This was one of the most interesting, challenging and exhilarating holidays we have been on. It was a hiking holiday booked with On Foot Holiday for the Amalfi Coast, Sorrentine Peninsula and Capri. We could design it to our own specifications so in two weeks spent on the Peninsula we hiked for 7 days and went sightseeing for the rest of the time. During those 7 days - we hiked 117 kilometres and climbed the equivalent of 1,342 flights of stairs through the most stunning landscape you could imagine - houses clinging to mountainsides, serpentine paths snaking through little almost medieval villages and stairs climbing and climbing into the clouds (We kept track do our distances with our Fitbit). That didn't include our most beautiful walk on Capri that was about 10 km all along the Western shore, ending at the Blue Grotto. Our walking notes from On Foot Holiiday were superb and kept us on track - they were so detailed and exact. If we ever felt slightly unsure we could check the GPS waypoints that we had for the trails. The accommodation booked for us was excellent. I can't say enough about how much we loved this holiday - it was awesome in the true sense of the word. Huge thanks to On Foot Holidays for doing such a superb job of planning organizing and implementing All in all this was a most excellent holiday - awesome in the truest sense of the word.

On Foot holidays is a company that operates out of the UK. We founds them by chance looking on the Internet and we liked what they offered. We were very late in booking (only a month in advance) and they were still able to do everything for us at the last minute and were always available by email or phone for questions and last minute organization. The maps and walking notes they provided for us were perfect - very detailed - it was impossible to get lost. They also provided us with bus timetables, ferry timetables as well as train timetables. And as I say we were late organizing this and they got everything to us in Canada in plenty of time - excellent daily maps, and general walking map of the area plus a carrying case to take whilst walking plus copious notes and background material. Plus the accommodation they booked for us was pretty near perfect.

This was a stunning walk with remarkably varied terrain but the constants of stunning wildflowers and surprising bird life which included buzzards, peregrine falcons and woodpeckers. As well as dramatic Rhine views from well above the river, we learned a great deal about this historic and incredibly busy waterway. We stayed in a good selection of hotels along the Rhine: a couple of them produced delectable dinners of Michelin star quality. A bonus of this route was the discovery of several excellent Café Konditorei:with so many kilometres behind us we felt entirely justified in a little indulgence!

This was our fifth "Unspoilt Europe Waiting for You" walk with On Foot Holidays. The walks have always been well organised and live up to their unspoilt Europe billing. Everything we need is perfectly organised: we have access to help if we want or need it but to date instructions and compass have always got us to our destination with some lovely accommodation surprises at the end of the day's walking. We have always found the On Foot staff helpful and knowledgeable and in the case of this holiday particularly so: we had to cancel a walk at fairly short notice last year for health reasons and a great deal of effort was made by On Foot Holidays to unwind a planned holiday and start again with a new booking for some months later.

This was a five day walk along a section of rugged and unspoilt coastline. Accommodation was pre arranged and our luggage was shuttled ahead of us. Onfoot provided maps and directions as well as a booklet of useful and interesting information. The accommodation was excellent and we did not get lost. The terrain, views, ruins and beaches made the walk a great experience.

Onfoot was very helpful and easy to work with. They have a personal touch that gives a feeling of confidence which in practice turns out to be well placed; their organisation and arrangements all worked perfectly. The information they provided was very useful and interesting. They also provided local back-up which was reassuring but not required in our instance.

Walking in the Catalan hills and staying in small hotels and farmhouses. The routes and accommodation were all arranged by On Foot Holidays, with the luggage being delivered each day.

Well organised and very helpful. Everything had been thought through. Passage of information excellent. Good people.

We found the holiday that we wanted originally on Google. On Foot holidays met our requirements but dates and timings for our purpose had to be adapted. On Foot Holidays were able to be flexible . Mary who I originally spoke to was not only happy to try to meet our requirements but also came cross as genuinely excited about what we wanted to achieve and where we wanted to arrive at , at the end of our destination. I did not want to start off and finish at the normal start and finishing points,but On Foot holidays still arranged for couriers to move our luggage onto collection points at Hotels that we did not use. From start to finish our holiday was impeccably organised. The walking routes were finally detailed in not only direction but in detailed description which was passionate about the terrain and environment .even with the prospect of a 10 mile walk most days was exciting when you read the about your planned route. Finally the small hotels that were chosen by On Foot holidays were perfect. Particularly Hotel Fleur des Alpes, where Robbie the proprietor stoked up a log burner to dried out our walking clothes and could not be more helpful. Giving us his phone to talk to Richard. On Foot Holidays man on the ground who was checking up on us and looking into potential hight snow problems for our walk(snowing at the end of May which was not normal for area). He also drove us to the start of our second days walk to save us waiting for the train out of kindness and no monetary reward. Le Saint Yves was also similarly hosted, with M. Tibert moving us to his best table when he found out we were on On Foot Holidays. Great wholesome rustic food and bedding still ironed in house by an elderly relative. In conclusion can't wait for our next On Foot holiday.

Exceptional attention to detail and personal service that We have not experienced before.

Hotel to hotel with luggage transferred by car. Wonderful countryside great food and some stunning accomodation in a rarely visited area. We didn't see the wolves but were assured they were there. On foot provided their usual high quality service. Tough but very rewarding walking. Recommended without reservation

Organised at short notice the On Holiday team were efficient, helpful and supportive.

We have travelled with On Foot each spring for the past 5 of the last 6 years. We find their staff extremely supportive from booking to on the ground. The trail information is informative and consistently accurate. This trip was rate medium-difficult and we found that we had the option to modify each day. The small hotels we stayed in were welcoming and unique. Mallorca was a little warm to begin with in mid May but the weather cooled through our 8 days of hiking. This part of Mallorca is well travelled particularly by Spanish school children on field trips and by German hikers. At times though we were totally alone on the trail. A few days in Palma was a great way to launch our holiday. On Foot does and outstanding job of providing unique trails that often had us departing the "beaten" path and find a unique local trail that offered a quiet passage in the shade. Lemon and olive trees were everywhere.

The team at On Foot are very supportive in making the holiday work for you. Since we travel from Canada, our flight schedule is often less flexible but we are always able to work with On Foot to have the dates we want with little compromise to our hikes. On Foot provides insider tips on where to eat and what sights not to miss along the way. We feel relaxed knowing we have a local support person on call in case we run into any snags with transfers or route planning. Having said that, the trips are so well organized that we merely throw on our hiking boots and head out in the morning with maps and confidence in hand. We can't recommend them highly enough. Our record of repeat trips with On Foot speaks volumes to our enjoyment in the routes they plan. As well as Mallorca we have also travelled to Chamonix, Austria, Trail of Hardy/UK, Vikos Gorge/Greece.

We enjoyed a 6-night walking holiday north of Prague that consisted of challenging walks, varied scenery, friendly people and great local food and drink. We love the exercise from walking, but the local interactions really makes these trips most memorable.

This was our fourth trip with Onfoot Holidays and it will not be our last. We really like the structure of their trips. We like to put in a full day of walking, have a quick shower, enjoy a beer or wine, have a nice meal and repeat without a lot of sit-around time. I enjoy dealing with the entire staff; they are a first-class organization. The literature provided in the walk packets is concise and allows for a greater enjoyment of and appreciation for the locality.
