A great variety of birds expecially raptors. Next were four nights in the Serengeti staying at two different tented campsites. Before we even arrived at the site we had seen more lions, birds and what was to be the most fantastic sighting on a cheetah, drinking feet away from us at the side of the road. she then went to hide in the long grasses watching a herd of Wildebeest as she sighted a young one we were privaledged to see her speed towards the heard and catch the young calf. She then proceeded to bring it back with her to her hiding place in the long grass. Over the next 4 days we saw 6 more cheetah 4 leopards, numerous birds, gazelles, wildebeest , zebra, a seval several more lions. to name but a few. The final 3 days of our holiday was spent at Ngorongoro crater where we finished the big 5 with around 10 black Rhionceros. We also witnessed the birth of 2 wilderbeest calves and an impalla calf that we watched for sometime until it found its feet. Very lucky to have had the safari of a lifetime!

Naturetrek provide some of the best wildlife progammes worldwise. They are very well oganised often small groups and whilst may look expensive I believe they are real value for money. The guides who help make the holidy are excellent good spotters and really know their stuf.

The Wonders of Galapagos and Equador

It is very difficult to say which part of the holiday I enjoyed the most as every day was brilliant. I particularly enjoyed the snorkelling and seeing so many colourful fish, sealions, turtles and penguins. Also seeing the birds - blue footed boogies, red footed boobies, magnificent frigate birds - at such close range.

Endemic Ecstasy: Colombia's Magdalena Valley

We began high above Bogota in the famed páramo and continued our northward journey down the Magdalena Valley with a focus on teasing out endemic species. Even an unexpected roadblock by protestors and a sudden southern re-routing, didn't dampen our enthusiasm. Beautiful country, Colombia, with great birds and a world-class guide.

NatureTrek is UK based but we are based in the USA. Currency, time zones, order of day and date, and the occasional English word, are all potential problems, but NatureTrek handles it all in stride. Four trips later I would summarize them in one word: trusted.

2nd attempt.

This was a holiday in search of the Iberian Lynx. I had been once before with a different company and failed to see the Lynx. This was a much better organized holiday lead well with accommodation & meals well catered for. Some of our party were lucky enough to see about 6 Lynx. I was not so lucky but did have viewings in the late evening sun of one down to about 300 yards and seen exceedingly well. A very enjoyable holiday.

Naturetrek are a very caring and helpful company especially as I have slight disabilities.. They are also extremely environmentally aware of the world situation with the planet. A well run and informed staff. I have travelled with them many times and have never had to worry about anything as they look after you and if they are not able to answer your question will always find a means to answer it. I highly recommend them.

A Good Place to Stay

My first stay at the Mandina Lodge in the Gambia was in November 2022. Travelling with Naturetrek on the Gambia in Style. It was a great tour with Gambia being very green after the rains. It was excellent for plants, insects/butterflies. In the November some bird species have not yet arrived, but they are breeding.

Rating for tour operator:

I have used Naturetrek for some time and I am a frequently traveller with them. I find that they are much more than a birding operator and have so many tours of interest dedicated tours for: Reptile and Amphibian, Plants, Butterflies, Birds, Polar, Stars, Mammals and many more. Most company's now seem just be to birding tours.
