirements staying for three nights at the Ramada Hotel in Nazareth and four nights in Bethlehem. Nazareth was chosen so we could socialize with our Catenian Families and provided an excellent base to visit Tiberias, the Church of the Beatitudes and Tabgha. where Mass was celebrated at the Primacy of Peter and the Sea of Galilee. The next days journey took us to Capernaum, Mount Tabor with Mass celebrated at the Church in Cana so we all could renew our marriage vows. An evening reception with our Nazareth Catenians was held at the International Centre Of Mary of Nazareth with its wonderful roof top garden and Chapel overlooking the Basilica of the Annunciation. Following Sunday Mass at the Basilica and an excellent family barbecue in the Ramat Hanadiv Nature Park our coach took us to The Manger Hotel in Bethlehem where we would stay for the next four nights. An early start on Monday Morning took us to St. Catherine's Church and the Nativity Church with lengthy queues to negotiate in order to view the birthplace of Jesus. Visits to the School of Joy and St Martha's House were appreciated by pilgrims and the residents all eager to meet with us and share our friendship. Tuesday after passing through the check point which separates Palestine from Israel, we travelled to Jerusalem and our day began with a walk along the "Via Dolorosa". The Stations of the Cross took on a sober meaning knowing that we were walking in the Footsteps of Our Lord. were sharing in the passion of Our Lord. Mass was celebrated in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel and free time was available in the afternoon to visits sites in the city or shop in the Bazaars. In order to view Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives and a visit to the Pater Noster Church an early start was planned with Mass at the Basilica of Gethsemane and the walk following Palm Sunday Route took us to the Chapel of Dominus Flevit and the location of the last supper. Thursday came all to quickly and following our transfer to Jericho we celebrated Mass at Bethany Church. A long coach ride through the wilderness took us to the banks of the River Jordan, somewhat disappointing to find a muddy stream instead of pure clean running water. We then made a short visit to the Dead Sea before returning to Tel Aviv Airport for the return journey home.

Rating for tour operator:

Tangney Tours proved to be very experience operators and in conjunction with Laila Tours provided a memorable pilgrimage. The Hotels were excellent with plentiful and varied buffet menus to suit all tastes and helpful staff to carry the luggage to and from the coach. The coach transport was modern and the driver considerate to other road users. We had a first class courier, Ibrahim Salameh whose wealth of knowledge on the many religious and historical sites we visited was astounding. At all times Ibrahim looked after our well being , provided bottle water for the journeys and ensured that we had accommodation together whenever we stopped for lunch. An excellent ambassador for the tour company.

the whole tour was a joy from beginning to end, and we saw so much that connected us more closely to our religious beliefs

it was a pilgrimage to the Holy Land, and the tour included all of the main places we wanted to see. there was plentiful time at each location and our tour guide provided excellent commentary and guidance throughout. It was more than a holiday, it was a once in a lifetime experience.

Tangney Tours in the UK and Laila tours locally had both worked to ensure that we had an excellent itinerary and all arrangements were made to exact detail. the entire tour worked like clockwork. the food arrangements and the hotel accommodation were all perfect and the coach transportation was excellent. Our guide went the extra mile to ensure we were all comfortable and safe.

Uplifting

The weather was fantastic. Hotels were good but the company of my fellow pilgrims was wonderful. There was a good mix of spiritual and social. Lots of walking. Auschwitz was chilling - how can people be so evil?
