Trip of a lifetime

A fabulous trip from San Diego aboard the MV Searcher, down the Pacific coast of Baja California and up into the sea of Cortez. The whole tour was very well organised and the guide was friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. The company were top class when we were unable to get back to Heathrow because of the fire, both the guide who was with us and the team in the office. They found us hotels, rebooked our flights and after an extra unscheduled but enjoyable two extra days in San Diego we flew home. They worked overtime to sort everyone out bearing in mind that they had other tours stuck all over the world and at Heathrow. They were really excellent.

Victoria Falls, Botswana and Namibia

A 14-day wildlife watching tour, starting at the Victoria Falls, then on to Chobe National Park in Botswana, followed by several sites in northern Namibia. This was a very enjoyable trip, staying at comfortable lodges in memorable locations, with great travelling companions and highly knowledgeable guides, Highlights were the boat trips on the Chobe and Okavango rivers, and the sheer amount of wildlife that we saw.

Colombia and the tour exceeded our expextations.

The tour title was Colombia - Birds and History. Every aspect was spot on - the itinerary, tour guide, accommodation, food, treks, additional guides. Loved the country, the people, the towns and the glorious outdoors. An enlightening and thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Special

We spent 7 days exploring the flora in the mountainous region of Southern Spain. We spent 7 days exploring the flora in the mountainous region of Southern Spain. We were taken to different areas every day by our group leader and found so many beautiful and often rare wild flowers, including orchids and tiny daffodils, sometimes just being left to grow by the side of the road. Despite the rain it was a joy for me to get up each day wondering what treasures we would see that day. We were a small group which helped us get on well but it was our group leader whose infectious love and vast knowledge of botany in particular but the natural world in general made the holiday very special.

Rating for tour operator:

Having never been on a group holiday before I was a bit nervous but even before I went the tour manager set my mind at rest about some concerns I had. The fact that everything was organised for me was brilliant and it was clear Naturetrek had spent years of research in the area finding places where the rare wild flowers still proliferate. Our group leader was incredible - so happy to impart her vast knowledge not only about botany but geology and other aspects of the natural world. She was our chauffeuse and organised our meals too.
