An amazing part of the world

We had an opportunity to see marine mammals & seabirds. There were many highlights- breaching humpback whales ,some spent time thrashing their flukes as if they were letting everyone know how happy they were.Having a mother gray whale come up to the boat with her young calf & allowing it to be touched. The antics of sea lions & watching whale sharks near La Paz. Looking at the many birds- pelicans, magnificent frigate birds etc.

South African Birds and Mammals (Kruger)

We saw everything that I'd hoped for, often at very close range, plus much more, with many highlights. Accommodation and transport were comfortable and well organised. Great trip, maximising the use of the available time. Would recommend.

A holiday of a lifetime

We travelled on the ship Ortelius for 18 days from Ushuaia to the Falkland Islands then on to South Georgia where because of regulations in connection to the bird flu epidemic we left early. However, this meant more time to experience Antarctica. It was a fabulous experience. People keep asking me where am I going next? However, this meant more time to experience Antarctica. It was a fabulous experience. People keep asking me where am I going next? My reply is I am still enjoying my experience and cannot begin to think of another holiday yet! The whole Naturetrek team worked with the Ortelius staff to make our experience as enjoyable and memorable as it could be. Naturetrek also offered birding walks during the period before and after we boarded ship. Which as a solo traveller was well received and enjoyable.

From booking through to departure date the admin team kept us informed on all aspects of the trip and what to expect. Naturetrek staff accompanied us during travel and looked after us in transit. During the time on ship the team of 4 worked their socks off. They were on duty from the moment thy emerged from their cabin in the morning to the moment they retired at night. I cant praise the team highly enough.

Excellent itinerary, accommodation, leadership and wildlife

It was a wildlife tour on Costa Rica staying at 6 different hotels on the trip. We saw a large variety of species and visited a variety of habitats in order to see a high number of bird species.

A truly amazing trip

We enjoyed the most amazing trip to the Antarctic Peninsula via the Falklands and South Georgia. It was an opportunity to visit one the planets most important ecosystems.

Naturetrek are a tour operator I would thoroughly recommend. They manage to get us onto the Oceanwide boat despite our flight to Argentina being cancelled and they arranged alternative flights to get us to the departure port.

The wildlife was outstanding and the scenery indescribable it was that good. Weather was a factor and so was bird flu but limitations due to both these were managed incredibly well to maximise our experience. I would recommend this trip to anyone but maybe hold off until the bird flu is less of a factor.

Rating for tour operator:

Naturetrek always look after their guests really well. In this instance, with 100 of us, getting us there and back was done very well. The Naturetrek guides dovetailed very well with the expedition leaders/naturalists and boat handlers in the Oceanwide crew. Lots of advice available and informative about the wildlife and interesting in lectures.

Naturetrek weekend in the forest of Dean, Gloucestershire

The holiday was a weekend Nature Trek in the Forest of Dean with accommodation at the Speech House in Coleford. The focus was on viewing the birdlife but it also included spotting small mammals, such as deer and wild boar.

Rating for tour operator:

The holiday was well organised with good pre-departure information. We had a very well informed group leader who did his utmost to show us all the wildlife in the area. The hotel accommodation was comfortable and the food was excellent. The group leader generated an excellent atmosphere in the group and fully answered all our questions.
