This was one of the most exhilarating holidays we have been on with Onfoot Holidays and we have been on many!! From the deserted white sandy beaches washed by Atlantic rollers to the boulder fields of strange rock formations into woodland filled with birdsong then onward to spectacular and exciting gorse covered cliff-side paths - The Lighthouse Way proved to be a wonderful experience. The variety of wild flowers in May provided a kaleidoscope of colours along the whole route and the helpful green wayside markets led us from lighthouse to lighthouse. The variety on the walk was matched too with the variety of accommodation, always of great quality, welcoming and of course with our luggage sitting in our rooms! We enjoyed meeting people from all over the world, crossing paths and briefly sharing the experience but ultimately we had the days to ourselves to enjoy the noise of the sea and the beauty of the landscape. Our route led us finally to the “end of the world” at Cape Finisterre. What a wonderful climax to the holiday and a beautiful place to stay and see the sunset at the end of a fantastic walking holiday.

Onfoot holidays have proved themselves to be a wonderful tour operator, providing a highly organised and yet personal service every time. The routes are interesting and well planned ( we love to still do it the old fashioned way and use the excellent written notes and maps with a bit of GPS thrown in if necessary)the accommodation always of great quality, sometimes quirky and extremely welcoming. (We relish being off the tourist routes and enjoying the hospitality of our hosts and the challenge and fun of communicating when English is not always spoken.) The information we get in advance and the support of a local representative mean that we have no trouble understanding the local area and get to eat in some fabulous cafes/ restaurants. Nothing is ever too much trouble and all the people we meet along the way (from taxi drivers to the accommodation hosts) obviously have a great working relationship with the team at Onfoot - who will at sometime and in some combination have walked the walk and talked the talk!!! We know we can certainly book with confidence and know we’ll be well looked after and have fun! The freedom of walking on our own with the confidence of a warm welcome, eating well and a good nights sleep at the end of the day makes this a truly relaxing holiday - an annual therapy that we just keep coming back to!! When we first planned a hike in Czechia, we knew little about Bohemia. It was an amazing experience! The information from On Foot Holidays took away any apprehension we had. The Rock Cities were breathtaking and the trails easy to follow. We were surprised that more people were not enjoying the routes. We are so glad we discovered Bohemia and will tell others. We then headed with an 9 hour bus ride to Ljubljana. This city was the nicest city I've ever been too, even in the rain. Our hike was for 5 days but unfortunately after 2 days the rain was getting stronger so opted to take a taxi to Trieste. Again On Foot Holidays made the arrangements. Once in Trieste there was sunshine and we loved walking around the city.

On Foot Holidays sent packages about the hikes prior to us leaving Canada. The information relieved any concerns we had about the trips. The maps, accommodations, history, restaurants, walking guides, etc were excellent. If we had any concerns we were able to text the contacts in Bohemia and Slovenia to answer any questions. Once we decided that we did not want to hike in the rain, our contact in Slovenia, Miha Kramberger, had On Foot Holidays make arrangements for us to taxi to Trieste at no cost. We enjoyed Trieste and the sunshine.

An amazing and unique adventure made possible by the On Foot Holidays team. We could never have planned such a successful trip. The hikes were beyond what we expected and gave us the chance to experience waterfalls, limestone caves, lemon and olive groves, and even animals (we saw chickens, peacocks, white bulls, sheep, goats, and plenty of stray cats). And every hotel was perfect - clean and comfortable with great views, friendly staff, and delicious homemade breakfasts. We spent each day up in the mountains quietly exploring the small towns and enjoying ridiculous views (when the clouds cleared), and we rolled into a new tourist town each evening, warmly greeted by hotel staff who were expecting us. It was simply the best time ever, even in the rain. If you're looking for an active vacation jam-packed with new sights and experiences every day, this is for you.

We made one phone call to the On Foot team and everything was done. They sent us a packet with all of the information we needed, including our specific itinerary with accommodations and separate sets of route instructions for each day. The route notes even included information about different things we encountered along the way, such as an abandoned monastery, churches, villas, ruins, and even restaurants and water filling stations in the small mountain towns. In addition to the route notes, the packet of information included train, bus, and ferry schedules as well as restaurant recommendations. One day we got lost (due to a route change caused by construction in a small town), and Mary immediately answered our call and got us right back on track. The On Foot team is thoughtful, professional, and organized, and we cannot wait to use them again for our next walking/hiking holiday.

5days walking with two friends from place to place. Bags taken by transport. Remote areas, beautiful scenery and excellent local accommodation.

Our second walk with On Foot Holidays and it did not disappoint. Just beautiful country, so green and expansive. It is a total escape from city life, noise, and people. So many free range cattle - cows, sheep, horses, and donkeys. A bit taxing on the old legs but very rewarding dinners.

As the first time, they were responsive and thorough in answering questions and providing daily trail and weather updates.

We walked as a group of 4 for six days along the Lighthouse Way in Galicia. The seascapes were breathtaking. We met only a handful of other walkers which intensified the beautiful isolation of some the locations. The local people were extremely welcoming and our accommodation was excellent throughout the week.

We have used On Foot several times and they have never failed to organise a truly memorable holiday for us. On Foot provide absolutely everything we need right from the moment we contact them to arrange our next walk. We are always so impressed with the superb standard of accommodation they manage to secure for us. Nothing is too much trouble for them and whenever we contact them, we are treated with patience, warmth and often humour. On Foot always provide us with a local contact to turn to if advice is needed or problems arise. This time, our contact regularly checked to see that everything was going smoothly. We always feel the success of our holiday is as important to On Foot as it is to us.

This is an excellent walking route with good and welcoming places to stay offering great Ligurian cuisine. The reason it doesn't get an excellent rating is that we were unlucky to run into the recent exceptionably bad weather in north Italy. That made conditions more challenging than you would expect. But in normal circumstances its an excellent option for experienced walkers

Nine friends joined together to do this hiking trip along the Rhine. We have some prior experience with On Foot and liked the guidance given while letting us do our own daily routes. The weather cooperated (60's F) with only one day of rain. Trails were good and the Pocket Earth App was terrific in keeping us on route (better than the written instructions at times). We definitely added time with stops for lunch and most days some of us (me) would take advantage of using a ferry or train to "shortcut" the total distance but in the end we averaged 8 -12 miles/day.

On Foot did a great job of setting up our trip (Inns, hotels, restaurant options, trail maps, GPS apps, etc) and kept us informed about any changes through our local contact, Bea. She maintained daily contact with our group leader and was very helpful.

The self-guided Inn-to-Inn walking holiday in Northern Portugal we booked with On Foot Holidays exceeded our expectations in so many ways. The scenery, walking routes and organization of the whole week were taken care of very professionally; we had no issues with any of this and the turn-by-turn instructions ensured we never got lost. We were met every day by friendly staff and our needs were very well taken care.

Our walk through the Basque Pyrenees to Donostia-San Sebastian was everything we could have hoped for: gorgeous scenery, fine accommodations, and the chance to experience Basque and Spanish cultures in a relaxed, natural way. Every day was an immersive adventure, and we strongly recommend it to our fellow walkers.

This was our third walk with On Foot Holidays, so we knew what to expect: professionalism, attention to detail, and confidence that everything would unfold as planned.
