Dordogne Walk

We've done a number of hikes/walks over the years but this was probably the best. Beautiful countryside, incredible villages that seem as though time has hardly touched them since the middle ages, excellent hotels with some of the friendliest people we have ever experienced on a hike and rhe food! Incredibly good. And of all the tour companies we've used, On Foot Holidays is head and shoulders above them all. The communication is fast, friendly ...

Incredibly good. And of all the tour companies we've used, On Foot Holidays is head and shoulders above them all. The communication is fast, friendly and very helpful. All the nformation sent to use was thorough and detailed. And the app was incredible. If we went even a short distance off course, it would correct us. Really hard to get lost unless you want to! Really happy to have found On Foot Holidays. We're already looking at booking another walk through them..

Rating for tour operator:

Professional, thorough and extremely helpful at every point. The best we've ever used.

We enjoy the lenght of walks provided and the lovely hotels they find for us to stay in. Hidden Gems in Beautiful Umbria

Taking a self guided walking tour with On Foot Holidays is often exhilarating for many reasons. For Umbria, we found the gems in the unique hilltop medieval villages we walked through, or stayed in. In Labro, where the restaurant had a table reserved for us, was by far the best meal we had this trip in Italy, with a lively and friendly waiter. In Labro, where the restaurant had a table reserved for us, was by far the best meal we had this trip in Italy, with a lively and friendly waiter. The entire village has been restored over the past fifty years by the heirs of the once reigning family, whose castle, and the village, are impeccable. Each day’s walk was varied and beautiful, and the gps and app’s field notes were full of information.

Rating for tour operator:

From the first inquiries about this trip, and all of the 12 trips we’ve had with On Foot Holidays, we know we’re in good hands. There’s never a worry about the information due to their impeccable research, and working with their local contact so that it’s all up to date. We often ask our hosts how they like working with On Foot, and they always smile and say how much they appreciate working with a very professional tour operator. We’re looking forward to as many future trips with them as possible!

Unforgettable Amalfi Coast Journey

My wife and I and our small (6kg) dog completely enjoyed our journey from Amalfi to Capri on foot. Cilento National Park by Todd, 19 May 2025

A New Experience in a Favorite Country

We chose Cilento in part because it’s in a lesser visited part of Italy, with small villages and great walking in between. Since it’s in southern Italy, we were able to start in late March, with cool, overcast skies, lonely walks and welcoming inn keepers. We experienced seaside hugging hills, ridges draped with medieval-aged towns and the summit of Monte della Stella at 1,125 meters. Every day, we knew that On Foot Holidays, our tour operator, ...

We experienced seaside hugging hills, ridges draped with medieval-aged towns and the summit of Monte della Stella at 1,125 meters. At every junction, we knew that we were safe, and our task was to enjoy our holiday.

Rating for tour operator:

After nearly three years and 12 unique and wonderful trips with On Foot Holidays, my wife and I have already booked three more trips, and are enjoying the process of adding more in the future. That’s how highly we think of On Foot Holidays. Everyone we’ve ever been in contact with in their office, for any reason, has quickly responded to our inquiries, and provided clear and concise information. Their pre-trip planning is incredibly thorough, from bus and train schedules, to a taxi connection who’s always, not just on time, but typically 10 minutes early. Their inn keepers are warm and welcoming, and always talk about how thorough On Foot is. We know that each trip is well researched, and that we never have a doubt as to our enjoyment, and most of all, safety.

Absolutely brilliant holiday experience

Our 6 day walk in the beautiful Dordogne was like walking in a dream. Fairytale castles and bucolic villages abounded, strung together by wildflower lined paths in dappled shade. All designed by OnFootHolidays to provide the maximum enjoyment while providing enough walking challenges for the fit and unfit alike.

A lovely week hiking in Northern Portugal's national park

We enjoyed walking on mountain paths, Roman roads, and rural tracks through small villages, farms, and vineyards. Rating for tour operator:

OnFoot office staff were very responsive to all our questions, the pre-booking materials were helpful, and the on-trip App and trail notes provided more than sufficient guidance to ensure easy navigation. The selection of accommodations was first-rate, varying from comfortable B&B's with lovely hosts to lodging in a restored monastery/pousada. The local contact was always available the couple of times we had questions. The tour pricing provided good value for the experience. We'd travel with On Foot again.

4 sheep to every 1 person walking the Welsh Borderlands

My parents and I had a fantastic trip walking the Welsh Borderlands. We got lucky with amazing sunny weather. Traversing the rolling green hills, having delicious beer at the inns we stayed in, and hopping the never ending quirky stiles were absolute highlights of the trip. The innkeepers and staff at Bishop's Castle, Clun, Knighton, Kington, and Hay-on-Wye were kind, thoughtful, and generous. The app through on foot was unbelievably helpful ...

Debbie, the on foot administrative manager, was very helpful and reliable. She was able to help us with all our accommodations and travel needs. Sarah, our local guide, helped us stay on track when we got a little lost from time-to-time. They were all reachable and kind.
