We booked to go on a pilgrimage to Lourdes, My partner and I wanted my mother to experience the spiritual joy of Lourdes which we did, it was a joy to be there and spend time in prayer and contemplation. All of the above was out of the hands of the tour operator. However the Hotel meals were quite shocking. We were careful when choosing the hotel out of the options we were presented with. Checking the web site and looking at menus and photos from the hotel. I can only assume that Tangney tours must try to maximise there profit from the guests in there care. The food was so bad that many of the guests did not turn up for meals as the days progressed. Breakfast was however basic but fair. Toast coffee croissant juice. Quite adequate. Hotel rooms were clean but dated. Signs of a room fridge space but no fridge. Air conditioning that one had to request at reception to operate, with unusual high temperatures it was necessary. Bar staff were polite and friendly, however the tangneys rep was invisible. We saw them at check in and when the coach collected us to return to the airport.

Second booking with this operator and will not be booking with them again. I would advise future travelers to avoid this operator wherever possible.

We recently stayed at the St Frai in Lourdes. This is our third year staying here and as much as I know what to expect the food this year was awful. Fortunately we are in a position to be able to eat out but for the price we pay this should not be necessary. I understand the food is provided by the sisters but it really needs to improve. Thankfully bread and butter is always available which was a staple for my elderly relative.

I was a volunteer with the pilgrimage to Lourdes. Excellent week, hotel good.

Reps in Liurdes extremely helpful. Booking staff in England helpful. Small hiccup regarding insurance for a friend, contacted by email which did not arrive ?wrong email address. I suggested postal or telephone communication with elderly customers, especially when time is of the essence. Suggestion taken on board. Insurance obtained and all was well.

A wonderful Pilgrimage to Lourdes

Tangney Tours is an experienced operator whom I trust to provide me with a well organised and relaxing holiday. Their guides are professional, reliable and extremely helpful.

Been to Lourdes many times but not with a tour operator.Everything was planned to the smallest detail but we were free to go our own way whenever we wanted

It was a pilgrimage to Fatima, Nazare and Santiago with my parish and not a holiday. We, as a parish, have been going on pilgrimages for at least a decade now and there are regular pilgrims. There are a few pilgrims from other parishes too. It is always a pleasure to be on these trips as we look out for each other irrespective of where we are from particularly the vulnerable.

I have been with this tour operator few times before but this time their organisational standards were very poor. Communication prior to departure, however, was good in providing our itinerary for the trip from checking in to return. There were 40 of us in total. We were informed our guide would travel with us on the flight to and back. Some of us were not met on arrival at the airport and didn't know where to get our couch so we lost time and didn't attend the first event on our pilgrimage. Communicating information on the various events was poor. I must say the hotels and their staff arranged by the tour operator were excellent, however, we were not informed by the tour operator or guide that we would be dining outside on one occasion.
