Excellent Day
It was an exciting day in which we explored this Cotswold Valley and the focus was on Orchids and Butterflies. We were blessed with fine weather but however the weather would have been it would have been an excellent day.

Naturetrek are real experts and they employ expert people, who know both their subject and the area to lead. The group was small so we all had access to the leader almost all the time.

A great evening out
A bat watching evening in Hampshire included a walk through a nature reserve near us that we didn't know existed, and then spotting and identifying bats. Either of the two trips would have been great, combined together it made for a really wonderful experience - highly recommended.

Flowers, butterflies and other nature in East Sussex, England, in June.
Staying in Alfriston at the Deans Place Hotel for 3 nights a group of 6 were taken by the Naturetrek leader to see flowers, especially wild orchids, butterflies and other insects and other nature including birds in this part of East Sussex. The knowledge of the leader and hotel arrangements led to an outstanding few days in wonderful country. All Covid requirements were met.

Naturetrek, as the name suggests, arranges conducted tours with a nature theme conducted by a knowledgeable leader who also drives the minibus which transports the group. This year there have been more trips within the U.K. than in the past, but wherever we have travelled with them there has been the same attention to detail to ensure the security of all on the trip whilst enjoying the natural history of the area.

Superb day spent with Duncan Dine, a wonderful guide. The preparation beforehand to enable us to see 7 different species of orchid was tremendous. Duncan’s enthusiasm is infectious, his knowledge base is extensive and his people skills are just great! The Painswick valley is stunningly beautiful, an excellent choice for a day trip.

day trip to Martin Down
friendly knowledgable leader who took time to make sure everyone could see all the plants, birds and butterflies that the site offers. Fantastic to see so many chalkhill blue butterflies at one spot,. Other highlights included lots of frog orchids and a turtle dove sitting in the trees. Weather stayed dry with some sunshine later in the day.

another of these day trips which Naturetrek introduced last year and look to be continuing with. They are a wonderful introduction to the flora of areas on our own doorstep.

Fantastic Birds at Minsmere
A great day at RSPB Minsmere with a true expert and guide, Brian Small. Spotting over 80 different bird species and many butterflies and dragonflies. Highlight views of Bitterns, Stone-Curlews and Peregrine Falcons - and many different waders. All identified and shown by Brian in an informative and friendly manner. A memorable day out.

Something for everyone in Iceland
A two centre holiday in Iceland which made the most of the countryside, bird life, plants, whales and geology with time for townies in Reykjavik as well. The itinerary allowed everyone to enjoy their interests and encourage some new ones. Based in two centres the holiday allowed us to explore very different areas, staying on a full board basis encouraged us to develop as a group and saved time for activities.

Naturetrek are a company who encourage feedback from guests and tailor their tours to meet their requirements. They give comprehensive information beforehand and their tour leaders facilitate the group rather than lead. The main office responds very quickly to questions and requests and will find the best person to answer your question.
