We started walking from the main town and every day walked a planned section onto our next hotel. We only needed to carry day bags as our main luggage was moved on and was waiting at our next hotel. It worked well and we thoroughly enjoyed our trip.

The whole trip such as hotels, and luggage transfers were arranged by Mickledore. We were given a guide book and map on the route. Also lots of information on shops and restaurants as well as phone numbers in case of problems or emergencies,. The staff were always polite and helpful.

6 days of beautiful Cumbria ! Glorious sunshine, tough hikes, wonderful views of the fells, farmland, lambs, meadows and cattle. Mickledore excelled - everything was as planned - thank you!

Mickledore Walking holidays were great from start to end.

The West Highland Way is a long distance walk (96 miles) through the Scottish wild lands. We saw incredible scenery all along the way experiencing the beauty of Loch Lomond, Rannoch Moor, Devil's Staircase and the highlands ending in Fort William. We chose to do the walk in 9 days with a day off for site seeing in Oban. Mikledore worked hard to ensure we had excellent accommodation along the way including baggage transfer and packed lunches when available. What a memorable trip! Everything went so smoothly. Although the walk was challenging and long at times we were able to relax in the evening at our accommodations and enjoy a great meal.

We would not hesitate to use Mickledore for our next walking holiday in UK. We used them last year for two walks and now they have us hooked on long distance walking. We have thoroughly enjoyed working with Mickledore to design our walks. They are so quick to respond and offer experienced advice. They research information for us so we can just concentrate on preparing for the walk. Even though there was a time difference of 7 hours between our home in Canada and England this was never an issue - we still had excellent communication with Mickledore. We are hoping to travel to England next year and have Mickledore plan a walking trip for us.

We booked our West Highland Way walking holiday with Mickledore. This is our second time using them - two walking trips last year in England and one this year in Scotland. We will use them again next year for another walking holiday in England. They provide well organized and thoughtfully planned guidance on the self guided walking routes in the UK, a guide book, map and details on each day’s walk and accommodation, luggage transfer and the accommodation based on their extensive experience in providing these walking routes over many years. They did all the leg work so we could enjoy a worry free walking holiday.. We would highly recommend Mickledore to other walkers.

Our group of six had a wonderful time following the Hadrian's Wall Path from Wallsend to Bowness-on-Solway. The first day started at Segedunum Fort and then mostly followed the river east exploring the industrial/commercial history of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. The last day was spend walking scenic countryside mostly through peaceful fields and roads. In between these days, we had a great time walking along the remains of Hadrian's Wall with the Vallum and Roman Ditch, exploring the forts, milecastles and turrets on the way. The historical signage is frequent and informative. Each museum added new information about the history of the area, development of the wall and subsequent history. The path is well signed and easy to follow especially with the good guidebook and map we had. The route is also great for birding.

Mickledore Walking Holidays - The tour operator was professional, experienced, responsive, helpful and knowledgeable. They worked well with us to craft a holiday that met our 6-person group's interests and schedule. They provided an excellent annotated guidebook, map of the walk and arranged our lodging. The accommodations were very pleasant with helpful hosts and located to make sure we had places to eat either at the lodging or within walking distance nearby. They responded promptly when we had questions. They made this holiday a great experience.

Walked the South Downs Way from Winchester to Eastbourne - 9 days of walking. Everything was perfect - including the weather! The views are wonderful.

Organised everything from start to finish. Excellent communication - great holiday pack and also an App that contained lots of useful information about our trip. Could not fault them. Already planning another trip.

Norfolk Coastal Path - 4 days walking. Fantastic accommodation which just got better each successive day. Walk itself wasn't by the sea but by mudflats for most of the first couple of days which was a bit disappointing to me personally. I like walking by the sea! My own fault for not researching it well enough in advance.

Mickledore's service and organisation is one of the best in the business. Always pleasant, helpful and very quick responses by email. I cannot fault them, having used them several times.

Just back from doing the Ridgeway walk in four days (five nights) from Avebury to Streatley with my dog. This was a superb walk with spectacular countryside and great places to stay.

Fabulous scenery on the Fife coastal Path. Interesting history, varied scenery, well sign posted and manageable terrain.

Mickledore planned a fantastic bespoke holiday, considering every detail. Taxi transfers and accommodation were first class.
