A very interesting pilgrimage visiting Rome, Oreveto, Assisi and Loretto - guided by the brilliant Sinead who is a credit to her profession

The local guide was excellent, and all the arrangements worked nicely. We had exceptional access to sacred sites, and were delighted to manage the aim of visiting all seven sites of Ecumenical Councils, including the primary pilgrimage goal of Nicaea.

Tangney Tours did a good job. There was room for improvement in two areas. Firstly, we really needed the detailed itinerary much sooner. It came only about 10 days before the trip, which wasn't nearly enough time for making our own domestic arrangements. Secondly, the choice of hotel for the final stay was very bad - it was a terrible touristy package holiday place, where they made us wear wristbands, and played loud music day and night - quite unsuitable for a pilgrimage.

It was led by Father Luke who was very informative about the places we visited and the people we met. The local guide was very good. It was also a blessing to be able to have a service every day and to have a mixed group of Anglicans and Roman Catholics. The hotels were all of a good standard and the melas out were delicious and well organised.

It was easy to deal with the tour operator in th lead up to the trip and there was good support throughout via the local guide.

It was a great pilgrimage and the organisation and hotel was faultless.

Although Tangney Tours is a little more expensive than others it is the preferred provider for the Military Pilgrimage because they are the best operators if something unexpected happens. We had no mishaps but when planning for large numbers knowing that the tour operator can be trusted to deal with things is hugely important.

Wonderful weather made for a wonderful pilgrimage
