Walking in the Pyrenees
A wonderful trip in the Pyrenees with superb wildlife and guiding..often to ourselves. Great food incl freshly prepared picnic lunch every day. A few quite demanding walks/ hikes but always worth it

Naturetrek have the best guides who are passionate about nature, but also understand how to manage a group.

Wonderful Iberian wildlife
In September we went on a two centre holiday with Naturetrek as part of a small group plus guides, visiting mountain regions in Calabria and Somiedo Natural Park in Spain. Thrilled to see Iberian wolves, chamois and other wildlife, all from a respectful distance with experienced local guides. Great food and accommodation too. Plus transport by ferry and road, so hopefully a bit better for the carbon footprint than flying.

Naturetrek's staff were great, both overall organisation and guides throughout.

Excellent trip with Naturetrek
I spent 5 days with Naturetrek on the Ardnamuchan peninsula in Scotland. The main focus were the red deer, but we were also on the look out for Pine Martin, Otter, Golden Eagle, White tailed Eagle, dipper and much much more. Steve and Paul who were our leaders were excellent with their knowledge of the local Flora and Fauna as well as being great fun and professional. Naturetrek were excellent from the moment I booked the holiday. All the information on my trip was sent to me almost instantly and when I did have a question to ask, it was answered straight away. The info they sent me was comprehensive but easy to understand.

Fascinating experience
I spent some time staying in lodges in the amazon rainforest, including boat journeys searching for wildlife which i thoroughly enjoyed, followed by couple of days in Cuzco before tackling the Inca trail. Macchu Picu was a fantastic experience.

Amazing wildlife watching in Ardnamurchan
We had a fantastic time spotting white tailed eagles, golden eagles, otters, pine martens and plenty of red deer. It was enjoyable, informative and memorable.

Naturetrek were very organised and helpful in all aspects of yhe tour, very mindful of the eco responsibility of the trip and ensuring a rewarding experience. Their choice of a local guide was also well made, he proved to be the key to its success

A great, birdful weekend
From the time of arrival to the time of departure all our plans were fulfilled. We went to a good variety of interesting birding sites and saw everything that was there to be seen. Our guide (Brian Small) was brilliant. He knew all the places to go and ensured each one of us had the best experience. I loved it all.

Everything was clearly advertised and explained beforehand. A good report was available within a couple of days of arrival at home. All was good.

Immersive wildlife experience
We stayed in the Carpathian Mountains to explore the limestone gorges, spot the wallcreepers and view the brown bears living in the forest. Then we travelled through the steppe country to join our floating hotel in the Danube delta. This is where the immersive wildlife experience really begins, surrounded by tall reed beds and a wealth of wildlife including large flocks of white and Dalmatian pelicans in the open water areas. This is where the immersive wildlife experience really begins, surrounded by tall reed beds and a wealth of wildlife including large flocks of white and Dalmatian pelicans in the open water areas. Finally we travelled to the Black Sea to paddle in the shallows and spot some seashore birds to add to our extensive list of around 166 birds.

Our NatureTrek guide and our local Romanian guide were knowledgeable, accommodating and very good company. The local guide knew all the best birding spots and timed our visits perfectly to encounter an optimum number of species.

First-class snorkelling
WE took a boat from Bali, went snorkelling all the way to Komodo and back and saw the Komodo dragons. The accommodation on the boat (Mermaid I) was excellent, the food was great and the lectures provided excellent and very interesting

Amazing birdwatching in the Carpathian Mountains and the Danube delta!

We chose this holiday as our honeymoon as my new husband and I are both keen birdwatchers. It was our first ever organised holiday - we normally make all of the arrangements ourselves. That meant we were a little worried about how it would go, but it ended up being amazing. Andy and Florin, our two guides, were clear communicators throughout the holiday, and they were excellent at sharing their knowledge. We also had the benefit of being part of a group of other knowledgeable nature lovers and we learnt so much. We saw more bird species in 10 days in Romania than we had in 18 months of birdwatching in the UK! Almost every trip we went out on resulted in us seeing multiple lifers, and across the whole holiday we saw over 60 species which were new to us, and a total of over 160 species. The Danube delta was a particularly magical place, and Florin and Ibis Tours, Naturetrek’s local partner, organised everything so well that it ran completely smoothly and we never had to worry about anything. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in birdwatching.

We were given clear information at all points in the booking process and throughout our holiday, including getting help with extending our holiday by two extra days in Bucharest. The whole process was smooth and easy.
