Hadrian's Wall by Inger, 30 Aug 2018

Wonderful Wall walking

We walked Hadrian's Wall from Wallsend to Carlisle with four children (13, 11, 10 and 6) and enjoyed every step! The fabulous views were met with equally fabulous B&Bs and hosts.

Pembrokeshire Coast Path by Paul oz, 22 Aug 2018

Pembrokeshire coastal trail

Lovely 5 days /6 nights coastal walk. We overestimated how many miles per day we should walk🚶‍♀️ I’d recommend doing the relaxed version which at 10miles per day is still challenging for this undulating kind of terrain

A lovely - and challenging! - walk on the SW Coast Path

We walked for four days from Exmouth to Lyme Regis on the SW Coast Path with days off in between to explore this lovely area of the U.K.

Rating for tour operator:

This is our seventh straight year of having Mickledore organize our walk in the U.K. They have never disappointed us, providing us always with lovely accommodations, excellent materials for our self-guided walks, and all the information we could possibly need to make our holiday a wonderful experience.

Fabulous experience, well organised and excellent accomodation

We walked the Great Glen Way from Fort William to Inverness over 7 days. At the end of each day we stayed in a local B&B and where this was not possible we were taxied to and from suitable accommodation.

Rating for tour operator:

Mickledore Walking Holidays organised the whole thing: Planned the route; booked the B&Bs;arranged for luggage to transferred from B&B to B&B; booked taxi transfers where necessary; arranged packed lunches and car parking; provided a very clear and detailed itinerary, maps and a guide book. Nothing was too much trouble and they were very flexible as to our route. The standard of all the accommodation was excellent with very friendly and helpful hosts. Everything went smoothly-I can't fault the company. We will definitely use them again.

Walking Hadrians Wall North England

Five days walking with friends, lovely weather except one day of rain, great trip, great accommodation.

Rating for tour operator:

Nothing is too much trouble, if changes are required they are catered for without always charging. The landladies/landlords of the B&Bs are always chosen carefully as they are all so amenable and helpful, facilities are always clean and we have on occasion been driven to and from the B&B by them.

Mickledore's great organisation enhanced this walking tour of the Lakes

This is the fourth walking holiday we have had organised and managed by Mickledore. It was a 10 day walking holiday starting and ending at Windermere. We walked each to the next destination where our bags were delivered to. We spent an extra night at the Dolly Waggon Guest House in Keswick to give our knees a little break and a time to take a boat trip on Derwent Water. The weather overal was very good. This is the fourth walking holiday we have had organised and managed by Mickledore and again we could not fault the company. Communication from the day we booked the Tour of the Lakes holiday was excellent. The information prior to the walk was very detailed and provided all that we needed for the walking holiday. The B&B's chosen by the company were very good, providing comfortables beds and a good breakfast. All this, and the confidence of the back-up provided by Mickledore really enhanced our holiday

Wonderful, relaxing time in beautiful England

We walked the Northumberland Coast path in 4 days and had a great time. Mickledore organized the trip in a fabulous way. Luxury accomodations. We felt very welcome everywhere. Beautiful dramatic countryside with wonderful nature and full of castles and history. We also made a boat trip to Farne Islands and saw seals and puffins. We really enjoyed the time and still feel deeply relaxed. We really loved it and will come back: word !!!!!

Walking Holiday one week

My wife and I had a fabulous active outdoor holiday walking along Hadrian's Wall coast-to coast averaging 15 miles each day. High quality accommodation, luggage transfer, daily packed lunches and maps/guides were arranged by the tour operator at guest houses and small hotels etc. There were six in our group and we were also fundraising for a charity we are connected with.
