This was the On Foot holidays Basque Pyrenees village to village hike, ending in San Sebastián. There were seven hikes, each with challenging terrain and climbing, and each ending in a beautiful village or coastal city setting.

On Foot Holidays provided excellent support, both in trip planning, and during the trip itself.

We walked for six days and seven nights in lovely Dordogne, starting in beautiful Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne and completing our walk in Belcastel. We travelled through farmland, woodland, walnut groves, and charming medieval villages, and visited a castle-chateau that dominated the landscape for several days. Peaceful rivers, a lovely waterfall, and broad views of valleys and distant hills were our daily fare. Attractive and comfortable lodging and splendid evening meals and breakfasts were superb starts and ends to our daily fare of walking.

On Foot Holidays was attentive to and proactive in addressing everything that contributes to a wonderful holiday. They are knowledgeable about the walk and lodgings and responded quickly and ably throughout the booking process. This was our fourth walk with On Foot Holidays, and not our last!

We hiked the white villages in southern Spain, starting and ending in Ronda. It was a stunning route. The unseasonably warm weather and exposed conditions made for challenging hiking. We were rewarded each evening with outstanding accomodations.

A point to point walking holiday in a generally less visited region of Italy, with baggage transfer, staying in an interesting variety of accommodation.. Excellent support from the travel company and their representatives on the ground. Very good food and wine. Varied scenery and quiet trails.

Walking in quiet, pristine mountains and hills, in unspoilt country whilst staying in unexpected gems. Beautiful rural accommodation with pools and views. Delicious and great value cuisine. Idyllic.

We walked the El Priorat route in September. El Priorat is a stunning area of north east Spain, with a variety of terrain, from rocky hill top paths to forest tracks. There were some breathtaking view points. The route was well planned, with enough of a challenge to make us feel we had earned our delicious meal each evening. The route notes were of their usual excellent standard, and the recent addition of Alpine Quest GPS routes gave an added reassurance on rare occasions when we were unsure of the exact path. Our local contact gave us useful information as needed (eg that the river was passable and not in spate!) and was very knowledgeable and willing to respond immediately to any issues. The accommodation was of a high standard and more than we had expected for such a rural route. The included wine tasting session at Gratallops was a delightful bonus!

This was our eleventh holiday with On Foot so we had high hopes of this holiday. We were not disappointed! The pre-holiday information was excellent, allowing us to make informed choices regarding whether to take public transport or book taxis. Everything worked smoothly, from our taxi transfers, luggage transfers, route descriptions, local contact and hotel bookings. Thank you to the whole team at On Foot. We can't wait for our next trip with you and we always tell everyone we meet who likes walking to look at your website!

We walked about 60 miles over seven consecutive days with between 350 and 800 metres of ascent each day. The route was lovely and quite varied. Some forested slopes, some vineyard covered slopes, gorges and mountain ridge paths. The accommodation was always at least very good with the occasional outstanding. We always ate well. We visited several villages and small towns which all added to the colour of the holiday. We had the services of a local expert who we used very little. We did meet up with her one evening though and it became clear just how well she knew the area. She'd be brilliant if she was really needed. A great holiday and we had good weather too!

All accommodation was well chosen. The routes were all well researched and explained. Luggage transfer was seamless. We always knew what to expect. On Foot are a class act.

Thanks to On Foot we had the most excellent week walking in the Yorkshire Dales despite (or perhaps because of?) the bad, sometimes terrible, weather. Our first day's cab driver gave us the perfect intro to the Dales with so much local knowledge. We loved all the accommodation booked for us and ate very well (perhaps too well!) at the recommended places. And we walked many miles, brilliantly guided by On Foot's detailed notes and the GPS directions, and with a friendly local contact at the end of the phone for advice. Highly recommended.
