Rating for tour operator:

Mickledore offers a lot of walking holidays and you can choose if you want a packed lunch, luggage transport, extra restday. The company knows the routes and the staff members also walk the routes themselves. We always come back and book our walking holidays with Mickledore. Great service and they know what they’re doing

Dales Way by Nancy D, 26 Jun 2024
Holiday Rating:

A lovely ramble

We started our Dales Way walk in Ilkley and made our way to Bowness on Windermere. The scenery was breathtaking and we enjoyed the different terrains along the way, with the exception of the mud bog past Hubberholme. The weather was a little chilly, but on balance, as we are now walking in the heat, we would take the chilliness!

Hadrian's Wall by Gandalf, 25 Jun 2024
Holiday Rating:

A journey into nature through Roman history

We traveled the whole Hadrian's Wall Path from Segedunum to Bowness On-Solway I 8 days in a group of 9 people in great harmony. The most exciting part are the 3 central stages when you walk alongside Adriano's wall. Many people travel this itinerary in the opposite direction for meteorological issues, but the construction of the wall took place from east to west.

We had a problem with a taxi arrived late and a refund was recognized for the inconvenience. We needed to call Mickledore for a delay in luggage transport and we found an immediate response for the solution of the problem.

Rating for tour operator:

Just finished our UK Coast to Coast Walk with Mickledore Walking Tours and it was fantastic. From planning to the walk itself, everything was seamless. Their excellent organization ensured perfectly timed luggage transfers and comfortable accommodations. The B&Bs were awesome with great food and a warm welcome, allowing us to unwind after each day's walk. Breakfast and lunch arrangements were equally on par – wonderful meals, organized upfront and prepared by the bed-and-breakfast for us to enjoy first thing in the morning and on trail - fantastic. Mickledore's staff was friendly and knowledgeable, always available for questions and recommendations. The upfront communication between us and Mickeldore was professional, pertinent, and spot on. That, along with all the provided materials allowed us to prepare ahead of time and concentrate on just enjoying the experience of hiking the C2C. Mickledore's meticulous organization, knowledge friendliness and professionalism made our trip. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for a well-organized and enjoyable hiking holiday in the UK.

Lovely walk along the Cotswold Way

We had a lovely holiday walking the 102mile Cotswold Way with Mickledore. The surroundings are beautiful with enough variety along the way to keep you interested. Wonderful woodland, amazing wildflower meadows, and some very pretty villages and towns. For those who like walking holidays in the uk this is to be recommended, especially in May and June.

Everything went smoothly. No hitches with B&b bookings, taxi transfers and luggage transportation. The accommodation was generally of a good to excellent standard. A couple of rooms were on the small side. Otherwise I would certainly recommend.

This was our fifth trip with Mickledore and have always found them to be excellent. The maps and information provided are comprehensive and invaluable. The B and B accommodation was of high quality and we enjoyed meeting the lovely people who hosted us along the way. Arrangements such as taxi transfers to the route were well organised and worked seamlessly. All in all a lovely walk with everything taken care. We have no hesitation in recommending Mickledore strongly.
