Magnificent mammals & birds (literally) on the doorstep of a luxury safari lodge
A short and very reasonably-priced holiday beside the South Luangwa National Park, Zambia. Safari trips by vehicle with a friendly and knowledgeable local guide for excellent viewing of most of the famous African mammals and exotic birds. Equally possible to view many from the relaxing terraces of a luxury safari lodge, which overlooks the flood plain of the river bordering the Park. Unforgettable close but safe encounters with deepest Africa...

Good Birding In Excellent Company
This was a bird focussed trip and was extremely well prepared, thus maximising the time in th e field , and we saw most of the birds I had hoped to see , and a number of rarities were spotted as well !!! All the arrangements went off smoothly. The suggested B&B accommodation near Gatwick was a fascinating Art Deco exhibition in itself , which was a good start to the trip , and there were no problems with the journey.

An amazing birdwatching journey across Bolivia
We travelled with Naturetrek on the Lowlands and then Highlands Bolivia tours in October 2016. This was an incredible holiday with amazing scenery from rainforest to mountains. We saw over 300 species of birds in just over a fortnight with excellent guiding to help us find the Bolivian rarities. Naturetrek offer something different. For the birdwatching trips we want to take they offer intense and dedicated birding mixed with an interest in other wildlife, scenery and local culture. They are well guided tours and Naturetrek are experienced at organising a good itinerary and taking you to see what you have set your heart on. The groups are well led and generally filled with interesting people with similar interests.

Cat-tastic!
A super Naturetrek holiday seeking out the rare and charismatic Jaguar. We were 100% successful in locating and watching these brilliant big cats, with 10 sightings of 6 individuals during our stay at the Jaguar Flotel. We enjoyed myriad of other wildlife from Anaconda to Ocelot and there was a supporting cast of beautiful birds. Our intrepid and eagle-eyed guide Paulo was superb and catered for our every need and the accommodation was comfortable ...

Do yourself a favour and enjoy the bountiful biodiversity of the Pantanal!

Naturetrek are a well-established and highly reputable company, so I had few reservations about booking this holiday. My decision turned out to be an excellent one. The tour was well organised and extremely good value.

Well run, efficient business.

Well organised and went like clockwork.
I booked the holiday mainly to see the Komodo dragon, which I did, The crew on the Mermaid were excellent and I could not fault their care and attention. The secondary part of the holiday was to enable me to be at a friends wedding at the end of October. The tailormade holiday extension was very well organised and fitted in with my requests for where I wished to visit. The chosen guides were very good and seemed in my opinion to go well beyond ...

The secondary part of the holiday was to enable me to be at a friends wedding at the end of October. The tailormade holiday extension was very well organised and fitted in with my requests for where I wished to visit. The chosen guides were very good and seemed in my opinion to go well beyond what I had expected. The accommodation was basic in some cases which suited me, as all I required was a clean bed and a good meal in the evening. This was because I was out at dawn and in late.

I have used Naturetrek on numerous occasions and have always found them to be very helpful and they try to meet my requirements, and do so. The staff are all very friendly and do their utmost to answer any queries that I might have. I certainly would recommend them.

Wonderful wildlife experience in the Pantanal Brazil
Naturetrek organised a wonderful tailormade holiday for my husband and myself with an excellent guide - Benedito Freitas. It was great to have vehicles and boats all to ourselves. We had great sightings of Jaguars, Tapirs, Giant River Otters an Ocelot and beautiful birds including the Agami Hero and Hyacinth Macaw. All the local guides and boatmen had a wonderful knowledge of the wild life in their area and were able to show us so much. The ...

Wine was a bit expensive but we did treat ourselves to one bottle at the Jaguar Flotel and it was delicious!

A wonderful holiday for bird watchers
We travelled to the Brandenburg area of Germany for the annual bird migration. We saw lots of interesting birds under the direction of our leader. There were 45,000 Common Cranes which went to their roost at dusk. The sight and sound of them flying overhead for an hour at dusk was truly amazing.

Naturetrek work hard at ensuring you see as much wildlife as possible, but it is optional to get up for the 7:00 a.m. bird watch walk.

Wildlife watching in Paradise
It was a 10-day tented safari to the Okavango Delta in Botswana. The wildlife was amazing; the amount of it and the way that we could get so close blew my mind. I had a really wonderful time, taking over 2500 photos in the process so hopefully it will stay in my thoughts for a long, long time to come. The guide was brilliant and how the cook and his helpers produced such gorgeous food out in the wild on an open fire is mindboggling. My best ...

Naturetrek could not be more helpful, They where always on the end of the phone if we had a question. They even told the camp cook and our airline about my girlfriends dietary problems (something that does not usually happen) so she had a better time than she thought she would. The pack we received with our final confirmation was also very thorough, containing lots of relevant information, including a check list of all the animals that we could/might see.

The birds, other wildlife and cultural history of Northern Peru.
Over 17 days we travelled from the Amazonian rainforest over the Andes to the Pacific coast of Northern Peru. But it wasn't just birds as there were many other memorable experiences too - butterflies, mammals including the Amazon Pink River Dolphin - fantastic as they played around our small boat. But it wasn't just birds as there were many other memorable experiences too - butterflies, mammals including the Amazon Pink River Dolphin - fantastic as they played around our small boat. Perhaps our most memorable time was listening to the night sounds in the thick dark forest - awesome!! The cultural history of Peru is just as interesting as the natural aspects and we visited two wonderful sites, Kuelep hill fort and The Lord of Sipan Museum. The accommodation and food was good to excellent throughout with our time staying in a Homestead and the end of tour seafood banquet, in a restaurant overlooking the Pacific Ocean, being our favourites. Finally our guides were of the highest quality - knowledgeable and friendly, and contributed significantly to the success of the trip. Overall it was a fantastic trip!

Naturetrek are a top class wildlife tour operator. They understand that it's not just about seeing every bird or animal that moves but about providing an overall experience. The tour was organised and conducted in a very professional manner with no negative issues. This includes 3 extra days that we took before the start of the main tour. We would definitely recommend Naturetrek to anyone interested in wildlife holidays but who also wishes to experience other aspects of the countries they visit.
