Another faultless holiday delivered by On Foot

We chose the 6 night option which allowed for circular walks at the start and end of the route - well worth it as both were spectacular. Stunning scenery, good walking and a great series of villages to vist and stay in. Highly reccomended for anyone interested in wine and good food too! We also added a day in Avignon - equally worthwhile...

We have taken seven successive holidays with On Foot. And for good reason. They do what they say they will do, efficiently and with exemplary customer service.

Castles on the Rhine walk

We walked the well marked trails from Bacharach to Koblenz following On Foot's directions, using both their printed information and their app. The scenery was amazing. The accommodations were excellent with friendly and helpful staff. Our On Foot local contact kept in touch with lots of encouragement. We enjoyed the trip very mcuh.

Northern Portugal with On Foot by Betsy W, 23 Jun 2026

Gorgeous Portugal

We had limited time so we took a shortened version of OnFoot Holidays Northern Portugal route beginning in Brufe and ending in Santa Maria Do Bouro. The route was well-marked, the instructions clear, and the views were outstanding. We appreciated the meticulous attention to detail from the OnFoot staff with lodging, food options and transportation to and from the planned walk. They planned the trip so well that it was highly enjoyable.

I noted some of this above - the tour operator was responsive to questions, and provided timely answers. All aspects of the walk had been attended to - all we needed was to use the information provided and all else was taken care of!

Wonderful walking holiday in the beautiful Basque Country

For the first few days, walking through incredibly beautiful countryside, we hardly saw a soul and we loved how every day was completely different. While the route was challenging for pensioner knees, the terrain was mainly very good underfoot, so no scrambling, and the views were absolutely worth the effort. We came home with a real sense of achievement and a commitment to tackle one of On Foot’s other Spanish routes.

Having just done our second trip with On Foot Holidays, we honestly can’t rate them highly enough. On Foot has a seriously impressive commitment to customer care and attention to detail and this shows through in every aspect of the holidays that they create. From the time and advice given to us when we were trying to decide which route to choose, to the pre-holiday information and in-country support, we absolutely knew we were in safe hands. On Foot helped us to tailor the trip with a few extra nights in some locations and, as in our previous trip to the Amalfi Coast, all of the accommodation was fantastic - even in the most rural of locations. So nice to be able to hand that over to On Foot completely and just turning up to find your luggage installed in your room. It was also wonderful having the in-country support from On Foot’s local contact who was able to help us with shortening options on a couple of days as well as providing timely advice on places to eat. It was great knowing that there was someone on the end of WhatsApp should we have had any problems along the way. Absolutely brilliant!!

Mountains and flowers

This was a wonderful holiday in every way: fine scenery, varied walks, excellent accommodation, and friendly people. A particular treat for us was the tremendous profusion and variety of wild flowers in early June. We had wondered whether language would be a problem, but there was never any difficulty.

We have had many On Foot holidays and have always found them to be reliably excellent. The routes and accommodation are well chosen, the notes and maps (and now an app as well) providing all the help required. There is a choice of walks on some days and shortening options if needed. They also provide a wealth of interesting background information. Communication is always prompt, helpful and friendly.

On Foot Holidays, my fourth holiday. The routes are well planned to enjoy amazing views along quiet footpaths, the family run accommodation is interesting and varied, each with a personal touch. Information about the route includes eating out suggestions and points of interest is always most useful. The customer service from the whole team at On Foot continues to be exemplary.
