This was our first safari in Africa and the itinerary was put together by Bill Adams who is extremely knowledgeable and clearly experienced.Tena Tena was recommended by friends but Bill suggested the other camps. All 3 camps were very different but each one excellent and without fault. The guides were all passionate about the Bush and impressive in their skills and breadth of knowledge. James at Chamilandu particularly stood out. The concentration of game that we saw in South Luangua was incredible and way exceeded our expectations. The Lower Zambesi provided a good contrast and the highlight was spotting 5 different leopards on our last evening drive, two of whom were mating. Chiawa is very slickly run, the canoe and river trips not to be missed. It is hard to imagine a safari experience to beat this holiday.

Fantastic wildlife viewing in East Africa

We spent 3 weeks in East Africa, visiting Rwanda to see mountain gorillas and golden monkeys, two safari lodges in Kenya, and then Zanzibar for some culture and beach activities. Because we were at several different locations there was a lot of logistics to catch flights etc but all the connections worked perfectly and our guides and handlers were knowledgeable, professional and courteous.

Rating for tour operator:

The company was professional and listened to our requirements, coming up with suggestions that suited our interests and requirements and putting together an excellent package that was cost effective and logistically sensible. The people we met in East Africa were all very complementary about the company too - saying that they were good to do business with, knew what they were doing and wanted to support the travel industry in the countries rather than trying to make money.

Jane understood our special requirements and took tremendous care in ensuring the needs of all members of our party, aged between 4 and 75, were met. She arranged a wonderful itinerary and created an experience of a lifetime. As an example of her attention to detail champagne and birthday cakes awaited us at several of the venues.

This was my second trip with Safari Consultants and once again was outstanding in every way. The safari experience at Phinda Forest Lodge was superb and the game viewing with brilliant guides and trackers enabled us to have fantastic photo opportunities. The accommodation, food and service from staff could not have been any better. All the arrangements for flights, car hire and accommodation on the remainder of our trip were faultless. I would highly recommend Safari Consultants for their friendly, knowledgeable and extremely professional approach.

Rating for tour operator:

Bill Adams and the staff at Safari Consultants were outstanding in customer service, assuring that the Selous Impala Camp was the experience that I was seeking. Nic & Crystal were outstanding hosts at Impala Camp. The Great Migration tour with Russell Gammon was most rewarding. I once again truly enjoyed the time spent with Russell and look forward to my next tour with him. The game viewing was outstanding. I didn't realize all the wildlife I saw until I got home and printed out photos of all the different animals we saw. The crossings were everything and more than I was expecting. The staffs, guides, security, etc. were all outstanding in their jobs. They made the trip very pleasant and enjoyable. Great job my all involved. I would strongly suggest Safari Consultants to any and all travelers that are looking for an excellent opportunity to view a wide range of African animal life. Great photo ops.
