Lighthouse Way self-guided walking tour in Spain

We spent 5 days on this coastal walking path. Luggage was transported from accommodation to accommodation, so all we had to carry was a day pack with food, water, and rain gear. Accommodations and some meals were pre-booked by the tour operator, as were taxi transfers to and from the start/end points.

Rating for tour operator:

Everybody we dealt with was very professional and pleasant. E-mails were answered to promptly. Explanations were clear. They provided a mobile app for this walk that included everything we needed to know for trip preparation and the actual walk. The map on the app, with detailed route itinerary was very accurate. If we got off the track at any point, the app would very quickly notify us that we'd taken a wrong turn. Having said that, the waymarks on the trail were well-situated and clear, so we mostly stayed on track without much confusion.

On Foot Holidays delivers again in Tuscany

Over eight days, we walked country roads and paths through vineyards and olive groves, arriving each day in some marvelous spot, usually with a commanding view of the surrounding area. On Foot chose fantastic accommodations and made everything seamless and easy for us. The new app they are using is really great!

Second trip with On Foot and we'll be back for more. They deliver consistently and never miss a beat. Leading up to the trip, it doesn't matter who in the office caught my email, they responded quickly and thoroughly. Their local contact was also notable for quick and helpful responses (on the rare occasion that more was needed). They are just the best -- and also a very good value! Have already recommended them to numerous friends.

Fantastic!

We were on a self-guided walking holiday in the Ligurian Hills, Italy. Our tour company made all the arrangements for our accommodation and transport of luggage. They provided paper route instructions, as well as a very good GPS map. All the hosts were welcoming and the food was excellent.

Rating for tour operator:

‘On Foot’ provided a tailor made walking itinerary with an excellent mobile phone app with very accurate maps directions and local information for each day.. This app has a feature which bleeps when you go off trail, very reassuring. A printed version of all this is also provided. The trails were very interesting and enjoyable, the accommodation was very comfortable, and the luggage was always there each day when we arrived. Communication was perfect and we had a local experienced guide in the area who provided suggestions.

Good food and accommodation with very friendly hosts. It is a shame that the weather was not good (remnants of Storm Boris) so we didn't get the views. The days are quite long and one in particular has a significant altitude gain so you do need to be fairly fit, but this 73 year old managed to full route ok. Whatever the time of year remember your waterproofs!

Dordogne France Walking Holiday

Fabulous 4-day/5-night walking holiday in the Dordogne region of France. Stunningly beautiful and varied landscape featuring medieval castles and villages, farms, and wooded areas in a river valley and high plateaus. Weather in late September was picture perfect. We walked between 8 and 11 miles each day (about 5-6 1/2 hours for us).
