Alpes Maritimes self guided walking

A friend and I did an Inn to Inn self guided walking tour from La Brigue to Menton over six days.

Rating for tour operator:

On Foot Holidays is the best operator I have experienced yet. It was my third self guided walking tour, and while the two previous operators were fine, On Foot performed to an even higher standard. They obtained excellent acommodations, provided us with an excellent app and were always available and responsive. When we added an extra day to the beginning of the trip at the last moment, they promptly made plans for us with two options of circuit tours and updated our holiday app. Our culinary preferences were accurately conveyed to all hosts and we were updated about ever minor changes of plan as soon as was possible (e.g. a restaurant closure)

Amalfi Coast with On Foot by Canadian hikers, 29 Oct 2025

Hiking the Amalfi Coast.

This was a bucket list holiday for us and it lived up to our expectations. Such a beautiful area and the hikes were diverse which made it so much better. All had opportunities for incredible vistas and challenged us in different ways. Whether an urban route with LOTS of stairs or out in a forest which was more rugged. Such a great experience.

We had heard about them through a friend who had used them last year. Very responsive in all our communications and provided good advice about what to expect. Very accommodating as we made a couple adjustments to the accommodations and length of the trip. Provide incredibly detailed info on the trip as a whole and each daily segment, plus a gps app tailored to our specific trip. Several of our friends have already asked who we used.

Fantastic experience walking the Amalfi Coast with On Foot Holidays

We had a nine-day walking holiday organised by On Foot with five different hotels and On Foot organising our luggage transfers while we walked between villages. All hotels were amazing.

From start to finish On Foot Holidays could not have been more helpful. From the very first conversation we knew we wanted to book with them because they were so knowledgable and really cared about what we wanted to get from the holiday. On Foot was so responsive and all communication rapid and clear. We had to postpone our holiday for personal reasons and On Foot arranged that with no additional cost. Cannot praise them highly enough.

Cilento National Park by Long Islander, 27 Oct 2025

Beautiful walks in Cilento National Park

Three of us did the self-guided six-day walk along the coast and between hilltop towns (staying in Palazzo Doganna in Agropoli, Il Gentilcore in Castellabate, Il Antico Convento in Roca di Cilento, Il Mulino agriturismo outside of Galdo, and Mareluna in San Marco). The walks were so stunningly beautiful, it was almost hard to believe it was real. The food was delicious (except for the hotel restaurant in Castellabate -- find a restaurant in town)...

The Southern Cotswolds

What a gem of a walk. Idyllic England the whole way. Gloriously green rolling hills, drystone walls, grazing sheep, and Medieval country churches. The route successfully steered clear of the region's more trafficked paths. Outside the occasional village, there was scarcely a soul to be seen. The route successfully steered clear of the region's more trafficked paths. Outside the occasional village, there was scarcely a soul to be seen. The app did a great job of pointing the way and highlighting the sights. The lodging was clean and comfortable; my luggage was waiting; and there were plenty of options to eat well. With its history, architecture, and vibrancy, Bath made for a fascinating end. I spent two additional nights there. This was my fourth walk with On Foot. As always, they made the arrangements with efficiency, thoroughness, clarity, and encouragement. All I had to do was get to the start and walk -- wholly unburdened of worry and want. I enthusiastically recommend the walk and the team.

Rating for tour operator:

As a client, all I had to do was get to the start and walk. In advance, the On Foot team made all the arrangements and updated me as they did. On the walk, the app provided the schedule, walking directions, navigation on a map, background on the sights, identity of the lodgings, and suggested dining options, On Foot's complete reliability and impressive technical achievement made for a great holiday.

The Lighthouse Way was a challenging and very rewarding walk. The variety of walking and lodging made each day a little different.

On Foot Holidays did an excellent job curating this walk, from the taxi that picked us up at the train station to take us to the beginning of the walk to the list of hotels that had laundry available to the detours away from the cliffs for those who are scared of hieights. They ALWAYS very promptly answered my emails.

Another great trip with On Foot

The four of us had a wonderful time hiking in the Alpes Maritimes. The views were spectacular, all our accommodations were excellent and the whole trip was very well thought-out.

Northern Portugal with On Foot by Happy Hiker, 24 Oct 2025

Delightful hiking in northern Portugal

We spent about a week hiking in northern Portugal. We enjoyed the countryside - a combination of farms and more wild mountains. Accommodations were excellent and food was good. Trip logistics were well planned and we encountered excellent hospitality along the way. We enjoyed the quiet of the route (only saw 3 other hikers the whole time).

Rating for tour operator:

The tour was very well organized with an extensive paper packet and all pertinent daily information available on our phones, including GPS navigation. On Foot Holidays saw to all the details, providing good recommendations for our dinners (even taxi to restaurant one night) as well as including excellent lunches for the trail.

Each day's walking was beautiful and different from the one before. We walked through forests, across meadows, past olive groves and vineyards, and occasionally through small towns. All of our accommodations were also varied but uniformly lovely and hosted by friendly and caring people who made us feel very well looked after. We frequently take holidays together and we all agreed that this was one of the best, if not THE best, trip we have done.

Rating for tour operator:

The staff at On Foot were extremely responsive and answered all of our questions. The customer service was outstanding and all the communications we received were thorough, clear, and delivered with warmth...we felt that we were talking to friends rather than to anonymous office staff. Our local contact Daniele was also just exceptional, responding instantly to all of our questions and helping one member of our group find alternate transportation options when she was not feeling well. Overall, we found everyone we dealt with at On Foot to be highly organized, reliable, responsive, and personable.
