Pete Dunn's experience and knowledge of having done the trip for many years and Tom Brereton's enthusiasm complemented each other making this a very special trip. The adaptability of the leaders was essential due to weather conditions and fire incidences . The concentration of whales and sea birds will remain with me for a very long time. The local services used were well researched and the staff on them were very helpful and extremely knowledgable. Time was made to see The Big Sur whose scenery was stunning and well worth the long day, The journey also gave us the oppurtunity to see the Elephant seals which were in the area another exceptional wildlife experience. I would recommend this trip to anyone who are interested in wildlife in all its forms or just whales and dolphins.

Rating for tour operator:

Naturetrek give you all the information you need to have a good trip. The brochure is comprehensive as is the website. The leaders are always helpful and knowledgeable of the area in which they are leading and the birds and wildlife in the said area.

mammals and birds, brazilian pantanal and iguazu falls

two stays in rural lodges, one hotel and one in the jaguar flotel on the river near porto Joffre. The lodges were simple but comfortable and the flotel luxurious, very near the area for jaguar sightings. Many birds seen from the pantanal safari bus and fantastic views of jaguar, ocelot, capybara, giant and small anteaters, tapir, giant river otter and more with each part of the days full of new things to see. very good service from the southwild ...

Rating for tour operator:

we have travelled with naturetrek before and they have looked after the clients well and dealt with any problems helpfully and effectively. the holiday guides have always helped with hotels and been very knowledgable about what we might see whether it was plants, birds or mammals. local ground agents have been equally helpful for us to have a good experience in their country.

I would definitely go back to the Pantanal and definitely use Naturetrek again - Dan Free and the whole staff were outstanding!

Variety

Naturetrek always make such good use of the time we spend on the tour. There was a super variety of animals, birds and experiences: fast boat rides, slow boat rides; walking in the forest, along the river around thelodges and in the savannah. The journeys time are used well to spot animals and birds, too. Staying in the hotel floating on the river was wonderful and so was the Iguassu Falls. Rating for tour operator:

Naturetrek guides are knowledgeable and patient. They calmly manage the diversity within the group and all the bookings, transfers etc run smoothly. The lodges/hotels are of good quality and are often chosen because of their wildlife-friendly grounds. The company is helpful pre-departure and one feels very safe on their tours.

Wonderful Wildlife Experiences In Brazil

The highlight for me was seeing the Maned Wolf in the wild in daylight, a very rare and precious experience which I could never have dreampt would be possible. This and our other fantastic wildlife encounters were due to the kmowledge, expertise and skill of our naturalist guides working closely, in particular, with Loureval who has studied and built a relationship of trust with successive generations of Maned Wolf present on his land. Naturetrek, our tour operator, always research an area and the wildlife to be found there most thoroughly and it is my opinion that they offer the best wildlife experiences possible in any given destination.

Rating for tour operator:

As mentioned above, I really appreciate the knowledge, expertise and skill of guides used by Naturetrek. I feel that all staff at Naturetrek have a genuine interest and love of wildlife in addition to always being very helpful, friendly and responsive. They feel like so much more than a tour operator and I enjoy the open days they run with guided local walks and other wildlife encounters such as seeing the moths in their trap. This was my seventh trip with Naturetrek and I hope to be doing many more.

Guided by knowledgeable and patient guides and our every need was catered for by an exceptional and caring crew. No-one fell in(!) and on the dawn explorations by canoe the only man-made sounds were from the gentle splashing of paddles and the occasional camera shutter - we had forgotten what pure silence is like! For us this has to be one of the best holiday experiences ever.

Always a pleasure to deal with, knowledgeable and friendly, a treat to visit and you can speak directly with or arrange to see someone who has been on the holiday you may be considering - no having to deal with an anonymous call centre! We spent a week on the Ardnamurchan peninsula in Scotland enjoying spectacular scenery and looking for wildlife. Golden eagles soaring high above, porpoise in the loch, a wonderful boat trip to the isle of Muck and gannets diving into the sea. Lovely memories to cherish. I doubt we would have seen any of these without the help of our patient and knowledgeable tour guide. All this and the people we shared each day with made it a great holiday.
