I go on a pilgrimage twice a year to Lourdes. This was my second this year and I absolutely loved it.

I use Tangney Tours twice a year and will do so in the future. They are so experienced in what they do.

This is a pilgrimage, a spiritual journey. I have health issues and my wife has mobility issues. We are well catered for.

This was a pilgrimage to Lourdes run by The Catholic Association who have Tangney Tours as their operator. There are a large number of people in a half a dozen groups including youth, disabled and learning difficulties. The range of competencies is extensive and Tangney understands and operates successfully with all of these.

Our Pilgrimage to Lourdes was spiritually uplifting and moving. It was everything we dreamt it would be and more. Our health care was supported and each day was organised and an itinerary posted to guide us each day. This was extremely helpful. Our Toure Guide made herself available and always answered our calls. We were emersed in Lourdes and felt truly Blessed in this most special place. We spent time st the Grotto and drank the Holy Waters. This was most special and moving. We will take Lourdes and the special people we met in our hearts forever.

We were a happy group determined that all enjoyed the experience. Some were (fortunately) very experienced with language skills and a good knowledge of Rome. Our courier was a last minute replacement who lacked experience of pilgrimages and Rome. This was not her fault, but it made for some stressful situations. These were all rescued by members of the group - for example, making sure that enough time was allowed to get the group to a destination; making sure that bookings were made for the group to take part in previously promised activities; getting people safely into taxis when the bus ran out of time.

It is impossible not to enjoy Rome, especially with such a lovely group. But I think we were sold short by the operator. The inexperience of the courier impacted the group as above. Also, the food in the restaurant for our evening meal was very disappointing - bits of meat and potatoes - not what we had expected in Italy, where simple restaurant food is usually tasty and good value. The hotel was basic, but was well positioned for the Vatican.

The organisation of the travel was reasonably efficient, including the check-in. (See comment below for a major concern). The pilgrimage itself was a wonderful and uplifting experience.

On the whole well organised. However, I was a little concerned when a set of my travel documents (with my home address on the envelope) was received by somebody else on the pilgrimage. Fortunately, that group's leader knew who I was. I did receive a set at my home address so wasn't without any documentation. Otherwise it could have been a very different story. I mentioned this to Tangney at the airport but have not received an explanation of how this happened. I was concerned as I believe this is tantamount to a data breach. Hence, the rating given.

I did a voluntary work as a nurse helping the sick pilgrims of the .Catholic Association pilgrimage .It is a avery fulfilling voluntary work as my faith is uplifted and be able to help ,meet , service people from all walks of life, in different cultures which is so amazing . Be able to appreciate God’s creation , appreciating the kindness of all the people I meet while I was on this pilgrimage.

I only avail flight and I was not house in the hotel , but over all. I find it satisfactory even it’s a bit costly.

Spiritual the holiday was very rewarding, both mentally & physically The travel arrangement wasn’t very good First day of travel we arrived at our hotel nearly midnight (one day lost) Last day of travel was just after breakfast and we we’re home for lunch (one day lost) Given the clientele all been of the older generation and don’t need big meals I and many of my fellow travellers having to go back to the hotel for a three course lunch It would be better if we could be offered half board

To and from the airport was organised very efficiently The representative at our hotel was very good and managed to sort out any problems we had

Tangney Tours cannot be faulted. From start to finish I did not have to think about anything and was able to concentrate on my Pilgrimage- thoroughly well fed!

Tangney Tours just quietly get on with the logistics and one cannot imagine how they do it all!
