Hiking the North Italian Lakes
We hiked from Maggiore to Orta. We loved the experience which certainly exceeded our expectations. The scenery, food, accommodation and culture were really great.

On Foot provided great pre trip support. The briefing notes and communications were clear and concise.

Wunderschön!
We're just back from a glorious walking holiday along the Rhine River in Germany organized by the superlative team at On Foot Holidays. After hiking between 8 and 10 miles each day, along lovely trails above the endlessly fascinating Rhine, we enjoyed sleeping in accommodations ranging from medieval castles to warmly inviting small inns. A wonderful experience.

Our notes for every day guided us on the right route. When in doubt check the notes! Our hosts along the route were all very different and therefore all the more interesting. Anyone going on the same journey, don't be afraid to ask about how things have changed over the last few years. for example, ask about the snow 15 years ago and how it compares to now

Beautiful coastal walk and amazing accommodations
We walked the Lighthouse Way in Galicia, and it was even better than we had hoped for. The route was well marked, the directions we received were detailed and careful, and the accommodation was wonderful. We would do it again in a heartbeat.

We began with a wonderful international phone call during which Mary of On Foot gave my family individualized trip recommendations— and it just got better from there. Everything was meticulously organized, the directions couldn’t have been clearer, the local consultant was attentive and helpful, the accommodations were warm and inviting, and all that made the trip perfect. On Foot even took it upon themselves to rearrange our accommodations on their own dime when they realized we were originally booked in a town during a lovely but loud late-night festival.

The Ribeira Sacra was truly a hidden secret and we were so glad we found it.
The walking was varied and delightful, The small hotels were perfectly chosen, all very different and all the better for that. The undoubted highlight was staying at Turbisquedo. An extraordinary house with a fascinating history, brought to life by Bill, its entertaining owner. And his partner made the best supper and packed lunch. A real treat.

Cafes and bars with genial owners providing sustinence to weary travellers. Well directed and varied routes through wooded hillsides, deep luxuriant valleys and across open moorland. Much of the route winding its way along the contours following the astonishingly well preserved Roman road with majestic milestones still guiding travellers after c2000 years. Welcoming hosts providing comfortable accomodation in delightful settings always with excellent restaurants nearby offering fine meals comprising local food always accompanied by the locally produced Vinho Verde and for the following day splendid picnic lunches.

They were excellent. Easy booking with knowledgeable advice. Clear written instructions that did not let us down once. We have done many walking holidays but this was the first with GPS. What a clever thing it is and a reassuring back up.

Fantastic experience in Greece!
It was my first time in Greece and my first time on a walking holiday. The walks were wonderful and took us to places we wouldn’t have found on our own. On Naxos, the Koronos-Lionas Beach walk was our favourite. On Amorgos, the Aegialis Circuit was peaceful and a pleasure to walk. I felt happy while walking. On Foot provided excellent tips and advice including lunch options for the day, which were tremendously useful. If I had more time, I ...

They have this itinerary very very well organised. They’d covered every detail and are very knowledgeable, as staff have been and done the walks themselves. I totally recommend them.

Self guided historic walk Land’s End Cornwall
A glorious mix of challenge, education, luxury landscapes and beautiful accomodation.

On Foot provided excellent pre tour care, very informative and personalised. Self guided notes were generally high quality considering natural environments alter over time. Proactive support from local contact person and subsequent response from On Foot when we were confused about a section of the walk very much appreciated. We loved OnFoot’s honesty and empathy. Accomodation particularly Mousehall top shelf.

Fantastic experience walking the Bohemian Paradise in the Czech Republic
We walked five days while On Foot Holidays arranged accommodation and luggage transfers. We averaged around 16 kilometers each day, with some longer and some shorter. Each day had various historical and/or geological highlights to explore in addition to the walking.

The information and logistics that On Foot Holidays provided were stunning in their detail, completeness, accuracy, and usability. Literally every single detail that On Foot touched worked perfectly. Given the overwhelming amount of information and hiking instruction involved (pages and pages), their success at 100% accuracy is astounding. Every directional detail was spot-on, and with the Pocket Earth app as an easy-to-use backup, we hiked our way through our days without error or concern. Beyond the scope of the hiking details, we also found the information about restaurants and points of interest accurate and very useful. Our local contact was also reliable and very useful. Again, to have that many logistical details fall together so perfectly, well, I wouldn’t have thought that possible. On Foot was amazing!

Wonderful walking in the Ribeiro Sacra region

Very personable and helpful. Our original destination was not feasible and the staff at On Foot suggested this holiday. It was tailored around our schedules and adapted based on local constraints ( music festival limiting the availability of the usual first night stay). Prior to the holiday we received detailed walking instructions and maps, advice on the use of GPS and apps. Information about the area and a tailored itinerary booklet. There was a local contact in Spain, who provided helpful and responsive advice when needed. There were no hitches with the hotel bookings, arranged taxis and the other arrangements within the holiday itinerary. We were very impressed with the professional and friendly approach of the On Foot staff.
