Birdwatching in the Gambia
A great balance between birdwatching by canoe or on foot, and relaxation, with a minimal amount of driving. Great accommodation - comfortable and spacious, yet an authentic feel. Overall, an exciting, interesting and relaxing holiday.

Well organised and they found the right balance between activities and relaxing. They didn't try to squeeze too much in. The guides were all friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and a pleasure to be with.

Extremely well organised holiday providing maximum value for money.
Fantastically well organised trip. Great hotels in most places. Brilliant tourleader. Some long travel days but ended up seeing more lemurs and birds than I had ever dare to hope for so all worth it.

Great service before, during and after the tour. Clearly putting in a lot of effort in organising the best possible itinerary.

Winter wonderland
What could be better than standing in the snow watching the Northern Lights on New Year's Eve! A delightful little ship, Noorderlicht, lovely friendly fellow passengers, expert leaders. Excellent sightings of humpbacks and orcas and beautiful Norwegian scenery.

This was my eleventh holiday with Naturetrek and they always deliver. Efficient, helpful and with a friendly personal approach. I am always most confident when travelling with them. I'd also say the same for Oceanwide Expeditions on whose ship we sailed.

The trip exceeded my expectations in all regards.
When the group met at Madrid airport at the start of the trip to Extremadura it was clear we were in good hands; the leaders greeted us with humour and consideration and we were birding almost immediately. The hotel accommodation combined the feel of tradition together with the comfort and convenience of today - our meals were simply superb. The hotel accommodation combined the feel of tradition together with the comfort and convenience of today - our meals were simply superb. Each day's birding was varied but full and I had better sightings of Great Bustards, Common Crane and Azure-winged magpie than I would have thought possible. These were the species I had particularly wanted to see but the vultures, eagles, waders and passerines were great extras, several being species I had not encountered before. The group contained members with very different birding interests but we definitely gelled, helped by the enthusiasm and expertise of our seemingly tireless leaders. This trip was a highly memorable experience and a marvellous alternative to tinsel at Christmas.

I had booked early in the year but had originally wanted to stay on in Spain and fly back later so that meant my requirements were complicated. Regrettably, because of family matters I then had to cancel these arrangements entirely - only to find later that I could take part after all. Despite all this booking confusion, Naturetrek responded to my frequent changes with flexibility, for which I am grateful. All the printed details regarding flights, arrangements and accommodation were clear, accurate and comprehensive. After the holiday, Naturetrek has enabled the group to keep memories of the trip alive by setting up a Dropbox site for photos to be shared - a very nice touch.

Christmas on safari in South Luangwa
My first trip with Naturetrek exceeded my expectations. I had already been impressed with the booking experience and I have friends who recommended the company to me. The Kafunta River Lodge in Zambia is an excellent location, even in the early green season. A relaxed and friendly atmosphere with staff who care passionately about the environment, wildlife and the customer. Wildlife viewings were amazing, our party of 7 were transported in 2 open-sided trucks so we all had excellent viewing options. The rooms at the lodge were very good with verandas overlooking many birds, baboons, antelope and hippos. Animals, including lions, roamed around the lodge, All in all a great way to spend Christmas.

Sri Lanka - Endemic Birds
This trip was superb. Sri Lanka is a marvellous place full of wildlife and cultural history. Our guide, Saman, was very knowledgeably about both the birds and all aspects of Island life and it was his knowledge and warm good nature which turned this trip from a good one into a great one.

Wildlife experiences and excellent local food
We managed to see an Iberian wolf, two wildcats and several Griffon vultures along with other bird life. Our accommodation was very comfortable and the abundant local food excellent. Our guide and the two drivers were competent naturalists who took us to a number of good viewing sites. After each morning's viewing we visited a local coffee bar where the drinking chocolate was to die for.

We have previously used Naturetrek and again experienced their complete attention to detail. We arrived at Stanstead airport with priority boarding passes, seat numbers and luggage already paid for, so none of the usual hasstle! We will certainly prefer Naturetrek over other operators in the future for the same/similar itineraries.

An amazing experience in a magical place - Zambia's South Luangwa NP
I could not believe my eyes when we arrived at the lodge. The wildife was there in front of us. We were warmly welcomed and looked after extremely well for the whole of our stay. Our daily game drives in the mornings really came up with the animals and birds. The afternoon drives after more animals were punctuated with sundowners and then lamping on the way back when we saw everything from leopard on the hunt right down to elephant shrews. Our ...

The afternoon drives after more animals were punctuated with sundowners and then lamping on the way back when we saw everything from leopard on the hunt right down to elephant shrews. Our local guides were extremely knowledgeable and answered any awkward questions with ease. Though not in the national park we had elephants through the lodge and signs of lion on the footpaths

I have travelled several times with Naturetrek and have yet to be disappointed. Though at first sight the tours might appear to be more expensive, as they are all inclusive they work out at a reasonable price. I have always found the staff at head office very helpful and well informed.

Birding the Danube Delta at Christmastime
We flew into Bucharest on British Air, and our guide picked us up at the hotel. We spent the next five days exploring the Danube Delta as well as other sites in the general area. Our guide, Laurentiu Petrencu was very knowledgeable and personable. We had a wonderful time!

Nature Trek was recommended to us by a friend. They were very professional and helpful. For example when our original flight to Bucharest was cancelled, they took care of re-scheduling both our flights and our hotel for us.
