Alderney Wildlife and History in style
The holiday was well organised with two excellent leaders. Martin organised the walks to see the historic forts and places of interest. John guided us to see the birds and gave us a demonstration of bird ringing.

Breathtaking safari experience
We went on a safari with Naturetrek in Botswana in the Okavango Delta, staying in large, comfortable tents. We went on morning and afternoon (and a few evening) safaris in some of the famous reserves in the Okavango Delta. The guides were amazing and the camp team kept us well looked after with fresh hot water for washing 3 times a day and hot water bucket showers daily. We went on morning and afternoon (and a few evening) safaris in some of the famous reserves in the Okavango Delta. The guides were amazing and the camp team kept us well looked after with fresh hot water for washing 3 times a day and hot water bucket showers daily. The beds were large camp beds with comfortable mattresses and pillows. The food and comfort were very good. It was 40 degrees at the hottest part of the day and the area is extremely low humidity in October, in spite of the wetland areas and pools. We had very little problems with insects and none with mosquitoes, although we took anti-malaria medication as advised. The animals and birds were simply breathtaking - to see lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, warthogs, zebras (34 mammal species in total) close up fulfilled a lifetime ambition. We saw more than 200 species of birds. The only tough part was the 4 hour drive in the safari vehicle from Maun airport to and from the camp, in 40 degree heat, but the vehicle was shaded and the air flowing through kept us from overheating. We recommend other travellers do what we did and break the journey from and to London with overnight stops at Outlook Lodge in Johannesburg - to freshen up. An amazing adventure.

As previous experience has shown, Naturetrek is a very flexible and professional tour operator. You know that the local guides and accommodation will be first-rate (within the constraints of the location) and the wildlife experience thrilling. You can also customise the travel to and from the main guided section. Naturetrek advised a suitable and very comfortable overnight stop in Johannesburg, to break the journeys between London and Botswana.

WE ENJOYED THIS TRIP IMMENSELY PRIMARILY BECAUSE IT COVERED MANY OF OUR SPECIAL INTERESTS. OUR MAIN INTEREST ON WILDLIFE, WITH THE EMPHASIS ON BIRDS. WE WERE ABLE TO GET SUPERB PHOTOGRAPHS OF QUITE DIFFICULT SPECIES TO FIND, INCLUDING MANY OF THE RARE WOODPECKERS,WITHOUT THE SUPERB KNOWLEDGE OF KIKI THE NATURTERK LEADER WE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO DO THIS WITH SUCH SUCCESS. THIS IS NOT TO DENEGRATE ALL OTHER WILD SPECIES, ANIMALS,INSECTS ...

Amazing Safari
We were well looked after from the outset. The accommodation was very comfortable, the food was good and the animals were most cooperative! We were looking for cats but we saw so much more. All of our views were good and the guides manoeuvred the vehicles so that we were able to take photographs without disturbing the animals. It was a wonderful experience that I hope to be able to repeat soon.

The pre tour information was excellent, even including a suggested packing list, which was helpful if you had not experienced a safari before. From the time we were met at the airport our tour guides took great care of us.

Wildlife on land and at sea in La Palma
A one week holiday with Naturetrek exploring the wildlife and landscapes of La Palma, Canaries. We visited many places on the island's interior and coast by minibus and saw many beautiful species of birds, butterflies, plants and dragonflies. We also completed 4 sea voyages by small craft for whale and dolphin-watching which were very successful in close encounters with a number of stunning species, as well as turtles and shearwaters.

Insects and birds of Panama
We visited El Valle and the Canopy Tower. El Valle is a peaceful Lodge where we could eat whilst watching birds, butterflies and a few animals. Altogether we saw over 240 species of butterfly and 150 species of bird. The humming birds and the toucans were particular highlights for me.

I have travelled about twelve times with Naturetrek mainly going on their butterfly holidays in Europe, the Americas and Asia. I have always found them reliable, helpful and not over priced. This last holiday was one of the best I have ever had.
