Rating for tour operator:

They organised airport assistance for us, provided guides who were amazingly knowledgeable and very caring towards the participants, way beyond many tour operators.

Amazing variety of bird life

A varied itinerary combining birding at a variety of altitudes up to 4000 metres. Wonderful close up experience of hummingbirds and Tanagers. Good quality accomodation but poor food on the whole. Amazing scenery and rainforest.

7 days on Gran Canaria with NatureTrek delivered a hugely interesting and relaxing holiday experience. The tour leader was fantastic and knowledgeable, telling us about the geology and history of the island as well as flora and fauna. We travelled to different areas where the habitats and climates vary resulting in different plant life. The tour itinerary was well thought out, every day expanding our knowledge of Gran Canaria but getting us back to the hotel by 16.30 each day for some holiay r&r. I found the theories of how the first inhabitants arrived in the Canaties fascinating, the volvcanic lanscapes are breathtaking, the geology stunning. We were driven by an expert and careful driver in a very comfortable coach which allowed everyone good views from the windows. The Hotel Roca Negra at Ageate is peaceful and well away from the tourist areas. The breakfast was excellent. There is a short walk down to a liitle port with restaurants plus natural swimming pools in the rocks. Each day the activities contrasted and complemented those from the previous day. The botanical gardens were lovely, the visit to the almost tropical coffee farm and vineyard different again with enormous oranges on the trees and butterflies. The sunset views from the central mountain areas were stunning. I can't really pick one thing that stands out, it was all good which is definitely down to the abilities and experience of the tour leader who was able to adapt to the group and when the weather cancelled a planned boat trip. Gran Canaria is fascinating, beautiful, diverse and surprising.

Rating for tour operator:

Naturetrek specialise in Wildlife and Botany however this tour is a Go Slow and focussed more on a total experience including a little sight seeing. This was perfect for the group. Its always important to read the itineraries and ask NatureTrek about the level of birding as some customers.may find this specific trip too light for Wildlife.

Fantastic Well Organised Experience

This was a bird watching experience in Nepal with my 85 year old father. From the outset the tour was well organised, our two guides very keen, knowledgeable and accomodating to such an unusually large group, making sure we all got to see everything. The accomodation and food was wonderful. I will be traveling with them again.

My father and I wanted to tailor our tour to fit with a commitment in Nepal, the transport was managed by Naturetrek so that we could re join the main tour afterwards. They also answered questions prior to departure that were not strictly to do with our tour. I found them well organised.

Wet week in Extremedura

A six-week birding trip in Spain was something we'd really looked forward to, and it was a great holiday. Nothing like we'd done before, so perhaps I wasn't prepared enough, as 5 solid days birding, 4 of which were in poor weather conditions, was a bit much. Not being the 'birder', I'd been looking forward to sitting in the sun reading a book, whilst the keen birders did their thing. That wasn't to be, but nevertheless it was a great experience, ...

Not being the 'birder', I'd been looking forward to sitting in the sun reading a book, whilst the keen birders did their thing. That wasn't to be, but nevertheless it was a great experience, staying in an old farmhouse with all the modern conveniences, and having a fully catered holiday was something I'll long remember. Plus, I did see some great birds....

Naturetrek - Administratively they were well organised and kept us informed throughout the process. The tour guides were excellent, doing a good job to make the best of the bad weather and both were very knowledgeable about their subject, birds.

Alongside lots of other mammals and birds. Lodge stays were brilliant and I thoroughly enjoyed transfers by road to experience local Indian culture.Whole organisation of trip was flawless. I booked my next Naturetrek in 2023 two days after getting back from Tiger Direct after getting information immediately from the guides in India and the tour operator and I have recommended Naturetrek to other friends especially in my local wildlife groups.

Rating for tour operator:

Naturetrek give excellent preparation to us with guidance notes before leaving and covering every aspect of the travelling and descriptions of what we might see. Also giving us a questionnaire as to our preferences and expectations of the trip. At all times the tour operator was available to answer any small or bigger queries I had fur my first trip with Naturetrek and the actual two Naturetrek guides in India we’re helpful, sensitive well informed and organised and fun to be with.

Magnificent wildlife

A trip to India - 4 national parks - Tadoba, Pench, Kanha and Satpura - to look for tigers and other wildlife. We stayed at beautiful, friendly lodges, ate delicious food, were so well looked after and saw a multitude of wildlife, including tigers, leopards and sloth bears, as well as smaller animals and beautiful birds and scenery.

Naturetrek is like a big, happy family. They look after you, organise everything and give clear instructions regarding all aspects of travel and the venues themselves. Mostly everything is paid for so spending money can be kept to a minimum; lines of communication are constantly open so there are people to contact with any query, however small and silly! The company has a series of open days throughout the year when you can meet the people planning your trip, discuss all aspects of your holiday and choose what is most suitable for you. Over a number of years we really feel we've got to know them - no wonder people travel with Naturetrek over and over again.
