Peter Sommer Travels did and absolutely amazing job in every aspect of this holiday.

Visited Roman forum, coliseum, Capitaline Museum, and ancient Roman marketplace. The tour was well coordinated with the places and history of what was happening at this time.

Peter Sommers had to rebook three different guides due to COvid complications and amazingly, the experience was smooth and flawless considering the last minute changes in the guides. Our guide was knowledgeable and entertaining and willing to adjust his presentation to our interests.

Our trip was unusual in that it was during the covid pandemic and so our group was very small and it was the first trip in some time. This did not diminish the experience at all. The crew and guides were warm and welcoming. We had a wonderful trip from beginning to end. We were well taken care of: from being greeted at the airport and transported to the beautiful gulet, to the amazing meals, the guided hikes, and the more than comfortable accommodations. The gulet crew was top notch . Peter and Cem ( the Turkish guide) were so enthusiastic about each day's journey and genuinely concerned for each guest's experience. Peter has so much knowledge and experience and is able to distill it down to something lay people can appreciate. Each day was so different from the other and we learned so much. No question was silly or stupid and Peter and Cem tried to answer all of them. The hikes were all do-able. Coming back to the gulet each day was so nice where we'd have a swim, a cocktail and wonderful dinner. All the good was fresh and healthy as well as delicious.

Peter Sommers Travel was very responsive as we had many questions regarding the trip itself and the covid situation. We had several phone calls as well as email conversations. The trip itself was very well organized and everything was taken care of. They communicated well with the group so we all knew what to expect and there were no surprises.

Wonderfull time on the boat. Everything from our cabin, to the walking tours, to the food was great. Almost everyday after having a great breakfast on board we would hike to hidden archeological sites. Come back to the boat, swim in the warm Mediterranean Sea, have tea and them have relaxing time before a fabulous dinner.

The operator was excellent. He took care of everything from our accommodations to the meals (which were excellent) to the actual tours. Peter is an excellent archeologist who was able to find hidden treasure and explain in detail what we were seeing and all the history concerning our findings. We hope in the next year to take another of Peter's tours through the Greek islands. .

my wife and I have traveled to Rome many times and were looking for something truly different…..a history/archeological focused experience with a small group, led by someone who truly understand the history….”not just a “show and tell”tour . Our guide had a PHD in ancient history, was always interesting , and took us to places we have not visited before. Highly recommend this trip !!!!

Peter Sommers does a terrific job in organizing trips that are historically focused…..but also always fun, exciting and interesting. All of his trips provide deep insights into the history and culture of the area which most guided tours just cannot provide. This was our 4th trip with Peter Sommers and all have been outstanding!

Two friends joined me on this Peter Sommers Cruise this last September 2021. . After postponing this cruise due to Covid we decided to just go for it. One of my friends summed it up. “ It was a trip of a life time for her. Fabulous boat, crew, guides and other passengers. We all had a great time. Beautiful clear warm water. Great swimming and kayaking just about every day Historic sites that were almost for our eyes only. Turkey is a fabulous country many unexpected surprises for all of us. If this sounds good don’t wait go for it Exceeded my expectations for sure…Bonnie Levy

Another wonderful Peter Sommer Adventure, my fourth. Filip, our professor and guide is an encyclopedia of knowledge and loves sharing the information. Traveling by gulet is a wonderful way to visit different towns in Croatia. The Crew, Mareno, Joseph and our chef made it an exceptional tour.

Peter Sommer Travels has been a five star experience for me. The small groups, the excellence of of the professional guides, the accommodations on land and sea and the easy accessibility in arranging a tour have all been positive experiences with Peter Sommer.

Fantastic experience with two warm and extremely knowledgeable guides. Many highlights, great camaraderie amongst group members, and many special experiences.

Peter Sommer handled all the details for me seamlessly, after I signed up to come on the tour last minute after my mother was not able to attend. All booking details, transfers, etc. were effortlessly handled and all I had to do was show up. The quality of the entire staff was very high.

It was an very memorable experience and Peters lead Mislof of excellent. Highly recommend the experience they offered.

mislof was a wonderful and knowledgeable your man who connected with all of us daily. We had some weather that changed our plans and Mislof made it seem less and took care of everything.

For my wife and myself, this was the second of two week-long back-to-back cruises along the Dalmatian coast with Peter Sommer Travel, this one from Split to Dubrovnik. The same high levels of educational richness and quality of on-board experience that we enjoyed on our first week continued right through the second week. Happily, we had the same wonderful cook who continued to amaze us with excellent meals, the same captain who kept us safely afloat and on-time, and the wonderful first mate, Marino, who was not only good natured and thoroughly competent but could also made an amazing aperol spritz. Our guide for this leg of our trip was Mislav, a native Croatian with advanced degrees in archaeology. He was absolutely wonderful--energetic, extremely knowledgeable, funny. Like our guide for the previous week, Mislav communicated his own intellectual curiosity and his thorough knowledge of Croatian history without ever seeming pedantic. I failed to stump him with any question; he knew everything I wanted to learn more about. The trip was very rich in history, both ancient and modern, which was exactly what I wanted. It was also an exciting way to see the coast, a large number of islands and the natural beauty of the Dalmatian area. Swimming around the boat was fun, although the water was a little cooler than expected. Our cabin was beautiful and efficiently designed so that even though it was compact, we had everything we needed for a comfortable trip. This was a great, exciting adventure and I would repeat it in a heartbeat.

Everything about this trip was well organized and professionally run. It had a nice balance of visiting archaeological sites with a fun and exciting way to see the Dalmatian coast. Each day had a different mix of visiting sites, museums or cities with swimming from the boat, great food and time to relax and read or socialize. I felt that Peter Sommer had given a lot of thought to making the trip both educational and memorably fun.
