My son and I enjoyed a self-guided walking holiday in the Apennine mountains. The walking routes were expertly planned by the tour operator, who also booked excellent accommodation in B&Bs or small hotels along the route and arranged daily baggage transfers. The walking was quite strenuous in parts, but was well rewarded by magnificent mountain views.

On Foot Holidays is a specialist walking holiday company. The staff are knowledgeable and very helpful, while their local contacts provide a useful and reassuring service.

7 days walking in Umbria , 4 days in Rome to finish off, walks all well planned and directed , good maps and advice , all accommodation excellent , what's not to like

very professional , would definitely use On foot holidays, again , they planned it well for us and their descriptions were accurate , the overnight accomModation in particular was all excellent and gave a good taste of rural Umbria. We didn't need to access any emergency or special services but I am confident that if we did they would have given us as much help as they could.

This is a superbly planned walking holiday, staying in amazing local inns and B&Bs which you would never find otherwise with delightful hosts, lovely food and wine, and beautiful unspoilt countryside. One day we saw no other human being between leaving our accommodation and arriving at our evening destination, while walking through beautiful mountains.

On Food double and triple check everything to make it all works and is of the best standard.

We thoroughly enjoyed our walking holiday in Austria with "On Foot". We loved the freedom of walking by ourselves using the excellent route descriptions provided. The scenery was stunning and the accommodation was thoughtfully chosen, providing a warm welcome and a true taste of Austrian hospitality.

This was our sixth holiday with "On Foot" and we consider ourselves to be seriously addicted! The service provided by "On Foot" was excellent. We had full confidence in the excellent route desciptions, allowing us to relax and enjoy the walking. A full "Walkers' Pack" was provided giving a wealth of information about the area as well as practical details to make our holiday run smoothly. The accommodation was thoughtfully chosen, to ensure that we received a warm welcome as well as a true taste of Austria. Our luggage was moved for us each time we moved hotels. Although we had no problems, it was good to know that we had the services of a local contact should we have needed it. We have always felt we mattered to the staff at "On Foot" and feel that we know them as friends through e-mail contact. An exceptional company providing an outstanding service. We are already planning our next holiday with "On Foot"!!

We spent 6 days walking in the French Alps

On foot holidays gave us excellent service much more than we expected.

Alpes Maritime was a big surprise for us. Though high season in the rest of France we had this area almost to ourselves and it is a most beautiful area awash with fantastic flowers, butterflies and so much more. Also some completely unspoiled villages and towns with lots of history.

Very thorough and considerate. Information provided for the arrival and the daily walks were of very high quality. All of the hotels looked after us well.

We spent a week walking through the hilltop villages of Istria, finishing at the Adriatic coast.

On Foot Holidays' thoroughness and reliability were outstanding, their walk directions were brilliant, and (and this is perhaps rarest of all) their grammar and spelling impeccable. They were friendly and approachable, and they clearly have detailed local knowledge.

We have just returned from a week in the Bohemian Paradise region of the Czech Republic and thank On Foot for another fantastic holiday. The route was clear, varied with several beautiful castles and other points of interest. To our surprise, the scenery was breath-taking and the people were friendly and welcoming. Language could be tricky, but with a few words of Czech, some schooldays German and gesticulating, we managed to communicate. Another bonus was the delicious and extremely cheap beer!

This was my 6th holiday with On Foot and they are consistently excellent! They managed to change our booking quite late in the day to add another person to our group with no fuss whatsoever. We are always confident that they will pick good (and often quirky) accommodation, including a converted chateau on this trip.

6 day walk through Austria, the weather was perfect for walking, hospitality of the local people really friendly. The hotels were of an excellent standard, I would definitely recommend this holiday.

Another On Foot Holiday in Italy. Planned to perfection, accurate route maps down to the tiniest detail. The hotels were varied and all very comfortable. On Foot kept us up to date with any route changes - a landslide for example - followed promptly by the new route map. The routes were interesting walking through vine yards, lemon groves, little villages, up hills, through rocky paths. A perfect holiday experience without any hitches (as usual). On Foot Holidays have a well informed office, we were able to speak to members of staff who have walked the route and therefore can answer any questions which enables us to adapt the walks as necessary.. Another FABULOUS holiday with On Foot Holidays. We'll be back.
