Albania in Autumn
A thoroughly enjoyable week-long wildlife and archaeology tour to south-west Albania. Great scenery and friendly people.

Excellent bird-watching in Andalucia
All inclusive, guided bird-watching holiday in Andalucia, Spain, with Naturetrek. Focus was on the birds migrating to Africa across the Straits of Gibralter. Exclusive accommodation in a secluded farm. Toured the area with 2 excellent, expert local naturalists, in 2 mini-buses. Holiday included boat trip in the Straits to view whales, dolphins and sea-birds. Everything well organised and went smoothly.

Naturetrek is a wildlife tour operator, specialising in bird-watching but also covering mammals, plants etc. Tours available worldwide, usually employing local experts in addition to a Naturetrek guide. Holidays are all inclusive. Accommodation is usually in a rural guest-house / hotel with limited menu eating, but always excellent quality. Very good value for money.

A thrilling experience
We spent a week in the Monterey Bay area, California, watching particularly marine mammals and birds both on land and in the water. We had five boat trips during the week, with many sightings of humpback whales, dolphins, sealions, sea otters, and birds. On land we saw elephant seals in great numbers on the beach, flocks of seabirds and many other native species. It was a truly wonderful trip.

I have had many trips with Naturetrek and have never been disappointed. The tour guides are always very knowledgeable and good fun to be with. We may be a mixed bunch of travellers, but Naturetrek always make sure everybody is included and has a great time.

Naturetrek's Niki Williamson & Simon Tonkin, our two guides, were extremely passionate about the subject. Their knowledge was encyclopaedic, but their inter-person skills were such that they communicated their answers to questions from the group in such a way that whether you were a nubie to the world of ornithology (like me), or a budding David Attenborough, it was pitched perfectly.

Fantastis
From start to finish the holiday was brilliant and well organised, The accomodation and the meals were excellent and a real Spanish experience rather than just what you would get in a hotel. The bird watchimg, led by to very knowledgable and helpful guide was superb.

Inspiring and Informative Trip to Cornwall
This was a five day wildlife holiday to Cornwall with the specific aim of seeing beavers, choughs and cetaceans. The tour leader was an expert in all the field and was very effective in communicating his enthusiasm and knowledge. The group was small and we stayed in a comfortable hotel with stunning views out to the estuary. Each day was dedicated to a specific habitat and aspect of Cornish wildlife with the beavers of the Cornish Beaver Project ...

Naturetrek provide a huge range of wildlife holidays in the UK and around the world. This is the fifth time I have travelled with them and I would definitely do so again.

Nature and history in Alderney
Lots of wonderful and interesting experiences. Cliff walks, spotting wading birds, boat trip, night walk on which we saw lots of blonde hedgehogs, exploring fortifications from when the island were invaded in WW2. Excellent guide who was very knowledgeable about the terrible conditions for slave labourers who built the fortifications in WW2, and could also identify an enormous number of different species of birds and insects.

Very helpful on the phone, and they spoke clearly.

Clouded Leopard and orangutans
Much time spent spotlighting wildlife at night, also boat cruises, accomodation not of great relevance, but some clean and entirely adequate, some luxurious

Good organisation, price wise reasonably competitive, but wildlife holidays are not cheap

Orangutans and Other Primates of borneo
The people, food and experience of Borneo were all amazing. We saw all but one of Borneo's primates, Hoses Langur. We had close encounters with pigmy and long tailed macaques, the strange proboscis monkey and maroon langur, who played in trees above and around us for some time clearly undisturbed by our presence. We had several sightings of Silvered Langur seeing both colour morphs. Lots of wild orangutans and spent and incredible morning watching ...

We had several sightings of Silvered Langur seeing both colour morphs. Lots of wild orangutans and spent and incredible morning watching a mum and teenage gibbon playing chase in the high tree tops. We also had sightings of Slow Loris and Tarsier and the strange Colugo. Saw lots of birds including most of the Hornbill species. It is really hard to think of a highlight. So hard to give just one! Seeing the gibbons at play was one. Watching wild orangutans was another. We were also privileged to watch a Great Argus practicing his mating dance on his lekking ground, at Borneo Lodge. The guide who had worked there 7 years had only witnessed it twice before. Observing the trees covered in fire flies along on the banks of the Kinabatanga River, simply magical. Even the horrendous multitude of cockroaches at the Gomantong Caves was incredible albeit like something from an Indiana Jones film! (home of the swiftlets whose nests are collected to make Bird's nest soup -who ever thought of eating bird's nests?!?).

They are very careful in choosing ideal and well placed lodges to get the best wildlife and holiday experience. They ensure you have excellent and knowledgeable guides who also make sure your experience is the very best. They are easy to communicate with and give a personal touch.
