Fabulous itinerary with a number of trails away from the main tourist routes. Fantastic trail notes and information about the towns where we were staying.

Lighthouse Way
We had a great walk along the Galician coast over 9 days. The route, the accommodations and our hosts were all fantastic.

My wife and I have done 16 walks with On Foot Holidays. Need I say more. The arrangements have always been first-class and the fact that the walks are a bit off the beaten path is a major attraction. And we are pondering our next trip with them already!

Perfect variety and excellent accommodation
We loved each aspect of the holiday. Naxos and Amorgós offer a really varied diet, but in both we stayed in delightful hotels, with very helpful hosts, and the walks were ideally suited to our group, which needed differing degrees of arduousness. The walking notes were comprehensive and accurate, and we only wishes we had longer on the second island.

At every stage, they gave us really useful information, and were very kind and understanding when some of our original group had to drop out, and then when another friend asked to join us at the last minute. We never needed to contact their representative on Naxos, but all the people we dealt with were remarkably helpful.

There were a variety of walk options each day, ranging from steep-stepped climbs with breath-taking drops to gentler options or even rest days with bus transport to the next stop. We are proud to say we managed all the steep climbs and the rewards included a wonderful sense of achievement, amazing views, picturesque villages, watching the olive harvest, swimming in clear blue sea, wonderful flowers and wildlife - and of course the delicious local food. We were very well supported by On Foot. They sent us clear walking instructions and maps, phone numbers for our accommodation and a local rep, timetables for local buses, and inside information on the area we were visiting. They even helped us arrange an extra day sightseeing at the end; we chose Vesuvius and Pompeii, but Herculaneum, Naples and Capri are all nearby. I would thoroughly recommend the Amalfi coast if you enjoy walking - especially in spring or autumn. And I would definitely recommend On Foot to make the holiday as enjoyable and stress free as possible.

Listened to our needs when we booked - flexible about dates and length of holiday. Knowledgeable about the area - paths, accommodation, food, local interest Each B&B booked was different but all of a high standard, in a good position, friendly and helpful Information given on paper and as a phone app in plenty of time - routes (including options for easier days if needed!), maps, bus timetables, essential phone numbers. Thoughtful extras in the info pack such as a waterproof map case and customer reviews of local restaurants. Local rep available for help Respond well when things go awry; we managed to make a significant route mistake one day but were able to rescue the situation easily by liaising with the local rep and an extra bus trip (an experience in itself!) Overall the staff come over as a friendly, reliable and helpful team with a good eye for detail

fantastic trip walking around Lake Maggiore
My husband and I spent six days hiking in the Lake Maggiore and Lake Orta region of northern Italy through On Foot Holidays. It was a terrific experience. The hikes were well-planned with beautiful views and a range of terrain and environments. The hikes were well-planned with beautiful views and a range of terrain and environments. The places we stayed ranged from a working farm (a wonderful experience with warm hosts and great food) to more traditional hotels which were wonderfully gracious and with their own personalities. One arranged for off-season kayaking on Lake Orta which was a highlight; another, on the top of Mottarone, had a nine table restaurant that is sought out by people both throughout the region including cities like Milan and Turin.

I cannot endorse On Foot highly enough. In the planning process, they were wonderfully responsive, knowledgeable and flexible. The travel package itself provides incredibly detailed directions, wonderful choices for lodging, comprehensive information for all logistics, and anticipates every potential question. On Foot even gave us the train schedule to Milan for use after our trip was over (even though outside the scope of their trip). And what is particularly cool about On Foot is even when you are going to an area known for tourism, they find a way to keep you somewhat off the beaten track so you feel more genuinely and directly connected to your surroundings.

On top of the world
We loved the space and walking high mountains and enjoying spectacular views. We were often alone and able to appreciate the open vistas that surrounded us. Iconic villages sheltered us at night and of course we ate the local food and loved the variety of flavours and the the delicious wines.

On Foot Southern Tuscany's wine and hilltop towns

From the first phone enquiry, all the On Foot staff were enthusiastic, friendly, had a sense of humour and listened to small queries to reassure us completely. Those of our group who used GPS were talked through it. The information packs were excellent with historical information and very useful recommendations. The walking notes were perfect and plainly compiled by someone who knew the route intimately and who had a sense of fun!

A beautiful adventure in the Alpes-Maritimes
Perfect weather, lovely accommodations, fantastic food for a 5 day adventure from La Brigue to Menton. Easy to follow route descriptions and directions and challenging, but very manageable walks each day.

On Foot was just so very responsive from the moment we started discussing with them what route we should take through the planning stages as we asked questions, to being very available to help sort out missing luggage from the airline while we hiked on to the next stop. I can't say enough about how much they care that their clients have the best possible adventure. Now that I have seen how well planned these vacations are, and how reliable their accommodations and dining are in terms of cleanliness and value I would not hesitate to book another trip through them. It just takes the guess work out of everything, and I feel like I would never worry about whether a hotel was clean, safe to stay at with my children, etc.
