Relaxing time in winter Sweden observing birds

A Naturetrek small group 4 day tour to rural Sweden with a local naturalist leader to observe birds and other wildlife during the winter season. It provided opportunities to see birds that are often uncommon in the UK at close quarters and also to observe wildlife when encountered unexpectedly en route. The choice of country hotel accommodation was of a high standard and the leader was helpful and very knowledgeable.

Galapagos Deluxe

A truly fantastic 2 week tour of the Galapagos Islands on a small 16 berth tour boat. Both the local guide and the boat's crew were first rate and took great care of us during our stay onboard the Beluga.

Outstanding Trip

A Naturetrek organised ship based expedition sailing from Ushuaia in Argentina to the Falklands, South Georgia and the Antarctic Peninsula. The focuss was on birds, whales and dolphins and all wildlife of the South Atlantic but also the history of polar exploration.

Style, comfort and adventure!

Gambia in Style. We stayed at an Ecolodge on a tributary of the River Gambia, and could see the wildlife from our upgraded floating lodge on the river. We had safaris on foot or by canoe most days around the lodge, and onbtwo days we went further afield. It was a birding tour, however we also saw various monkeys, reptiles and the resident baboon troupe who we liked! The food was delicious!

Gorgeous Galapagos

We had the full Galapagos experience of giant tortoises and blue-footed boobies, landing in surf and walking on lava, sweating in the sun and gazing at clear starry night skies. Being in a small group was essential, and I have made some good friends.

Darling starling

It was action-packed to maximise experiences over a weekend, and expertly led by the 2 leaders. The hotel was in a lovely location and very comfortable. Just a shame that they didn't think to salt and grit the carpark so that it less of a hazard reaching the Exmoor Room after supper.

I have nothing but praise for Naturetrek and wouldn't dream of holidaying with any other operator now. I have had 4 memorable breaks with them and have already booked 2 more this year.

Norwegian Fjords: Whales, Birds and the Northern Lights

A week on the Norwegian Fjords on board a beautiful schooner, viewing Humpback Whales, Orcas and Dolphins, various birds, and capturing wonderful views of the Northern Lights. Also part of a great group of 31 people, brilliantly looked after by crew of 12 on S/V Rembrandt van Rijn.

Birding in Colombia

I had a great time seeing many bird species in Colombia in 9 days. No time was wasted, the guides were really helpful getting us to see the birds and identify them. The accommodation was good, the food was not great, but that was the Colombian fare, too much meat and not much variation.

Naturetrek gave us two bird guides, and considering there were only six of us, that was great. And sometimes a local guide joined us as well.
