My wife, Regina and our friends Marina, Ricardo and Silvia and myself spent a very enjoyable week on the gulet Sun World IX, cruising the Carian Coast. We learned a lot about the events and personalities in the Carian region cerca 400 BC, in an entertaining manner, from our expert archeologist, Olivier Henry, who is in charge of the excavations at the nearby Carian site of Labraunda. We particularly enjoyed visiting Kaunus and Knidos. Our experience on board our gullet was also excellent, including the well-appointed cabins, the choice of anchorages, sailing when possible, good food and services, thanks to the efforts of our captain Tayfun, cook Mustafa and crew members Cumali, Kadir and Koray. And, finally, everything ran very smoothly due to the impeccable organization of the logistics by our tour manager, Cem Yucesoy. A big thank you to all of you from all of us!

A wonderful experience. Excellent expert guide who made the sites come alive with his detailed knowledge and great communication skills. The local tour manager was very efficient and considerate, and happy to explain Turkish customs and way of life. The gûlet was beautiful with a fantastic crew, and the food was absolutely amazing

The history,, the accommodation, the food, and the staff were all superior to my expectations. We sailed, swam and ate our way through a significant part of mans history.

Peter Sommer provided everything necessary to give us a superior experience, Cem the leader and Olivier the historical guide were both charming and knowledgeable. The captain ran a good boat and the vessel itself was superior.

As always a wonderful holiday beautiful food lovely scenery relaxing swims and of course visiting ancient sites with Peter and Ore. I have never been disappointed with these trips they have always reached my expectations and beyond. Peter's knowledge of ancient Turkey is amazing. What else could you ask for. Oh I know the lovely people on the trip most of whom have become good friends.

This was my first experience with Peter Sommer and it totally exceeded my expectations. The tour manager was very efficient and made sure everything ran smoothly. We had an archaeologist accompanying us to the various sites whose wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm made the visits very special. The crew were very friendly and the food was delicious. This gullet-based tour visited many important archaeological sites, particularly Greek and Hellenistic-Roman era (450BC-200AD), located along the Lycian coast of Turkey. It includes time for swimming, taking in the local culture and cuisine and for improving understanding of the development of human civilisation in the Mediterranean.

Peter Sommers are a very professional company and the trip was very professionally run, with archaeological experts to help inform and guide. Accommodation onboard is comfortable and all meals provided during the trip.

We had talked about visiting the Amalfi cost for more than 30 years without getting around to it. This trip disk jot disappoint as a brilliant way of seeing the area and getting to understand the historical context. Really excellent organisation throughout. Boat was very comfortable with fabulous crew who really went the extra mile to make sure everything went well. The sites were breathtaking and exceeded my expectations, especially with the excellent information and context provided by the guides. To top it all our fellow travellers were such good company. Now just to plan another trip!
