The trip, Cruising the Dodecanese, was great--educational, fun, interesting people and great food. There was plenty of time to relax, learn about Greek archeological sites and enjoy sampling Greek foods at the many local restaurants throughout the islands . Most of all, our guides (Maria and Heinrich) were knowledgeable, fun to be be with and helpful at every turn, as were the captain of the gullet and crew. I would recommend this trip to anyone.

Cruising the Dodecanese was an extraordinary adventure. Every day we visited astounding archeological sites, swam in the warm Aegean Sea, ate fantastic food on the boat and in local restaurants, visited towns small and large as well as fabulous local museums. Our expert guides, Heinrich and Maria, made greece's pre-history and history come alive, engaged us with their their vast knowledge, enchanted us with the telling of mythological tales, and kept us laughing the night away with anecdotes, puns and a fantactistic supply of delicious local wines.

This is our third gullet trip with Peter Sommers and they just keep getting better and better. We brought the new catalog home with us and are already fantasizing about our next trip.

It delivered all that the operator had promised: a beautiful boat taking us quietly across turquoise sea with beautiful island views (and a water spout and some dolphins), rural walks through rugged landscapes, detailed exploration of historic and pre-historic sites with an expert guide, good food, comfort, swimming. And we had quite a few laughs.

Highly attentive, with both a vision of what the holiday should comprise and meticulous care over details.

We went on Peter Sommer's Walking and Cruising Holiday in Southern Dalmatia. The gulet that we stayed on for seven nights was well-appointed and comfortable, with extra touches such as hair dryers in the private bathrooms and an espresso machine available for use 24/7. Our guide, Dr. Helena Tomas, was very warm and knowledgable. She led us on hikes where we enjoyed both beautiful scenery and interesting cultural and archaelogical sites. The gulet's crew was also very friendly and capable. Overall, this was a lovely experience.

Peter Sommer stayed in touch with the our guide, Helena, throughout the tour, to make sure that all was going well. The owner of the gulet also visited to make sure that all was up to snuff. Overall, this was a very well organized and managed tour.

One week on a wooden gulet with 9 other passengers and an expert guide cruising the coast of northern Dalmatia was a great experience. Visiting the larger cities of Zadar and Sibenik was good but the opportunity to visit smaller towns and islands and stopping at random to swim in the Agean sea made it a memorable experience.

This is our fourth Peter Sommer tour and each has been a great experience. We enjoy the informal atmosphere of a small gulet with 10-14 passengers and a knowledgeable guide. Peter takes a personal interest in each cruise and great care to ensure that everything is done to make the trip as enjoyable as possible.

On the gulet trip with Peter Sommer Travels I found a combination of unpacking once, the complete relaxation on the gulet, walking, learning and visiting the historical sites and great mix of like minded people a great experience. Life on board...healthy meals, quality wines, comfortable cabin, lots of water activities when the weather permitted, enough space on board to have a bit of solitude and relaxation when required...... This is all I could want; I could have stayed forever and will certainly be back for the third time! Our guide was magnificent; his knowledge and passion and ability to inspire us is outstanding. Organisation was superb.

Aboard a Turkish gulet we departed Bodrum and visited nine islands including Leros, Samos, Rhodes, Symi, Chalki, Kalymnos, Patmos, Nisyros, and Kos before finishing at Marmaris. We were guided by archaeologists Heinrich Hall and Maria Girtzi. It was a detailed visited of ancient sites and museums with opportunities for other activities including swimming in the Aegean.

Everything was well planned and executed and the guides and crew were superb.

This is my third trip with Peter Sommer, the tours never disappoint, the excellent standard of the guides, accommodation, food and general ambience of the boat and fellow passengers. Onshore excursions were of the highest standard.

We joined a small number of travellers on a 30m gulet to explore the islands in the Dalmation coast for 1 week. An experienced and knowledgable guide provided good insight to the archeology and history of the region, while the crew and chef looked after us very well.

Peter Sommer operates small gulet based history and archeoligical orientated in the Eastern Mediterrain. We have been on three trios so far, Turkey, Greek islands and Dalmatian coast.
