A stunning 10 days circumnavigating Spitsbergen.

We were lucky with exceptionally good weather, mostly very calm seas, abundant wildlife sightings and daily shore visits or Zodiac cruises. The vessel is ideal for such outings and the food was well above the standard I had anticipated. The leaders chose our outings on a daily basis depending on tides, weather, wind etc and we returned each day for lunch on board. Bears, foxes, reindeer, walrus, whales of various species, and huge numbers of birds- there was always something to watch, even if it was just to contemplate the beautiful snowy and glaciated landscapes. Guides and crew were very safety conscious but always friendly and cheerful. I would not change a single thing in the way the trip was organised.

My wife and I have travelled with Naturetrek many times over the last 10 or so years and we have always found them to have a selection of trips which match our needs very well. Staff are always available by phone without long waits and always prepared to tailor a trip if the standard brochure trip does not work for you for whatever reason. Although the emphasis is always on nature, if there is an archaeological site or cultural item or scenery of international reknown then it is usually incorporated into the itinerary. Guides on our 28 or so trips over the years have consistently been knowledgeable, cheerful and sociable and the typical Naturetrek groups always consists of clients who share a love nature. We have travelled with several other organisations over the years but we always return to Naturetrek (when the tour is not fully booked) as our chosen trip provider.

I went on Naturetrek's Northumberland and the Farne Islands trip in June. The weather was amazing and we were well looked after throughout. The hotel (Victoria Hotel Bamburgh) was wonderful, the bird watching was amazing, especially the sea birds and puffins. Boat trips to the Farne Islands were stunning. A great trip!

Botswana okovango and kalahari

We first went into the Delta on a mobile safari, what a fantastic experience not knowing which animal or what you might see around every corner. Lions, hyena, and a massive leopard on a buffalo carcass were some highlights. We booked and extension to Tau Pan where the wildlife were desert specialists, a brown hyena the top sighting. The organization professionalism and wonderful people of Botswana made the safari.

An opportunity to visit, by boat, the Outer Hebrides and the remote island of St. Kilda. To visit some of the remote and spectacular seabird colonies, particularly around St Kilda. My holiday was one of the most enjoyable holidays I have had. The organisation was very efficiently organised; the leadership, knowledge and 'sharp eyes' of our leader Sara was excellent; the boat crew made our time most enjoyable and the food was first class.
