We did a six day walking holiday on the Northumberland Coastal Path arranged by Mickledore. They provided amazing detail with the pretrip packet with maps to each location along with larger maps and guidebooks. The B and Bs were fantastic with wonderful and kind hosts. The luggage transfers happened flawlessly. My daughter and I had an easy time finding our route and enjoyed the variety of paths through forest, across pasture, on the beaches and in the dunes and even crossing several golf courses. This was an unforgettable trip for us! Thanks to Mickledore!

A friend and I used Sheila Gordon's wonderful book to follow part of the route used by Lady Anne Clifford to travel between her castles in Yorkshire and Cumbria during the 17th century. The combination of magnificent countryside and fascinating history made this holiday very special. We took six days to walk from Hawes to Penrith and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

This is the fifth consecutive year that we have made a trip arranged by Mickledore. The information that we receive from them is very complete and helpful, the B&Bs they reserve for us are comfortable and welcoming, and the baggage transfer between B&Bs has always been flawless.

I walked the Northumberland Coastal Trail solo using Mickledore. It was booked the day before I started and they made sure that maps and guide were delivered. The coastal trail is a lovely walk that includes some stunning scenery. If I did this again, I would include a visit to Holy Island, and stay an extra day near the Causeway.

Their service and choice of accommodation is excellent, and I will be booking with them again.

This was a walking holiday on the coast to coast route from St Bees to Robin Hood's Bay. This involved staying in a different hotel or B&B every night and transporting my suitcase from place to place as well. The walk was a fantastic experience and I loved every minute. In retrospect, I would make some minor changes, but I am already considering doing it again.

I used Mickledore Travel to book a 17 day walking holiday. They booked my overnight stops, organised my suitcase to magically appear at the right place every night and arranged for packed lunches to be provided. Everything worked perfectly, there were no hitches at all. The value of using Mickledore was illustrated when one hotel unexpectedly closed down, after accepting my booking. Mickledore acted quickly to find an alternative, making this a non-issue for me.

A 8 days walk from Wallsend to Bowness on Solway. Excellent organisation by mickledore,selected hotels,farmhouses,village inns, guest houses or family B&Bs had been totally different but each accommodation for itself was worth staying overnight. The quality of the accomodations was very good, very friendly and helpful hosts. All in all we have had an unforgettable holiday and we will still remember this holiday for along time. If somebody should ask me for a specialist in self guided walks in Great Britain i will recommend Mickledore.

Mickledore has an understandable homepage thereby simple holiday-booking via email. Staff on the phone very friendly, helpful and competent. Excellent, detailed documents for the walk. In my opinion a real specialist for self guided tours in Great Britain.

Walking the Northumberland coastal path was brilliant and very well organised by Mickledore. We had fantastic weather and the changing coastline was great to see.

Mickledore took care of everything and all we had to do was turn up and walk each day carefree. They were brilliant.

We did the 3-days walking holiday "Best of Hadrian's Wall". The walking isn't that easy, but thanks to our holiday package, we were well informed and prepared. The bed and breakfasts always gave us a niece and relaxing welcome after the effort, we were well taken care of, as well as guarding our independance.

The Mickeldore website was very clear and contact by mail always fast and friendly. We were surprised to get such a detailled holiday package, with guidebook, map and despriptive of every day and every place. We even helped other people on the trail who were not so well informed! The bed and breakfast places were very nice.

An unforgettable experience with excellent accommodation and views. Even the weather was excellent
