The Forest of Dean Day trip
A day`s birding trip with excellent views of many winter birds, which exceeded our expectations. New locations we had not previously fond by ourselves.

The tour was well organized, the team and co leaders worked tirelessly scanning the landscape for Lynx, Mouflon well anything that flew or moved. At meals and particularily at breakfast they were very attentive ensuring we had breakfast and refreshments before a busy day of looking for wildlife. The Lynx were particularily elusive but at the end of 2 days of scanning different Landscape we were succesful. Overall two adult Lynx in a very romantic mood and two yearling cubs. Picnic lunches were most enjoyable with Spanish Tortella, local cheeses and meats. The company of fellow like minded travellers, the wonderfull scenery as well as attentiveness of the tour leaders made a wonderful break during these challenging times of the Covid 19 Pandemic. We added pre and post extension in Seville which allowed us to enjoy nature and culture.

Naturetrek having been delivering wildlife holidays worldwide for many years. We have had few holidays arranged by them which we have enjoyed very much and have always felt very comfortable and safe in their hands. The holidays are well planned with varied itineraries always with the objective of delivering good sightings of wildlife. Their flexibility of adding extension to their package holidays allows one to have a wider travel experience adding culture to a nature holiday. What we like about Naturetrek, with the difficulties caused by the Covid 19 pandemic and the cancellation of holidays, they have been amazing with holiday refunds etc. Their Zoom sessions particularly through the first lockdown kept us traveling virtually through those difficult months.

He took the time for all of us to see the birds in detail, showing us in the scope. He didn’t move on until we had all seen the bird and had a chance to ask questions

Fresh insights into an old haunt
This day trip to Old Moor and the Dearne Valley was led by a Naturetrek guide who was previously RSPB manager of these. reserves. His knowledge of the history of the area, creation of the reserves and strategies for developing them is unsurpassable. This together with his excellent guiding made for a wonderful day in an area I might have thought I knew well! (I know far more now and will gain more from future visits).

Great birdlife in the Forest of Dean
A great day in the Forest of Dean. Dan was very knowledgable & great at getting elusive birds in his scope & ensuring that everyone who wanted one got a good view. A good variety of locations during the day. Crossbills, Siskin & haw finches were particular highlights.

Excellent trip
Visited excellent places for seeing birds. Our Guides were brilliant, showed us what they could and pointed out different birds and how to tell some birds apart. Had very good room in the Hotel, staff looked after us very well, food very good.
