Amazing Zambian safari holiday

Just as described in the brochure, Kafunta River Lodge was right in the middle of the action! Wildlife viewing was no effort with the lodge being situated on a natural spring where animals and birds came to drink. The lodge was amazing, the chalets, the communal areas, the grounds, the food and all the staff were wonderful. And the guides who took us out on safari were extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the local wildlife.

Amazing wildlife with skilled, knowledgeable guide

One week at Canopy Tower, Panama with stunning views of jungle wildlife, including birds, colourful butterflies 🦋 as big as saucers , monkeys ,other mammals and of course the Panama Canal. The accommodation was a bit basic but the incredible wildlife and excellent food made up for that . I thoroughly recommend the optional trip to the Canal.

Great Birding Holiday. Naturalists were knowledgeable and great communicators

Trip to Southern Andalucia to see migration, especially of Griffon Vultures, across the Straight of Gibraltar. Stayed in two locations, one near Ronda, the other near Tarifa. Dinners in both hotels excellent. Birding each day in small van with plenty of space for passengers. Went to three or four different habitats. Naturalists were excellent at finding and pointing out birds. We saw well over 100 different species.

An incredible mix of wildlife and historical sites, wow!,

Macaws and Macchu Pichu was anothercsuperb holiday from NatureTrek. Excellent guides as always, could not do enough and with superb birding skills. The itinerary and accommodation was all excellent! Highlights of the tour? Seeing a baby Speckled Bear cross our path, seeing two Tapir fighting in the river and huge numbers of Macaws at the clay kick.

Wonderful holiday in southern Spain searching for the elusive Iberian Lynx

We stayed in two comfortable hotels with excellent food provided for the whole trip. The food at our hotel in Los Pinos was outstandingly good. The group of 13 fellow travellers were good companions for this holiday and we were led by two excellent guides in Niki and Byron who made this holiday so enjoyable for us all. With their dedication, their friendliness, their enthusiasm, their sense of humour and all of their hard work on our behalf, we could not have wished for better leaders. They are a credit to their company, Naturetrek. We had sightings of many birds, mammals and insects on this trip and--when we had almost given up hope--we all had a good view of a male Iberian lynx on our very last morning. This was a wonderful 6 day holiday which I would recommend to anyone who loves the natural world. You cannot do any better than travelling with Naturetrek.

If I wanted a nature holiday I would travel with this company every time.

A 5-day wolf-watching holiday with Naturetrek in the Palentian Mountains of Northern Spain was the most interesting, companionable and spectacular we have ever enjoyed. Our guides Tino and Taea were kind, knowledgeable, entertaining and constantly striving to give us the best possible views of wildlife. They were able to drive carefully whilst still able to spot birds and animals in distance fields. They drove us to areas authorised for Naturetrek but not generally accessible so we could. learn about the delicate flora and fauna of this remote region, and that was a great privilege. The accommodation in a renovated farmhouse was idyllic: large comfortable rooms, a communal dining area for evening reviews of wildlife watching and the sharing. of travellers' tales, delicious meals cooked by Rosa and the welcome addition of local wines. We saw wolves and wildcats, and golden eagles, which were the great hopes of the holiday, but even if we hadn't been lucky enough for these memorable views, we would have enjoyed an outstanding holiday. We learned about tracks, fungi, trees, lichen, made friends, viewed spectacular mountain scenery and admired ancient oak woodlands, ate hot meals al fresco in the porches of churches with wildcat viewing potential, drank milky Spanish coffees in convivial bars, and shared the excitement of spotting a wide range of species with expert companions.

Rating for tour operator:

The organisation of the pre-departure details was efficient and email enquiries were dealt with promptly and courteously. The nature checklist was especially useful for evening reviews of our wildlife spotting, and the equipment/clothing checklist was equally helpful. Taea and Tino met us at Santander airport, and returned us there at the end of the holiday, so it was very easy to meet fellow travellers at Stansted and be guided directly to our holiday accommodation. Naturetrek employs excellent tour leaders and we were really impressed with their patience, resourcefulness, knowledge and humour.
