Small group (7) and leader searching for and watching beavers on the River Otter in Devon. Our leader was well informed, knowledgeable and good company. With his local knowledge we were able to watch a mother beaver and her three kits.

Naturetrek provides a variety of wildlife watching holidays and day trips. They are helpful and passionate about their products.

An 8 hour cruise around Lyme Bay and back, our expert tour guide; Tom, outlined the day and route to us before departing Weymouth Harbour. Sailing past a couple of the moored cruise ships we encountered Bottlenose Dolphins around one. Tom was constantly scouring the sea for cetaceans and seabirds for us and an Arctic Skua was soon pointed out, followed by Storm Petrels, Balearic Shearwaters and Great Skuas in due course. Highlights were a pod of 15 White-beaked Dolphins bow-riding the boat, giving us awesome views and over 700 Gannets diving for fish. Our skipper; Luke, was brilliant at positioning the boat, affording us the best & closest angle, but always respectful to the wildlife. Most, if not all of the target species were seen, which made for a thoroughly enjoyable and exciting day, so much so that we are already going to book up for another trip next year.

We think Naturetrek are a very professional company. We were sent all the relevant details, including exactly where to park the car and items needed for a full day's boat cruise. Booking was extremely easy and they were most helpful when I rang with an initial enquiry.

I went on an evening Beaver Hunt with Naturetrek to look for the only wild Beavers in England on the River Otter in Devon. Our Guide Matt was superb and really understood the beavers behaviour. It was a tricky time of year as this years beaver kits are semi independent by September. We missed them early on but just as it started to get dark we sat by the river and waited. First mum arrived and stopped on the opposite bank chewing on a branch and then various members of the family put in an appearance before disappearing & then reappearing. We saw at least 4 different beavers really clearly. Thoroughly recommended!

Well organised and excellent trips

A wonderful day-trip out into the waters of Lyme Bay from Brixham, with very close encounters of 120+ white-sided dolphins, plus porpoises. grey seals and many sea birds.

Naturetrek is a very experienced and efficient operator, with excellent guides who are real experts in their areas.

A one-day tour as described in the title above. A quiet circle around Chichester Harbours various inlets. Good bird watching plus one sighting of seals. Pagham Harbour was relatively quiet but we enjoyed the walk (and the birds). A gentle well-paced day.

Naturetrek was represented by Ben Chapple an extremely professional and companionable guide.

Very well organised

An adventure in a day, covering 70 sea miles in 7.5 hours to witness three species of porpoise/dolphins off our bow and pelagic sea birds species in large numbers rarely seen easily from the shore. A fine vessel, skipper, expert guide and weather. A magical outing.

This is our fifth holiday with NatureTrek. We have others planned. All are superbly organised and guided, and the large number of species of wildlife witnessed is unsurpassed

Great day trip out around the Lyme Bay area, looking for sea birds and dolphins. We saw three good pods of dolphins, two swimming close to the boat and 'playing' around us, young as well as adults. Great views of lots of different sea birds. An enjoyable trip.

Naturetrek run a good variety of trips. They communicated well with us about this trip with updates as required. The guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable about what we saw.

The day trip at Martin Down was very enjoyable. The weather was perfect which encouraged butterflies to fly, and open their wings when settling on a flower. It may have been near the end of the season for many flowering species, but there was still much to see and admire.

Tom was very knowledgeable and qualified, He made sure we all engaged, and enjoyed the day.
