A welcome treat away from winter weather and CoVID anxieties

A week's birdwatching on the north coast and in the mountains of eastern Jamaica, staying on a 1600 acre estate.

We have used Naturetrek for many years and were yet again impressed with their helpfulness and efficiency. Their selection of destinations and attention to detail make them our first choice for this kind of trip.

Jamaica endemic birds trip total success

We stayed in Green Castle Estate in north east Jamaica and saw all possible endemics. The location was beautiful surrounded by forest quite near the sea. We went to the Blue Mountains and John Crow Mountains and walked around the estate.

A rewarding 6 day trip to see Iberian wildlife.

A two centre wildlife trip to see Iberian Lynx in Sothern Spain with Naturetrek. Location one was in El Rocio, a wild west of a town with sandy streets and horses, ideally located next to the Doñana national and natural parks. During our 2 night stay the park vehicles took us on 3 trips to try and see the lynx and bird life (Spanish Imperial Eagle, Eurasian Black Vulture and Little Owl were among my highlights). We had a short sighting of a Lynx crossing the road about 100 metres ahead of us before it disappeared into the bush. The hotel we stopped in has a lake behind it and any spare time we had was spent viewing the flamingo, spoonbill and purple swamp hen. Our second location was in Andujar. A 4 hour drive including stops took us to our hotel for 3 nights. We were out all day during our stay, with picnic lunch, between two locations; one in the hills looking down across the valley to scan for wildlife and the other at river location. Both lovely locations, we had Lynx success in the hills. One fleeting glimpse crossing the road and the other about 1km away but for about 2 mins max across 45 mins, as it navigated between bushes. The trip was led by 2 Naturetrek guides, with a group of 13. All food was excellent and included, and both hotels were clean and comfortable. A very enjoyable and rewarding trip.

Naturetrek specialise in wildlife trips. I've been on about 5 trips with them and they have all been excellently ran, with knowledgeable and experienced tour leaders. During these uncertain times, they kept us fully informed as travel restrictions changed. Would recommend.

So many birds!

The Albeburgh & Alde Estuary Day Trip was amazing. So many different varieties of birds seen on the river wall, North Warren and Iken Cliffs - I wouldn't have seen half of them without Brian's expert guidance. He's such a brilliant guide and I learn so much from his days.
