We saw otters, puffins, pine marten, an arctic skua, walked on empty beaches, had amazing meals, visited historic sites and made new friends. It was unbeatable value as we had the services of two enthusiastic expert guides throughout.

Naturetrek are the best tour operator I've used, I've been with them to Scotland three times and there will be more.

Shetland is a wonderful destination at this time of year with beautiful light and an atmosphere that is both wild and tranquil. The principle focus of the trip was the bird life but there was far more to see than this. The special geology set the backdrop for the dramatic rock formations and the interesting wild flowers, some found only on Shetland. Seals were in abundance and otters put in unforgettable appearances. The busy bumble bees were constant companions. Moving between the islands enabled us to appreciate the different natural environments. Watching and hearing the storm petrels return to the island of Mousa at midnight was almost a spiritual experience.

This was easy to book and the operator sent all the relevant information well in advance. You could read the report from the latest tour on their website to give a good understanding about the trip. As this was post pandemic they did not take final payment until they were certain that the trip could go ahead. I felt safe with their 'safety' approach. The accommodation was fine for the location (remote and limited choice) and ideal for exploring. The guides were very flexible and adjusted the itinerary to suit the weather so that we all able to maximise the opportunities to see as much as possible and this worked well. While experts in their field they were helpful and very approachable, their enthusiasm was palpable.

Day excursion to see the Great bustard reintroduction on Salisbury Plain in morning, and then more general wildlife and birds of the area in afternoon.

We have used Naturetrek on many occasions, and have never been disappointed. The quality and enthusiasm of their guides in particular make all the difference.

Great evening with Sam the Ecologist telling us about the local woodland and heathland birds and exploring a wonderful environment, part of it in the moonlight.

Well organised.

Ben Chappelle led us through a wonderful 6 hour walk though Richmond Park - we saw and array of wonderful birds and deer, fauns and his knowledge was incredible about the trees, wildlife and spotted some endearing creatures. The highlight was seeing the Little Owl, perched on a dead tree - that was the best part of the day for me as I am an owl fanatic and though it was too far for a photo, I was thrilled to see it.

Ben was fantastic. Arrived on time, took us on a fascinating walk though Richmond Park which I have been to many times but never known so many facts and saw so much more than I would do normally due to his good eye and ear - ! Ben was very easy to talk to, polite, and very knowledgeable. It was a real pleasure to have him as our guide.

This was just three days staying in Corfe Castle in Dorset looking at Reptiles and Amphibians.

We were blessed with 2 Tour guides who drove the minibuses and helped us identify species we found. Both were extremely knowledgeable, pleasant and anxious to show us everything they could.

Verry efficient and friendly service

You might think you've seen most of what England can show you on a nature holiday, but think again. On our first day on Lundy Island there were sightings of a Sulphur-breasted Warbler, normally found in Tibet, together with a large number of lesser spotted twitchers who had made their way over by any means possible. The next three days of fairly thick fog (most unusual apparently) did thwart some of our birdwatching attempts, e.g. Puffins, but walking with no traffic was a pleasure, and the abundant flora a delight. Our accommodation was excellent, so overall it was a lovely break after all the lockdowns.

Naturetrek always pull out all the stops to ensure their travellers have a great time. I love a break where everything is organised for you, your tour guide really knows their subjects, and you can be sure of having a good time.

We walked through the stunning scenery of Teesdale - an area we hadn't walked in before. Great weather, which helped a lot! Lots of birding, and lots of interesting plant species.

This is our third "day trip" and we'd certainly consider a longer trip wit hte company.
