Dolomites in Autumn

A good mix of birds , plants and scenery with reasonable length walks each day. Tour well managed by Jessica and Luca who had great spotting and identification skills and adapted the programme to take account of the weather. The hotel offers an interesting variety of good food , but is located at high altitude so temperatures can vary a lot in Autumn

Stunning scenery, great guides and good company in the Dolomites.

This was my first "walking holiday" so I was a bit wary at age 69, of how well I would cope with 10km daily walks in mountainous terrain, but I found the pace was well within my capabilities, allowing plenty of time for wildlife watching and landscape photography.

I travel extensively and usually organise my own trips to tropical destinations, but due to Covid restrictions I was limited to Europe this autumn. I chose Naturetrek because they have a very good reputation and they offered a trip that appealed to me. Everything was handled quickly and very professionally, from the moment I expressed interest in the trip until we returned to the UK afterwards. The guides were excellent, the hotel equally so, and I'll definitely travel with Naturetrek again.

Beautiful Butterflies in Abruzzo

Escaping from damp and cold Northumberland (and Covid19) for a week in warm, sunny Italy. Seeing butterflies, birds, flowers, lizards, wild boar and looking for bears!

Nature Trek. Kept us well informed of holidays that were cancelled by the Covid19 situation. Advised us of new travel arrangements and protocols. Guided us through the incomprehensible paperwork created by the government to provide us with an excellent holiday.

Great encounters with bears

It was very well organised with an excellent, informative and enthusiastic guide who had a wide range of knowledge about plants, mammals, reptiles, birds and butterflies. Our small group got on well and there was good adherence to Covid 19 safety measures by all at our accommodation. The food was also excellent and as a vegetarian I was well catered for.

NatureTrek I was impressed by the way our tour operator kept in touch and updated me constantly in what was a very fluid situation. Despite having to rearrange travel and other trip details the tour went ahead which in the circumstances was a great achievement.

A one-day nature walk along the Colne Estuary with Chris Gibson from Naturetrek

This was a walk that took in ancient woodland, an arboretum and a walk along the river

watching beavers in Devon

A 'wildlife watching' evening walk exploring the River Otter. Our excellent guide Matt found us a great view of a small group of young beavers and also identified five species of bats flying around. A very good evening.

Relaxing and Informative

1 Day excursion to Pagham Harbour. Jonathan was friendly, welcoming and informative from the start. We saw a large variety of species and even some swallows nesting despite being so late in the season. Seeing a seal was an unexpected highlight.

Jonathan Mycock was the perfect guide. His knowledge, ear for the calls and eye for everything, together with his friendly, warm manner made for a perfect day of bird watching .

Seeing wild bears in the beautiful forests of southern Slovenia

Despite being shortened due to Covid, we saw so much in a short time - we spent nearly three hours with wild bears close by our hide; we also saw lots of birds, butterflies and flowers around Lake Cerknika and visited gorges and caves and had a wonderful night-drive when we saw a northern white-breasted hedgehog, owls and much more.

Naturetrek had to work hard to make this tour happen in current difficult circumstances, and our guide Luca had to work hard too to fi everything into the time.

A Day to Remember.

I spent a very enjoyable and instructive day in the Forest of Dean with a 'Leader' used by Naturetrek. My particular interest is birds and the leader was extremely knowledgeable and also had a local awareness of where particular birds could be found in the Forest which meant that we had a very interesting and rewarding day.
