The tour was Iceland - Northern Lights & Winter Wildlife and it covered all aspects of this extremely well. There were 6 participants and 1 leader who was very knowledgeable of the area and drove the minibus. We had a day of being tourists, visiting a geyser, Gullfoss waterfall and Thingvellier too. The scenery was breathtaking. The second full day saw us on a whale watching boat trip where we were surrounded by orca and saw other whales too. The third full day focussed more on wildlife - the ptarmigan and other birds (including ducks) that we saw were all stunning. We even managed to see the Northern Lights on that last evening - also magical. So several items on my bucket list were ticked off - the holiday was a magical introduction to Iceland and I cannot wait to go back.

Naturetrek focuses on leading wildlife holidays. They ensure that everything is organised and take good care of participants in their tours. Most have a minibus to take you to the viewing places and they also ensure that you visit the classic tourist spots too. They make excellent choices of hotels, travel, location and guides - I love travelling with them and, as a single person, feel very safe.

I travelled on the Best of Southern Costa Rica holiday with Naturetrek and it was a fantastic trip exploring the amazing biodiversity of the country. The tour itinerary took in a range of habitats from the cloud forests to the mangroves, with so many species to see - we spotted over 100 birds on one day! Our local guides were excellent and dedicated to making sure we had great views of each species and immersed ourselves into the landscape.

This is the second holiday I have been on with Naturetrek and once again it exceeded expectations, with such an amazing array of wildlife to see in a short time. Every part was well organised and ensured that the most amazing wildlife and landscapes of the country were experienced on the trip.

Excellent trip. Small group of nice people. Varied accommodation but all great in their own way. Outstanding guide got us to all the right places at the right times and looked after us really well. Very well organised itinerary.

A 14 day trip exploring from Victoria Falls to Etosha. Brilliant river boat trips with excellent wildlife sightings. Game drives with comfortable transport and good visibility for everyone. Tour leaders(Neil and Hano from Safariwise) are highly recommended.

Eight days intensive birding with brilliant guides in South Africa. We saw 297 different birds as well as lots of mammals including Leopards, Elephant,Hippos and Cheetahs. It was amazing.

Tanzania highlights with 12 days of safaris, excellent guides, great accommodation and food. The group of like minded people all gelled very well and we experienced the most amazing wildlife sightings. The great migration was mind blowing but we saw 39 different mammals including serval and caracal, leopards and cheetahs and lots of lions up close. My absolute favourites were the giraffes.

An 8 day guided tour to La Palma to observe the Botany, Ornithology, Whales and Dolphins of this volcanic Canary Island.

Mind blowing 2 weeks in Costa Rica with Naturetrek and their guide Tony. Moving on every 2/3 days between the lowlands, mountains, Pacific coast and Caribbean slope. Fabulous to see so much wildlife in their natural habitats. We saw birds of our dreams! Toucans, tanagers, motmots, honeycreepers, trogans, hummingbirds, hawks & owls. We were surprised at how many types of flycatchers there were! Scissor-tailed being a favourite. Never thought we would ever see a Resplendent Quetzal with its meter long tail! In total 320 species of bird seen and many mammals too, 2 & 3 toed sloth being highlights.

We were so lucky to have got a medical cancellation for our first holiday with Naturtrek 5 weeks before we flew! Can't fault their excellent service given with emailed links to reviews and info about Cost Rica. Their brochure is more like a bible of hundreds of different worldwide holidays, there's something there for for every nature enthusiast! Even for people not wanting to leave the UK there is plenty of choice for staying on home turf.

From the moment we landed at San Jose to the moment we departed there was a mass of wildlife on view. 2 weeks of going to sleep to the sound of frogs and insects and waking to bird call was truely magnificent. Costa Rica delivered on all front - wildlife, scenery, people, hotels, food …….

Naturetrek was excellent as always on all fronts. Delivered on seeing the wildlife I hoped to see, excellent tour guide and driver, extremely well organised, excellent communication, good hotels and food. Couldn’t have been better.

Trip of a lifetime. We got to see many of Egypts historical sites while the birding took us into places that the average tourist will never see. From Cairo in the north to Abu Simbel in the south travelling by bus, train, plane, on foot and on a dahabiya down the Nile. From intense details about hieroglyphics and the tombs in Valley of the Kings to splendid relaxation in luxury on the Nile boat the holiday never failed to deliver

All extremely well organised from the pre-travel information to the tour leaders and the excellent local fixers. A throughly professional approach throughout.
