Go Slow... in Trinidad by Bonnie, 11 May 2018

Wildlife in the jungle

A huge number of birds and reptiles to see, many of them without much effort! Asa Wright nature Centre is a very comfortable and well organised place to stay and it has retained its old charm and atmosphere. The food is very good and we would love to stay there again. Our Naturetrek guide was superb. He was knowledgeable, easy going and fun. He really helped our group of eleven to get along.

Organised, efficient and arranged excellent local guide in addition to our Naturetrek guide. They kept us informed, sent lots of info by email and everything went smoothly. The trip definitely met our expectations.

Birding and botany in Crete with Naturetrek

Lovely, small group of people with varying degrees of expertise in plant and bird recognition (me being at the lower end of the scale) and two enthusiastic and committed leaders who made the whole experience superb. Two centres, so plenty of variety and different opportunities to see what western Crete has to offer. I'd do it again tomorrow.

Very well organised in terms of bookings and plenty of useful information supplied before the holiday, including what to take, what to expect, names of the group etc. Good support, answering queries very quickly.

Excellent Guides, Fabilous Flora and Fauna

My wife and I really enjoyed the trip. The organisation by Naturetrek was excellent and the guides were experts in their fields but also very friendly, helpful and enthusiastic. The places we visited were ideal, and I saw many species new to me. We had a fantastic time, and have many very happy memories.

Snorkelling, boating, eating,and sea safari

A small group holiday on a boat in the Maldives.Accompanied by a cetacean expert.Plenty of activity snorkelling twice daily.Plenty of adventure face to face with sharks and manta rays.Lovely chilling, sailing around beautiful islands and eating good healthy food. And of course ,the big problem?Getting off the boat and coming home!

Naturetrek .Not the cheapest but if you have a wildlife experience on your list then you will find they do it and from previous trips they will meet your expectations. And the guides go the extra mile when things don't go to plan.

Gentle birdwatching based at excellent hotel

This holiday was called 'Go slow...in Majorca' and it lived up to its name. The hotel was very comfortable and we would definitely return to it. Our guides were friendly and efficient, over and above what one might expect.

A wonderful trip photographing wildlife in the Cairngorm Mountains in Scotland

Led by photographer Robert Harvey, this was a superb trip. Robert was very patient and I learned a lot more about photography, as well as enjoying remarkable experiences such as watching a Black Grouse lek and getting close to a mountain hare. Robert was very flexible and arranged our outings to fit in with changing weather conditions. We used special hides to see and photograph woodland birds and red squirrels, and walked through snow to see Rock Ptarmigan. We managed to see all of the creatures we'd hoped for, and the whole experience was amazing. Our accommodation at the Rowan Tree Hotel was also wonderful.

I have done a number of trips with Naturetrek, travelling from Australia to join them. The trips are always well organised, with very good accommodation and excellent knowledgeable guides. I hope to do many more trips with them!

An unexpected delight was the quality of the food, all locally sourced, of local traditional style and all homemade. The trips were leisurely but highly successful for all the different skill levels in the group. Getting the balance right was achieved by the Naturetrek Leader spending time with the guests to gauge their needs and expectations. The birding experiences were exceptional and linger long in the memory.

Rating for tour operator:

Naturetrek provide a lot of upfront detailed and inspiring description by way of Tour Intinerary and Trip Reports. You can accurately assess what will be delivered .The Brochure is particularly useful and easy to explore leading you to consider trips never previously contemplated.

'Trinidad Go Slow' so no rushing about like some other full on experiences

This was a Go Slow holiday, which means that it is all taken at a much leisurely pace. I liked the one centre accommodation in the rain forest. There were several walks that you could do your self.. Alternatively you could sit gazing out over the forest and below from the open veranda. Many species of birds and animals came to the feeding stations.
