Throughout the procedures of Booking through to the Holiday itself Naturetrek ensured we the travellers were kept up to date with all aspects of Covid 19 rules and restrictions. Every aspect of the Holiday was professionally addressed and it would have been hard to have found 2 more competent leaders to guide us from one location to another.

A brilliant experience
We went to Southern Spain to see Iberian Lynx and other wildlife. All of the arrangements were first rate and Byron, the tour leader was the best we have encountered.

We have used Naturetrek a number of times now for both day trips and longer distance travel and found them to be excellent. Even during the Covid uncertainties they kept us informed and were quick to return funds or make adjustments. Promises are kept!!!

Migrant birdwatching on the Dorset coast.
This was a three day break staying at an excellent and very attractive hotel in Corfe Castle. Everything was incredibly well-organised and we packed in a lot of different experiences without feeling rushed. We saw seabirds, waders, heathland birds, we watched birds being ringed and we opened a moth trap and learnt a great deal about the scores of moths in there. Everything was incredibly well-organised and we packed in a lot of different experiences without feeling rushed. We saw seabirds, waders, heathland birds, we watched birds being ringed and we opened a moth trap and learnt a great deal about the scores of moths in there. The knowledge of our two guides was second to none, not just about birds, but wildlife in general. There were some very experienced birdwatchers in our small, friendly, group and others, who, like me, were not so knowledgable! It made no difference whatsoever, everyone was generous and helpful to a fault and I came away at the end of three days feeling I'd learnt a lot. I felt completely relaxed and happy being on my own - nobody was in any way excluded. The food at the hotel and on our lunch stops was great and we were lucky enough to have absolutely beautiful, warm, clear weather. Purbeck is a fabulous region of Dorset with a lot of variety, I could have happily spent a few more days there, and in fact several of our group decided to do exactly that. I shall definitely holiday with them again.

Naturetrek are a very experienced, well-established company, and it shows. They seemed to have thought of everything and the whole three days went without a hitch. Because of Covid I had to cancel twice over the last eighteen months and my friend who was supposed to be coming with me was unable to go at all. There was no problem whatsoever with refunding her money, even at the last minute, or with offering me different dates and venues. The whole operation was extremely efficient, as was the information given out beforehand and the follow up afterwards. I absolutely can't praise them enough and most of the people in my group had been on nature holidays with them before. For a couple of people this was their 10th or 12th trip, many of them travelling abroad. They all love this tour operator!

Spectactular knots in Norfolk
We had a wonderful bird-watching holiday staying in an excellent hotel (Le Strange Arms) in Hunstanton. The guides were superb at spotting and identifying all the birds and also teaching us spotting techniques. They set their scopes on individual birds, so that we could all have a close-up view, which was very helpful. Another good feature was that the itinerary was changed to fit in with the conditions. This was our first trip with Naturetrek and we were very impressed with the quality of information sent and their organisation of the tour. We couldn't have had better guides.

The Red Deer Rut at Bradgate Park (Wildlife Photography Day Trip)
As someone who loves naturetrek holidays but doesn’t know much about photography this was a great opportunity to spend time in nature and learn some wildlife photography skills

Naturetrek provides a variety of holidays with a wildlife or birding focus. Because of Covid I have been doing some of the uk day tours rather than the usual overseas trips

Fantastic photography day in the beautiful Padley Gorge
This was a one day tour with a professional photographer (Andrew Mason) in Padley Gorge with tuition on how to photograph autumn landscapes. Andrew was a great guide and teacher and really helped us to get the best out of our cameras, advising on both composition and settings. It was a full day, utterly enjoyable and the tour provided exceptional value for money.

Ben Lawyers experience in Summer
This was focused on identifying Scotland's rare plants. It meant exquisite Alpine flowers and rare grasses and sedges. Although the weather was variable, it never prevented the leaders from enabling all you were interested to see the plants. Moreover, a couple of the group themselves were very knowledgeable and helped out with identification.

Naturetrek is my 'go to' tour operator for wildlife holidays and rarely do they disappoint. Leaders are alsways excellent and the choice of places to visit mean that you will, where possible, see all that you hoped to.

A fascinating day learning about Fungi
A great day trip learning about fungi. Tour leader Su Gough is a superb naturalist with a huge knowledge of the flora and fauna in the highest tradition of Naturetrek tour leaders.

Fantastic Photography Workshop
This review is not about a holiday but for a Red Deer Rut Photography Workshop with Wildlife Photographer Andrew Mason. We had a fantastic day with the help of Andrews knowledge and instruction.

Rating for tour operator:

Naturetrek organised the tour well and it was good value for money but what made the day even better was Andrew Mason's knowledge and instruction of photography settings, techniques and general instruction. All these aspects were conveyed clearly and simply which made it easier to understand and I came away from the day having learnt a lot and looking at composition in a different way.

Excellent
We had a lovely time, couldn't really have been better. Amazing walk and great grounds.
